A little over a year later now. Let me just say he ain’t going to just be a top 4 D. This kid easily will be one of the best d men in the NHL in the future. He’s absolutely tearing it up and toying with players in the SHL at 19 years old. Stevie Y knew.
Congrats from Mannheim to Detroit, he's a hell of player here hopefully he will be with the Wings holding up the memory of the greatesf defenseman ever on the ice Slava Fetisov
ive watched every one of seiders griffins games , hes going to be a #1 dman and possibly the best dman in the nhl . there will be more offensively productive dmen , but he will be a very solid contributer on the attack while without the puck shall be the most valuable defender and biggest hitter in the league
Look at his face and the physio of his dad . This guy can be the "German" Brent Burns Hopefully he gets the chance to adapt slowly to North American style of hockey
Look back on this pick Stevie is fucking smart. Good look at this kids stats right now he’s leading defensemen prospects all over the board and league. This is why I love Stevie y he has the eyes for this game.
Not that it matters but... Manheim and Detroit are blue collar cities and so is Gothenburg (Frölunda), the home town of Raymond, Edvinsson, Söderblom, Niederbach. B t w Gothenburg is the car city of Sweden (Volvo, Polestar and the old SAAB factory next town). As often, the blue collar cities are great at sports. In England you have Liverpool and Manchester. In US you have Detroit, Pittsburgh, Boston, etc. Gotheburg, Sweden, have been dominating in Soccer, Ishockey and handball for decades.
Es war mir eine freude an deiner seite gespielt zu haben. Mach weiter so du hast hard gearbeitet um es so weit zu bringen. Du lebst den Traum den sich viele Wünschen. GLÜCKWUNSCH!!!
FlightsBurner you gotta watch him play in Grand Rapids.. dude has 50-60 point upside with elite defensive play and the ability to play 25+ minutes a night
FlightsBurner we definitely could’ve got him at 10-12 but there wasn’t any opportunity.. but I’m sure in two years Red Wing fans are gonna be saying “Look at Seider man”
He might have the highest upside, but his floor is pretty high..at very worst may stick around 10-12 years and be very serviceable contributor and may make an all star or 2...the flip might be a great player, safe pick!
I support my local hockey team in Glasgow Scotland and the British league is a step or 2 lower than the DEL but both have ex-NHLers and he would have been exposed to playing against experienced North American talent
haaj haj du In the British league there is a import system where teams can have a predetermined amount non-British players in but there are good players from Britain like Colin Shields who got drafted but stayed in Britain and of course Liam Kirk who is kind of the golden boy of hockey in Britain cause he was drafted last year and now plays for the Peterborough Petes in the OHL
Well pierre if you watched this video or just look anywehere online we couldnt of just traded up because 2 other teams in the top 10 wanted him. Yzerman also said he tried.
