I really hate the fact that the subtitles in this are categorically wrong regarding Vegeta's signature attack. It isn't "Galic Gun." The attack is pronounced in Katakana as: "Gyariku" which, translates to *GARLIC. As in, GARLIC GUN.* I, for the life of me, do not understand why the fuck this bastardized translation continues to persist.

It's crazy how the episode didn't go exactly like that. The writers had a gold mine and somehow managed to make it boring.

As Vegito he let himself be absorbed to free Goten, Trunks, Piccolo, and Gohan instead of just ending Super Buu and using the Dragon Balls to revive them. Though maybe he didn't know if that would work since Buu's innards are odd. Before Super retconned the Potara they assumed that being inside Buu is what disrupted their fusion.

with GT i think its more that it ebbs and flows. there are some great moments and ideas, but also some bad pacing and execution

Correct the Ultra Divine Water is what Kid Goku drank in the King Piccolo Saga to unlock his potential. The Super Holy/Sacred/Divine Water is from Garlic that cured the Black Water Mist. Which is an INSANE pull cuz Garlic Jr was like 8 arcs and 6 full years before the Baby Arc so those writers REALLY wrote themselves into a corner and were looking for anyway out lol

@@marhawkman303 yup. Garlic Jr filler sucked, but using the fucking holy water from a filler arc to cure possession was actually kind of legit on the writers part.

I hate how the Supreme Kai, a God of Gods, was being chased down by Dende. (Mr. Popo I understand though.) So much potential, only to be treated as a boarder line useless character.

@@alexanderrobins7497 Well... yeah... he's a pencil necked geek. He needed Goku to save him from... everything the first time. He called Goku for help in the Buu arc before he even knew that Babidi had recruited that demon lord guy. Supreme Kai... found GOKU... to get help beating Pui-Pui!!!!! The monster from Dark World? He didn't even know about Yakon. He knew Pui-Pui wasn't the only fighter working for Babidi, but Pui-Pui was the only one he'd seen. Supreme Kai about shat himself when Dabura came out and Goku, Vegeta and Gohan played Janken to decide who would fight Dabura. That's the crazy thing with Buu Saga. The Supreme Kai.... has NO idea just how much danger there really is. He has no idea how powerful Buu is... or even what Buu's true form is like. All he knows is that he can't stop Babidi from unsealing Buu without help... and he thinks no one in the UNIVERSE is powerful enough to defeat Buu in a solo fight.

I'd say the reason we say "baby's the best villain in Gt" is that he's like the most dragonball villain, and the one with the most decent execution overall. Considerrng the actual "final boss" of GT is SUPER generic and lacks much if any personality.

Yeah, that second episode, I bet it just wasn't long enough, so they tried to splice some more into/onto the end.

Devil's advocate here, but everyone else just has Baby's eggs in them, where as Baby's main body is in Vegeta so it may not be as easy to fix.

Since Baby was directly using Vegeta’s body as a host, the water might not have been enough to purge him, unlike the others who were just being used remotely at the time. It might have been worth a try, but suppose Kibitoshin goes to Baby and pours the water on him, it does nothing, then Baby wakes up and squashes the Kai, that’s one of your only healers and non infected people gone.

Writers: Goku has to defeat him so no logic allowed

Maybe because the parasites are not as strong as Baby? But one thing that always bothered me is how the Supreme Kai was depicted as a bumbling loser rather than a powerful and useful God.

@@TheLegacyofHitchcock That's not a bad assumption, but it would have been nice for the show to acknowledge it. "I can probably use this stuff on Vegeta, but just in case it doesn't work I'll go free some more powerful people from Baby's influence. That way they can hold him down while I give him the antidote." ... which honestly would have made for a decent extension of the fight.

I Think it's more ssj4 that people have a nostalgia boner for GT. The villain concepts are part of it but it's mainly ssj4.

Even those great ideas start to break down when you put more than two seconds of thought into them. A galactic hunt for the Dragon Balls isn't bad, except everything regarding the existence Dark Star Balls is utter nonsense, and the writers have so little ideas that they have to resort to stealing ideas from the previous hunts. Baby/M2 are fairly sound conceptually, but the build up/transition to Baby is full of contradictory plotholes, though in the end I'll give it's ideas a pass. Super 17 is just Fusion Reborn but worse in single regard. No good ideas here. And the much lauded Shadow Dragon arc is the worst offender of all, because at this point in the franchise, the cast has only used the Dragon Balls to undo the damage caused by the bad guys. Is it really abuse of the Dragon Balls to bring back good people to life after they were unfairly murdered by super-powered monsters? Why aren't the Namekian Dragon Balls affected by this abuse? They were used multiple times throughout the series, and absolutely no-one brought up the possibility of a backlash.

@@sarahvonsydow1998 plus the jobber dragons are all born do to a specific event I don't know all of them. But the 3 I do know are 1. Oceanus was born because of oolong being pervy wanting panties 2. Haze I think was born because of Bora being killed by mercenary Tao 3. I don't which dragon this is. but he was born from the wish that everyone on earth forget about majin buu

I have a running theory that the majority of positivity about GT really is less about the series itself and more about the nostalgia for Super Saiyan 4 and the video game portrayals of the GT story like for instance in Tenkaichi 2 which trims out basically all the fat of GT and due to the lack of certain characters has to reimagine the story and as a result we get a version that kind of slaps. The original anime? It has moments... and that's it.

@@the-aspiring-creator4249 That absolutely tracks. The games do a lot of heavy lifting for GT's coolness factor. That, and after Super, SS4 became a lot more appealing visually when compared to the palette swaps.

I can appreciate that they didn’t immediately make SSJ 4 irrelevant with a new transformation, and they actually make the form stronger, but you’re right. Every SSJ4 fight is basically “I’m strong, but the enemy has a new trick. Let’s power Dad up with something we never used before. Vegeta has it now. Let’s fuse!”

Yup baby saga has its faults but super 17 and beyond is just garbage. And before anyone says it ssj4 gogeta served no purpose other than just dicking around, proving once again both potara and metamoran fusion is fucking useless in the anime.

@Center-For-I.E.D.Mismanagement Again that's movies. The DBS anime and Manga are both on hiatus fusion hasn't been a factor since dbs broly. By Anime I mean buu saga (DBZ), shadow dragons saga (GT) and future trunks saga (DBS). Plus from what I've seen and heard about Daima fusion doesn't appear to be a thing in that series atm.
