So Here's A Fun Little Project I've Been Working On For A While But Never Got To Finishing Until Now.
For All Of You That Don't Know, Harmony Gold Was The First Company To Localize The Dragon Ball Franchise To Us Fat Americans. The Dub Didn't Last That Long And Is Mostly Forgotten About Aside From The Weird Name Changes, Being The First Ever American Version Of Dragon Ball, Keeping The Original Soundtrack, AND Of Course, The Intro. Since Dubbing Anime Was New In 1989, Companies Didn't Usually Make A New Intro And Just Dubbed The Original As Intended. So Toei Gave Them An Opening To Add Text English To. That Being The Second Opening For The Series Airing For The World Tournament Saga. But There Has NEVER Been A Textless Version Of The Opening That Has Resurfaced Online. You'd Think For Such A Huge Anime That Wouldn't Be The Case, Even Something As Obscure As The Parappa Anime Has Textless Openings Online. Well Harmony Gold Is The Only Known Company To Have Had This Textless Version. And The Only Viewable Versions Are Vhs Rips. There Are Some Rumors That The Original Textless Version Was Burned In A Fire Or Something, Idk.
So Why Did I Make This? Well With No Textless Intro It Would Be Either Too Hard Or Too Lazy To Make This Right? Well I Saw Someone Restored The Audio For The Harmony Gold Dub. So Then I Thought I'd Make This. I Worked On It A Couple Of Months Back And Just Forgot About It, How Ironic. But Then Decided To Work On It Again. Adding English Text And SFX. And Yes, I Know It Isn't Perfect. Like The Text Isn't Where Its Supposed To Be Sometimes Or The Audio Doesn't Match. Well For The Text Part Yes There Is SOME Footage Of A Textless Version Of This Opening Out There. Either From A REALLY Impressive AI Or A Full Textless Opening. So I Just Added Text For Those Scenes Alone Cuz It Would Just Look Weird Clashing Teeth The Japanese Text. And For The SFX I Just Couldn't Find The Original Sound Effects And Tried To Match Them As Hard As I Could. For Anyone Wanting The Font For Future Projects, Its Called "HORIZONS" www.fontspace..... Which Is Kind Of Based On Another Font Called "Stop". And If We Somehow Live In The Timeline Where This Textless Opening DOES Resurface. You Can Expect Me To Remake The Video.
