Bob talks about the Tractor Yard Ornament, 1949 Oliver Super 88 that has been sitting in the same spot for 30 years, he only bought it for the tires.
This video is a follow up from a previously made video. It documents the inside of one of the rarest Ford engine, made By Henry Ford. Engine number 5. It had been locked away for over 80+ years. It is a one of one, an opposed Ford Flathead. Bob Beach bought Engine #5 from the archives of the Henry Ford Museum. There is no documentation of this engine, anywhere in the Ford Archives. This engine is brand new, but now we know that it has been run and tested. Although the previous person, left the main caps loose, after checking the bearings? Luckily Bob caught this upon inspection. Bob tears down the oil pan, and and rocker cover. Explains how the crank runs oil pump, which in turn rotates the water pump. The water flow through the engine, and benefits. Also discuss the purpose of this engine, and it's feature of a generator. Which would operate lights, so Bob thinks it was for a tractor. Bob said that he thinks it may have 8N tractor pistons and valve train. He had tried to fire it up, " she kicks like a mule", needs to bolted down, for stability. Which he did now on a trolley. Bob and I had talked, and we are going to get this mounted, and fire it up, be cool to do sometime this summer, before the snow flies.
Also Bob Will Talk engines, that he likes, what he thinks of The Big 3 engines, pros and cons. He also gives us a look at an old Lincoln V12, from the 40s. He tells about someone putting a V12 into a tractor.
