Just my .02. Instead of the single component caulking. Try out 3ms panel bond adhesive. It’s a bit more costly(customers problem), just as workable(~30-45 min work time), but adds a bit more strength. Again, just .02, don’t cuss me out.

You don't want the tubs for a drag car to be welded to the quarter panel skin because of body flex/twist when launching. You want it be separate so it doesn't fight each other and try to warp itself
@BaylessAuto I restore older and classic vehicles, mainly Jeeps, with my sons who build them to keep for themselves. Resto-mods are cool when they keep the classic look, but chopping up a classic car to make a dragster are a waste of an already rare car.
