The first time I saw Wulbren I thought he looked like Solas. Glad I'm not the only one.

Watched varric go up to solas and first thing i said was 'if solas kills varric im going to riot' 😂

If Solas kills Varric, we take Wulbren Bongle, attach a case of Runepowder to his bald head, and throw it at the other bald head.

Pretty sure 1 the inquisitior can't blindly just go to tevinter to hunt for solas without it being a politicial thing, 2. It was established in the last game that the inquisitior is the one that suggested they hather a crew that can slip in and out of tevinter, as for the warden bioware has said it is difficult bringing in the warden even as a cameo considering the warden doesn't have a look/voice , there's also the fact that the warden might be dead cause this is set 9 years after trespasser and the space between origins and inquisition is 8 years do the math, the average life span if a warden is 13 years after induction (this is even if your warden is alive as the canonical warden is dead as per performing the ultimate sacrifice) and hawke is probably going to be in the game (either in weishaupt or the fade) every option stated has a logical explanation

@@MujisTavern The Inquisitor has unfinished business with Solas. The story would be much more poignant to continue the story already established.

@@TJBrumfield There are plenty in game reasons why the previous heroes are not available, or not the best choice: Warden: dead or the calling nears, Hawke: got his own problems with Kirkwall/Meredith or dead, Inquisitor lost his mark, and too close to Solas. High chance some get cameos (choice dependant).

I mean it's worked every other time, why not in this one XD

@@TJBrumfield And it's still quite probable to have that continuation, since Bioware said you will recreate your Inquisitor at the beginning of Veilguard. They are just not the main character you control for most of the game.

You so customize your inquisitor, they are in the game. You chose your events from DA:I

The gameplay shown is at level one. I imagine you'll be able to drag and drop abilities onto the wheel as you acquire more.

Their might be a power shift system like Mass Effect Andrmeda. So you only have three skills but can switch to different sets of three skills on the fly

I believe they said that you start of with 3 power slots, but can switch them out quick and easy.

​@@sveipr Seems like there'll be even less tactical depth than in DA2. Bioware really goes into the less-effort invested style. Looks pretty perhaps, but seems very shallow in most facets.

Always found Varric a bit annoying to be honest. Like that you could upbraid him in Inquisition. Miss him having the gash in his nose.

The Veil is like Stephen King's Under the Dome, where everything's all spooky under there.

At this point I doubt they're even gonna keep that.

There will be a Dorian cameo later on in the game.

They've said there is no open world like Inquisition. This more like Mass Effect in a Dragon age skin. The cities might be like the citadel where you can explore in a limited sense the rest are mission linear like structure

I'm hoping he, at most, got really hurt and can't go adventuring like he used to. He needs to retire and maybe just be a writer 😭

It would be great to see them take it in a different direction than usually happens, ie. he dies or he survives and is just an NPC. One alternative, for example, is he gets badly hurt, and part of the game is doing what's necessary to help him pull through. And depending on how much of a priority you put on that, he may or may not live.

@@ZyliahWar NGL, I kinda like that idea. The stakes are there, but at least we'd have a say in it. Wouldn't mind them taking inspiration from ME in this, too

@@Zymemaru "Dying for the wardens"? You have that backwards. Did you miss the part where Hawke's says that it's better for the warden to go in order to rebuild? Save Hawke, but oops, there's no senior wardens left. It would be Hawke dying to preserve the Wardens.

Please remind me: Where exactly was Varric in Origins? Did I miss him? But I'm with you in the riot. Loved the banter with him in the party. Won't be the Same without him.

Two things! 1. Cullen wasn't the only one who kept coming back. Alistair did, too. And I hope to see his return also. 2. Varric wasn't actually in Origins, he first appears in DA:2.

I'd think he'd be more like Leliana, as she went from companion in DA:O to spymaster in DA:I. And since Varric mentions he manages a spy network in DA:I, I would think that comparison would work better.

@@DuckyBriant id also throw leliana into the mix as she has appeared in both origins, da2 and inquistion, though above did use guy so guess she doesnt count.

@@standadrazdil8674 I think they meant Cullen had been in all three. Unfortunately, while I would love for him to return in the game world, in the real world Cullen's voice actor kind of shot himself in the foot with some...behavior. As far as I know, Bioware basically said they do not plan to work with him again.

I do hope that we finally get a Dwarf romance in this game. I mean Varric and Ogrhen should have been romance options in all three games.

I think combining melee and ranged rogue was probably a good idea, especially given the reduced party size.

Honestly, lowering the party size won't affect me much since that just means I'll replace my healer with potions or make the mage pull double duty

If I recall correctly, he doesn't care. He's going to tear down The Veil and "fix" the world to how *he* wants it to be and screw everybody else. And once he's accomplished that, he can go die for all he cares.

I've been theory crafting for years that the elven gods created the taint in order to escape the prison Solas put them in. I feel like part of his plan was to tear down the veil and finally put an end to them since he's realized that even sealed up they're causing damage to the world, but because the ritual was interrupted the gods used that opportunity to take control of it and uae it to break free. If I'm right then Solas might actually end up being a support character in the war against the elven gods

We kinda see them looming up over him at the end of the gameplay trailer and they don't look pleased...

@connortheandroidsentbycybe7740 you do not want to side with the elven gods. Solas appears to be the most level headed one of the ones that are still alive and all the other ones just want to subjugate the ones they see less than them.

Who can say. Bianca is out of the picture so if he survives then there's always a possibility

It's not made explicit in the trailers but Lucanis is Antivan, so odds are good he'll have that accent. From what I've read (it was only mentioned in one of the articles) the protagonist voices are the same as how they did it in DAI, so British and American.

Agreed. Dorian's story, for example, really doesn't work if he's just player-sexual. It also gives things a bit of realism if characters have their own sexuality. You know, like real people.

@@daviddaugherty2816 exactly, Dorian helped me personally to empathise with a struggle I've never experienced but have people close to me who have. I'm sure these will be compelling and complex characters regardless, but the argument against this trend is compelling with examples from BioWare specifically

Lets hope there will be mods that fix that.

well the estimated time is fall 2024, so around setember/november mark as they most likely wanna be in the running for goty or at the very least christmas sales. though given AAA gaming lately has been meh it might get pushed back which so long as it drops stable that will be fine.
