Also Warden!Alistair does too, but my Amell kills them by walking by with a death stare. Oh and I suspect Queen Cousland would be like "Uh no, he's mine, go away."
I dunno, they gave him a rather raven like nose and sullen features in DAI, not the handsome man I fell in love with in Origins. And don't even get me started with what they did to Zevran in DA2... They fucked him up so bad, damn well near broke me....
I have a theory as to why Alistair, Ander’s and Cullen are popular. Personality, Voices, Romantics and they all have Blonde hair. It’s always the blondes.
I love Alistair and Cullen! Their eyes and voices draw me in, their personalities even more so. I’m not usually a fan of blondes but there are exceptions. I prefer Fenris over Anders, however.
The sad thing about this is that if you bring Cole along on this mission and find him in the Library, there's dialogue pretty much saying that Cullen is incredibly uncomfortable and anxious because of the admirers, and that he needs help. The first thing I thought of was the desire demons that were all over the tower in DA:O, and it makes me wonder if he's being reminded of it
I wanted to tell them to piss off or I'd disintegrate them with my mark. I understand the flirting but you're not putting your hands on my Cullen and making him uncomfortable. Have some dignity and decency Orlais.
Right?? I have to assume it's written as intentionally gross on the game dev's part, too; both bc of Cole, and how blatantly creepy / real-life-adjacent a lot of their comments are. Like, how many women have heard "Smile! You're so /pretty/ when you smile!" from random-ass guys on the street while we're just trying to get to the bus. It is the worst
@@EmphaticNod I mean, sexual assault is rather common in that kind of era...it would be treated as plain rude or someone would murder you for it...There isn't in between, and there really wasn't a written law for it.
"Are you married, Commander?" "Not yet, but I am... Already taken." "Still single, then..." Cullen is so cute. He's already thinking of marrying the Inquisitor at some point -- something that would probably not pop up in other romances. I'd love a proposal scene, just a proposal (because of the war), for an eventual marriage at one point.
"It's fun when it's a man that is objectified instead of a woman." So subversive, so funny haha. Another reason why DA:I was the tiping point for Bioware.
My femquisitor is the kind who would rib him about that shit when they were old and grey together rather than be jealous. "Did I ever tell you youngsters about the Winter Palace? You'd have thought everyone was there to see your grandfather instead of the Empress. Those admirers were all over him like a pack of mabari on a raw steak."
Not to mention 90 percent aren't interested romantically. They're trying to make a power grab by marrying or bedding the commander of the inquisition. Bedding means blackmail, marriage means easy favors.
“I would love to hear about your time in Kirkwall, Commander.” “Thousands died, the Chantry blew up, and my superior went mad.” “Ah yes, that was rather unfortunate. But I assume you enjoyed it nonetheless?” “I’m putting you on a hit list.”
I love the last part most of all. Josephine: there have been some questions about your lineage. Cullen: Makers breath! Feel free to use them as kindling. Liliana: No! I will keep them, I want to see who pines for our commander Cullen: I am not bait! Liliana: hush, just look pretty!
Honestly personal. space. Just because Cullen is a guy doesn't make ass grabbing okay but I do love how he handles it he's too adorable if it was The Inquisitor on the other hand someone would be on the floor do to being punched by The Inquisitor or by Cullen if he was romanced 😁 (Orlesian impression) "oh darling that would cause such an uproar"
Yes, this! And I'm disappointed I had to scroll so far down looking for a comment that even mentioned it. If it was Josephine getting her ass fondled, fans would have shown up at Bioware Edmonton with pitchforks, but because Cullen's a male character, no one cares... le sigh. It's still sexual assault in a game being played for laughs, you guys.
Inquisitor: "You've attracted quite the following. Who are these people?" Later: "Leliana. Here's a list of nobles in the court that I want assassinated."
Poor Cullen, how Leliana and Jossie tease him...XDDD And those orlesian people... would have been awesome if the inquisitor (female inquisitor in a romance with Cullen) added or had some comment to add when they talk about the "interested" parties. Too bad the inquisitor don't interact in the banter between the three advisors... (or at least I have yet to hear any) T_T
Somehow when I heard this for the first time this scenario popped in my head. Cullen: Did you just...grab my bottom? Admirer: I'm a weak man. Inquisitor: What's going on here? Cullen: Inquisitor! D-did you...I...H-he was the one who...Maker's breath, when is this ball over? -///-" Inquisitor: Not to sound jealous but...keep them from grabbing more than they already have while I'm gone. I'd prefer not to share you with half of the Orlesian nobility.
You think a betrothal matters to the madding crowd that is the orlesian court? Betrothals, engagements, can be broken by clever means. Nothing is certain until the wedding night.
@@bethkrager6529 it’s not even a betrothal yet with him. Betrothal is a social contract to be fulfilled. Assuming this is with the Inquisitor, they’re basically just dating. Plus, apparently having court lovers in the open are ok in Orlais.
Yeah, this scene always makes me a little uncomfortable. I've got a feeling that if Cullen was a girl this scene wouldn't have happened. Getting molested by a crowd of thirsty Orlesians shouldn't be anyone's fate, male or female. Poor Cullen indeed. :(
@@KL-cj9ti it’s actually interesting when you bring Cole here, and he tells you that Cullen shouldn’t be there. Makes sense, especially how he was basically mind raped in the Circle. Must be awful for him here. I wanted to get my Cully-Wully out of there ASAP 🥺
@@harubaru4912 in Dragon Age Origins, the Circle of Magi in Fereldan is overrun by demons. You meet Cullen in there either when you go to free the Circle or meet him as a mage origin at the beginning. If you’re a female mage, he has a crush on the your warden. When you get to the Circle to kill the demons, he’s been tortured for days from demons and by with poking through his mind and keeping him from eating and drinking and seeing all his friends go crazy and die and he’s the last Templar in the top area alive. In Dragon Age 2, he is the Knight Captain of the Templar’s in Kirkwall and had a lot of fun ins with Hawke. He’s traumatized and is a lot harsher in his views of mages and seeing them as monsters in this game because of it. He mentions his regrets and all in Inquisition and his trauma. Being surrounded by all those people and harassed and assaulted is already terrible but also could be very similar to the demons against him especially if he had a crush on a mage warden. Cole gives glimpses into Cullen’s uncomfort occasionally. This is only a simply cap up and I don’t think I can do it justice that other explanations could or playing through them to see yourself, I could be wrong with some things, however I believe you can read through on wikis and stuff his past throughout the games and all that. There’s even a slide at the end of Origins depending on choices made where a rumor went through that he started murdering innocent mages but that didn’t happen and those slides are usually retconned anyway as far as my knowledge goes for it.
When I did the romance thing for him, I was like: Who the hell are these people? Babe? Do you need me to cut some of these bitches? Imma CUT THESE BITCHES. Is that cool? I get super aggressive when I'm at this point. Cullen: Did you just grab my bottom? Inquisitor: *hears from the window, immediately tries to break the window* WHO TOUCHED YOU? I WILL BURN YOUR HANDS OFF, YOU NOBLE PRICKS. Cullen: O////O *cough* Inquisitor: You bitches better be gone when I get back inside! I'll feed you to my demon! Cole. C'mere. I need you to show these fuckers some COMPASSION. You can be the angel of MERCY by killing them--so to save them from what I will do if I reach them first. Cullen: holy shit. That pretty much was my attitude for the entirety of Wicked Eyes. Unless I'm not romancing Cullen. If we're just friends, then I make fun of him like crazy. But I still get pissed off when he gets grabbed. Like: HEY, YOU LITTLE SHIT. HE DIDN'T SAY YOU COULD DO THAT. DON'T FUCKING DO THAT AGAIN OR I WILL RIP YOUR MASK OFF, PUKE IN IT AND THEN CRAM IT DOWN YOUR THROAT.
Noble man: "Are you married commander?" Cullen: "Not yet... But I'm already taken." Noble man: "Still single then?" Me doing a Cullen romance: "Looks like I'm gonna lose some court approval."
Another addition to my collection of "Why Dragon Age Inquisition Should Be Remembered"... Jumping, everybody singing all together. Fuck, this game's a masterpiece, or a really good game at that :P
Lol! I could stop laughing so hard after watching this. I thought I was going to faint. Cullen is such a good guy he really is. However threw my gaming experience I have learned one thing......my characters are attracted to troubled men. From Alastar, Ander and cullen. Lol I must leave a troubled life.
True Rachsarn. But Look at the ones I listed. Alistar grew up with his life being a lie. Anders Just wanted freedom for all mages and got poosed by Justice in which changed him. Cullen, He has been through all the toubles from Lake Calehad Magi Circle, Kirkwall, and Then the Inuisition. He tried so much to get away from all that drama he went through and still facing it even with the inquisitor. However this time he did not go it all alone.
Actually, he was 24 in DAO and he had brown hair (I think it was the lighting that made his hair look red, but he had brown hair) so the next time my Amell sees him she's gonna be like "Wait. Didn't Cullen have brown hair in the circle?"
I can just imagine the Orlesian Nobles fawning over Cullen and then the real fandom storms in, surrounds the Commander, and frogmarches him out of the palace to safety.
The really funny thing is that in my game it just so happened that my inquisitor and Cullen consummated their relationship immediately after the ball. The headache couldn't have been that... debilitating. If these Orlesians were serious, they'd find a battlement to make him more comfortable. XD Another thought for an easter egg... If you're a Dalish Inquisitor in a romance with him, it would be sort of fitting to have them teasingly call him your "halla" as they already are quite overt with the "rabbit" comments. Maybe as one of the "gossip" things you pick up. XD "Is that the Inquisitor's Halla?" *chuckle* "The commander? I hear that..." *whispers* Inquisitor - "... Oh If only half of that were true..."
"Hush, Just be Pretty" Hmmm.... *Lookin back at what Varrick said at his banter with Cassandra and Solas, comparin which is the strongest: Cassandra, Josephine, and Leiliana* Solas: "Cullen's not up for consideration?" Varrick: "Curly? They just kept him to look pretty"
Oh my gosh. I died when I was playing the game and Cullen was like "Did you just grab my bottom?" And the lady was like "I couldn't help it!". I kept thinking about it and cracking up all the next day when I was at work
I felt really bad for Cullen. I don't know DAI Cullen well but I am not a fan of him in the other two games, but I really wished we could shoo those people away. They were really bothering the poor guy. But I didn't realize it had devolved to sexual harassment, smh.
As much as I dislike Cullen and I can sneer at him telling him how does it feel when you're the one who is one the mages' shoes being SAed by your beloved templars, he deserves better than that. And Josephine and Leliana encouraged it. Like wtf.
Honestly, a jealous Fem Inquisitor is a scary thing, when she's establishling her relationship. This is the same woman who will go as light as shaving lude words in her bush. As moderate things as a duel in the Capital square. Or as major things as de-fanging a High Dragon. As far as the Inquisitor is concerned, anybody can get it!!
