In GT they don't show anyone have electricity while in fighting motion but only show it sometimes when they're charging ki , so when they show that it means they've turned ssj2 and it'd be weird to think that electricity disappearing when they start fighting or stop charging ki means they went back to ssj1 , why would they become ssj2 in the first place just to go back the next moment ? So u can either show it like they did or the usual way which is more clear them having electricity even when they aren't powering up . But both Goten and Trunks have taken the form in the way i mention it's just how they show ssj2 in GT . Trunks did it when he pushed baby out of his body and Goten did it when he was possessed with Gohan and started powering up in the house in front of Goku and Pan. There could be some more scenes where they do it but i only remember these ones as 100% sure .

​@@Juliki-Mods-kk4kk I think the reason they did it was to capture the glory of ssj again without letting it feel weak with ssj2 because ssj had literally become the bottom of transformations at this point , rather than showing it like a whole another transformation they integrate both into one where it's like just ssj getting stronger and not a completely different form of electricity which ssj is weaker than .
