My god, when this form first dropped the amount of pure hatred that was given for it was quite atrocious. “Oh my god why is it called super Saiyan god super Saiyan if Goku is already a super Saiyan god. Shouldn’t it be called Saiyan god?” (This is a real statement btw.) After reading the Super Manga and how Toyotaro establishes the form, I have to say that super Saiyan blue is the best transformation we’ve gotten since the likes of super Saiyan 2. It may sound silly but please let me break down what super Saiyan blue actually is before debunking the main points.Now Super Saiyan Blue is the power of the super Saiyan God form stacked with Super Saiyan 1. Due to god ki being a generally new concept for Goku and vegeta, this means like back when they first used Super Saiyan, they can only sustain the forms full power super early on in the fight. But with god ki it seems like because of how hard it is to even attain it, flickering with this power gives the user an insane drain of stamina. We see this when Vegeta flexes Blue off to show Cabba a path to power, but because of this, when he fought Hit and used Blue, he was only fighting at 1/10th the power of super Saiyan God. Goku, unlike Vegeta, decided to savor Blue's full power till the very end, which allowed him to effectively counter Hits timeskip. This arc first shows off Blue's potential flaw, which is then further capitalized in the next arc, that being the Goku Black Saga. Where Vegeta would straight up embarrass Black, but because of him not only growing in power but also Blues ridiculous stamina drain, it wasn’t long before Black caught up to Vegeta. To the point where even Vegeta right after eating a senzu bean, can clash with black only for a few hits before losing energy. Vegeta would lose unfortunately but we would see after returning for the rematch, Vegeta learned a new trick. Initially it looks like Vegeta just got so much stronger he’s beating up Black with God. But really Vegeta the moment he’s throwing the attack, switches into blue for a second and turns it off after the attack lands. This way he removes the problem of Blues full power dropping in a long term fight, while also maximizing the amount of damage he can do consistently. It’s a really clever detail that I think gets dropped a little too fast but this is not technically Mastered Blue. Vegeta is getting weaker so the possibility of him just losing before he gets the switch off could happen, which is what we see with Zamasu folding the both of them and they end up just staying in Blue. Zamasu believed that this was the end game for Super Saiyan Blue, but in reality he was only just starting to see the birth of a new power. Goku would manage to absorb the leaking blue aura that his body wouldn’t be able to sustain, allowing him to use Blue's true power since he’s not just turning it on for a second, but rather actively using it. Mastered Blue works similar to Blue Kaioken where his body can’t sustain the form for long, and this results in the aura leaking out of his body. This isn’t that important, I just think it’s cool. After this, we’d see Blue essentially be complete, and even Vegeta before the t.o.p attained the same power. Now if it weren't for the fact Goku and Vegeta get the anime power ups anyway, I’d say Blue is perfect. But they end up using these forms which really just negs most of Blues spotlight. Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego at least enhance Goku and Vegeta for the better, Blue Kaioken and Evolution in the manga is just there for dumb people to be less confused because they don’t know what continuity is. And for the manga at least it gives us a good transition to what Goku's next path of power is, but the fact this came out of nowhere and in the same chapter he learns Ultra Instinct. And sadly after this and Goku & Vegeta fights with Jiren , Broly , Moro, and Granolah, there's no future for the form it seems.

@@Tylearnedto me ssj blue has two issues it's too overused i would rather he uses god more often then blue is when the theme song plays and the fight is basically over with some sauce but no they spam it witch makes the form not special anymore that leads me to my next issue it never won a fight it appears and gets it's ass kicked every time like come on i feel like toei is the one who hates ssj blue. The issues you addressed are superficial to me especially the "name" part like SSGSS is a badass name witch makes it all the more heartbreaking that it's useless MUI is basically what I wished ssj blue was. The manga is honestly no better because after the whole Beerus battle, Whis legit revealed the higher form. It had no build up and just happened, they deemed it as the "ultimate form" at the time yet every new antagonist just treated it like a plaything. Golden Frizea, Hit, Zamasu, Goku Black, 17, Super Buu, Toppo, Dyspo, Jiren, and more made the form less impactful

Blue lacks an iconic introductory moment on the level as SSJ1 or SSJ2 had, got introduced too quickly after SSG, and every random nobody in the ToP could hold their own against it. The writers set it up for failure with a setup like that, and it's no wonder they replaced it so quickly with UI.

Spotlight ? SSG was never liked that much to begin with, everyone hated it back in 2015. SSB didn’t take anything away that implies SSG had something worth taking, no one was buying merch or videos games with SSG on the cover, despite battle of gods being a successful movie the SSG form was a legitimate failure.

I say super saiyan 4 was the best transformation outside of the original super saiyan. Actually switched up the design formula and added additional buffs outside of higher power numbers, hell it gave Goku ultra instinct before it was a thing. It really felt the pinnacle of the super saiyan transformation. but to each there own

Goku has had semi Ui since the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai. Popo literally taught him how to dodge instinctively. Goku even does this against Beerus in Both, with Beerus even asking if he’s a fighting genius

I have big nostalgia for and really love the design and powers for SSJ4 and I also love GT as I watched that first I think and always enjoyed it, no matter how awful it's plot and direction and writing got. But personally my favourite form is True Ultra Instinct, it's thr pinnacle of Goku's power and mind and form and spirit all giving him so much power and pride and he looks awesome when fighting and using it too. I hope Toyataro remembers that the form exists and uses it effectively. It was such an awesome thing for me. Second favourite is Grade 4 SSJ and Third favourite is Mastered Ultra Instinct.

Gonna sound nerdy, but here's some insight on a few things. "Blue Kaioken" in the manga isn't Blue Kaioken the way the anime is, Goku is just using the principles of Kaioken and applying it to Blue rather than stacking it. It gains that name through promotional material. According to Toyotaro, Manga Blue Evo is a different form entirely (they're the same color for familiarity, but Vegeta doesn't get any more muscular or gain pupils). It's similar, but not quite the same. It's less emphasized on protecting his promise to Cabba and protecting his family and more about outright rejecting and refusing to go the same path as Goku, using his pride to evolve differently. Blue is definitely earned, as Vegeta and especially Goku earned it just as much as their Z forms, barring 3. While the manga contains the bulk of it, really, it's arc started in Battle of Gods where Goku saw and reached an entirely new realm of power, but it wasn't with his own training, which he disliked. After seeing how far he can go with the ritual, Goku knows now he can go above and beyond into the realm of gods, this time on his own terms. Enter SSB, the culmination of that. If anyone sees blue as an "asspull" because they never trained for it onscreen, then so is Goku and Vegeta acquiring SSJ2. But then again we see them learn of it in RoF, so really Blue is even less of one.

@@IIIISai I didn't say it was definitively, an "asspull", only via the same logic of "off-screen". God and Blue are both SSJ forms. The whole point was that God required a whole new level of Ki to access to tap into a god level. Goku then briefly managed to tap into the power of SSG on his own while fighting Beerus, though this wasn't a permanent power-up. It's also confirmation that Goku can go further. This is what Saiyan Beyond God is derived from. Goku can raise his ki to the point where he can channel the power of a god at will on his own. The "god ki" you're talking about is just Goku and Vegeta learning to control and condense their ki as they get more powerful, which is how they came across Blue. Grade 5 only mattered briefly, and even then it was powercrept by SSJ3 the next arc. Blue and even manga SSG stay prominent for a long time. 2 isn't even a clever twist to SSJ like Grade 4, it's just the same thing but stronger.

@@RaggedyRed1 overall good points homie, ill cover each point as well God and blue cant both be ssj forms as that is contradicting, if ssj 1 is blue then god is base Which by extension saiyan beyond god cant exist as thats basically base with god ki, which is what red is supposed to be Again its not a contest, ssj2 is not supposed to be relevant its just a natural evolution, we dont see grade 4 on tierlists yet we compare ssj1 to ssj2 when its the exact same form, gokus dialogue from the buu saga has confused the fandom into thinking its a seperate form, yes ssj3 is better but less optimal anyway, supers issue is it forgets ssj2, anywas yes god and blue are relevant in the manga, but it will never be bad even if goku masters ui, because its just a starters form like ssj2 was, like if in super they always started out as ssj2 it does not make it better, not the best metric to rank with, or that makes ssj3 an F tier form

@@IIIISai That's not really contradicting. In fact, I'll tell you something interesting as well. One time, when Goku's energy is absorbed by Moro in the manga, he drops from SSG to SSJ3, which shouldn't be possible if they were an entirely different transformation line. God just requires an entirely different reservoir of ki. Exactly. It's not significant thematically, and it's just another step on the SSJ ladder that only really stands out because of Gohan. It's separate. It is executed as an extension of SSJ, yes, but it is very much it's own thing, otherwise Goku wouldn't make it a point to separate it from the other grades specifically. There is no situation where 2 would have won where 3 won. And 3 isn't really the straining form people see it as. Goku didn't have time to use it while he was dead against Fat Boo, and he wasn't adjusted to using it while alive. He does day it takes a toll on him fighting Caulifla, but that was while he was still weakened from his fight with Jiren. I never said 2 was a bad form, nor do I necessarily think it's bad. Narratively, I find it the same tier as grades 2 and 3, somewhat higher than them. 3 is shoehorned into the Boo Saga because Toriyama writes himself into a wall and then limits how efficient it can be even further to force stakes. So F tier is actually an argument.

@@RaggedyRed1 see with the moro ard I think its bad writing all over, regressed vegeta when he fights moro and mischaracterizes goku multiple times, so im not suprised about ssjg to ssj3, but my personal explanation would be since ssj3 was his base highest power he automatically became it when he lost his god ki, call it wish washy but I cant use that moro scene to then redefine the whole concept ya know, because if ssjg is a form when what is blue, because its not ssj2, I try not to overthink super I agree theres no situation 2 beats 3, but goku not mastering it is unfortunate even tho the real explanation is toriyama did not wanna draw it, I wouldnt use that metric to make it F tier since that means we rank off wins not aura, which means grade forms ssj3 mystic ssjg rose mui and ultra ego are all F tier

Okay wow, didn't expect to see a video defending Blue. Points for not being a sheep. Don't get me wrong, Blue does have issues but people just copy what others say about the form without looking into it for themselves. "Blue is just a recolor of Super Saiyan!" Yeah, that's the point. It looks like Super Saiyan because it is just Super Saiyan. The only difference is it has the power of a Super Saiyan God. Golden Great Ape and Super Saiyan Kaioken from the Pikkon special are recolors for similar reasons. Blue isn't a natural form, it's a hybrid form. "Super Saiyan Blue gets no wins!" It literally beat Golden Frieza in its first appearance. Yeah, Sorbet shot Goku but even Frieza admitted he lost the fight. ROF was a weak introduction but saying Blue never wins is disingenuous. By that logic, MUI didn't beat Jiren. "It's overused." it really wasn't until the tournament of power and even then, he was mostly holding back. A good example would be Kale since later in the tournament of power, a fatigued SSG Goku is more powerful than Kale in an even stronger form. Anyway, Blue is my favorite form in all of Dragon Ball. It takes the original Super Saiyan legend and mixes it with the legend of the Super Saiyan God. SSJ was already a goated form but SSB makes it seem as if Goku truly mastered Super Saiyan to the point of no longer needing upgrades such as SSJ2 and SSJ3 which in my opinion is better than Super Saiyan 4. In fact many of the criticisms against Blue apply to Super Saiyan 4 as well. SSJ4 didn't have much wins either. He needed help for Baby which was the equivalent of Whis turning back time and he beat 17 and Omega Shenron in base. He did beat Eis Shenron and Naturon Shenron but if we're talking wins, Blue Goku alone has a lot more than any Super Saiyan 4 in Gt. Also if we wanna talk overuse of forms and characters looking weak, Gt Goku went SSJ4 to lift a building and got cut by glass. It's like the show temporarily forgot they aren't humans with superpowers, they're Saiyans.

@@QGUU In the tournament of power arc, it was overused for sure but that arc but in most cases, Goku was holding back since Blue has perfect ki control. This is the same form that injured a Potara fusion with a Kamehameha, the very same type of fusion that according to the anime adds the full power of both users and multiplies it by tens of times in base. Goku Black got a boost in power yet Goku was still able to injure a foe that was tens of times stronger than Rose Goku Black and by extension, himself. If we downplay, Fused Zamasu(Not corrupted) is 20 times stronger than Goku Black and Goku's Full power Kamehameha damaged him. If x10 Kamehameha is to be taken literally, then SSGSS Goku's full power Kamehameha is even stronger when downplayed.

Blue was definitely overused at least in the anime. After they got blue OFF SCREEN which is another reason SSB sucks, they barely ever used god after that. Never tried god on Zamasu or Goku black, never tried it against universe 6. They only used it a couple times after they got blue.

@@Nominod I mean, God was pretty much useless at that point. New enemies had to be stronger than the last so naturally Goku and Vegeta had to use their strongest forms. This isn't exclusive to SSB. Literally every other form has this problem. Goku had to go SSJ for every foe after he got it and that form like SSB lost a lot of fights due to how long it was the top form. In Gt, Goku literally goes ssj4 to lift up a building, so that form is overused too. It isn't really Blue's fault, at the time, SSG was supposed to be a power they could just access in base form without having to transform but they changed that in the tournament of power. Also SSJ2 was unlocked off screen and so was SSJ3. Blue had a terrible introduction but outside of ROF, it was a pretty solid form. Perfect Ki control, was able to use Kaioken, damage a potara fusion with a Godly transformation involved, move forward through time, and is the combination of the two Saiyan Legends. In the tournament of power it was definitely overused but he was usually holding back. It is BS that 17 and Gohan were above SSG level though.

@@phantomrogue7894 I don't disagree with a lot of what you said. It makes perfect sense that it's stronger and outclasses god. My main issue is that god got no time to be its own thing since they introduced it literally right after they got it. This is just a nitpick but I also think the concept of stacking SSJ on top of SSG is really dumb. As far as I remember we didn't see anything like that before and it just logically doesn't make sense to me.

Hold on you actually brought up a good point. People were talking about a Golden SSJ4 Transformation being the original design for SSJG (which is a false myth, the original design was a cape, and a hair in between the length of SSJ3 and SSJ4) and that's what it should have been instead of the red hair, even though it's literally just a yellow recolour of 4.

Definitely don’t hate blue but I do wish we had more time with regular super saiyan god before it got introduced. Seeing them struggle a bit longer to incorporate ssj with the form would’ve been nice to see and would’ve been cool to see them grasp it during the golden frieza fight kinda calling back to og ssj. Also the idea of perfecting blue was so dope in the manga and kinda felt like an extension to the fiery aura of ssg but now they absorb the blue flames in order to truly perfect the form. Kaioken is cool and all but I would’ve have minded them showing the full progression of perfecting blue and then adding it.

Honestly? I love SSBlue. I don't get the hatred, the simplicity of the form is what made me like it. It jusy encapsulates what Akira wanted in a form. SSJ4 is just...yeah, to me it's overdesigned. Don't get me wrong, it looks good but it just doesn't coincide with Akira's ideal

People be hating on blue for the dumbest reasons when other iconic forms have the same problems as it. Blue is valid unlike a certain longed hair form. Blue is actually a really cool form with many cool details about it (but fans dont like to look at things for themselves and need to be spoonfed information) like the aura being less intense because the form is about control, its tranquil blue color symbolizes the ki control and calmness that is needed to use it, and its a stepping stone to ui since its all about control People calling it overused when ssj was just casually obtained by everyone in the Cell Saga. Calling it lazy design when blue makes sense for looking the way it does and people love to look away from ssj2 and ultimate gohan existing. And for some reason people won't go after ssg when its also a recolor. Somehow useless (like what??) when it actually wins fights and does something unlike ssj3 which was shafted in its own arc due to its tremendous downsides. Also ssj4 was lowkey getting clowned on in gt for a so called "Ultimate form" (for the love of god, goku was blinded by a weak ice dragon in the form) Apparently losing more fights than its won but most dbz forms have that problem. Double standards are a mf in the db community.

I think SSB should be saved until the Goku Black Arc. They trained off-screen, so there was no narrative impact. But there is narrative impact in the Goku Black arc when he transforms into SSB for the first time.

U must have selective reading, blue is overused in the sense its on small scale enemies and even sparring, poor usage and doesnt r3ally make sense in the anime, the manga blue is good tho

@@Sarge327 i hate anime blue I like manga blue but ill try to explain why besides those 2 scenarios u mentioned God red is a 5 digit plus boost stack that with 50 from ssj, then kaioken and somehow goku does not one shot, its a horrible look for blue yet when we look at ssj3 it feels powerful, so I did not like how goku struggled with hit it was bad scaling.. Vegeta needed blue against a weaker rose goku and still could not even kill him with all those punches when they had a huge power difference yet if we imagine ssj3 vs majin vegeta its a stomp, vegito fused and yet still needed blue for zamasu when BLUE GOKU HIMSELF WAS BODYING ZAMASU Goku needed blue to tie with a revived dead frieza that barley trained when goku just finished beating zamasu and growing much stronger Goku as u mentioned needed it vs 17, also goku got bodied by berserker kale in blue and multiple weak opponents, he had a good showing with blue vs kefla and jiren I will say, but even jiren why when goku got a zenkai and used kaioken he still made 0 difference, in super broly gogeta needed blue to defeat broly when he was a fusion and broly was mindless, I think super animes issue is its overused, orange piccolo is somehow stronger as well? Anyways the manga treats it well and it had amazing fights, sorry for the yap

@@IIIISai You can just call it God, we all know it’s the color red. Anyways, there is no official multiplier for any form past SS3 at 400x, but you are right about Blue being 50x stronger than God because of the premise of the form. I have only ever looked at Super Saiyan 3 like it was the coolest and strongest thing ever one time and that was when it was first introduced. Gotenks made it look somewhat strong but because of his attitude I couldn’t take it as serious. Then Goku used it again and it was immediately exposed as being a terrible form before being trashed by Beerus in the following arc/film. Goku struggling with Hit may at first seem a bit ridiculous before you consider 2 things: First, that Hit is over 1000 years old and has had much more time than Goku has to improve his skills, which is why he was Champa’s chosen big guy as Goku was Beerus’s; Secondly, Hit’s strength lies within his technique and precision, always attacking his opponents in the most effective vital areas. In terms of raw strength he doesn’t come close to what Goku or Vegeta can do. As for Vegeta vs Black, Vegeta absolutely started destroying Black until Black realized the source of a Saiyan’s power, anger and rage. Goku Black starts using his anger for power from then on and is implied that he hadn’t been able to use the true extent of his strength until that moment. He was still driven to fusion during that fight anyways so idk man. Also Goku never bodied Fused Zamasu, he hurt him after expending so much of his power that his bones in his arms shattered, and then knocked him away using Kaioken which at best made him more angry. Then Zamasu powered up even more, making him way stronger than that, while still being toyed with by Vegetto. Freeza didn’t barely train while in the afterlife, he used image training nearly 24/7. It was enough to push his Golden form to new heights, essentially mastering it and calling it True Golden Freeza. Image training and meditation are incredibly affective for increasing your power, just look at Piccolo on King Kai’s planet during the Namek saga, he went from weaker than Nappa to being able to impress Nail in a couple weeks. I have no defense for 17, that one is stupid and I agree. But Kale and Broly are both Legendary Saiyans, their reason for being as strong as they are is simply because they needed to be to get the premise across in the modern story. Regardless of that, Kale was never given the opportunity to be in her Berserk form for any longer than 30 seconds at a time and got nowhere near as strong as Broly did because of that, they grow stronger the longer they are in the form or tapping into that power at an exponential rate. The only reason Gogeta needed to use Blue against Broly was to widen the power gap so far so Broly didn’t get the chance to narrow it like he did against everyone else. He started off stronger than Broly in Super Saiyan until he used Stardust Fall and Broly just caught up again. Orange Piccolo being that strong makes complete sense given that it’s a power derived directly from his roots of creating the Earth’s Dragon Balls, stacked with his already unleashed potential in his Power Awakening form. If you’ve seen GT you know how much power the Earth’s Dragon Balls can generate, regardless of the admittedly poor writing for a majority of that show. And then there’s Jiren. You would have to be blind to not notice the difference between Goku’s first performance while using Blue against him compared to the second. It’s very noticeable given the difference in effort Jiren puts forth in both fights. I would be lying if I said the anime handled the form better than the manga. The only thing it really did was use Kaioken instead of that weird bootleg version from the manga, and I think SSBE looks better in the anime. But people love giving the form less credit than is deserved. I’d firmly place the form in low B tier if I were to make a list.

Finally people are starting to jump off the bandwagon. Blue's only real crime was replacing SSG so abruptly (which does indeed suck since Red hair ALWAYS looked good on saiyans, like how SSJ4 Gogeta clears every other version of ssj4 in design even if you include heroes). Goku combining every multiplying power up he had access to (SSJ, SSG, KK) into SSB Kaioken was always thematically peak.

Honestly i agree, as for the anime the form functions differently due to how easy manipulating your ki in it is which is why altough it drains stamina (which is why in both the TOP and Broly Goku doesn't just straight up jump in it especially when he's drained) it's much easier to master and evolve which is why there's sub sets of the form like blue kaioken and blue evolution that take advantage of that nigh perfect ki control. Now it does get powercliff but with how dragon ball is it really shouldnt be a suprise, in Z the cast legit get powerups in every arcs so it happening in Super shouldnt be a suprise, also with the path Goku and Vegeta now take it makes sense for them to use their godly/angelic forms more and more in the story

I definitely like how the manga handled Blue much more, the fact that SSG is still used in basically every arc and having Blue be the emergency form so to say made Blue still feel powerful while also not neglecting SSG, hell the manga even has Goku use SSJ3 more than the anime. Then with the Granolah arc the concept having Goku apply UI to his other forms could help give them relevance again in future arcs although I wish it would’ve been explored more outside of him quickly using SSGUI and against Granolah

At least Blue's still the main combat form. It did get spammed too much though, I prefer the manga kinda saving it more since the anime just used it whenever even with fodder like Kale. Used well after Ultra Instinct was introduced and Goku used it against Granolah and Gas despite having MUI on command already. Vegeta's side is worse since he just spams Ultra Ego the rest of the arc, only using it again when fighting Gohan. Goku only didn't use it when spanking Gohan cause he wanted to just see Blanco.

I like comparing blue in the manga to a match. Flipping blue on and off slowly like Vegeta did in the Universe 6 tornament is like lighting a match then blowing it out after a few seconds. It’s now hard to get it burning again and is normally a waste Keeping blue active is like keeping the match lit until the wood fully burns. Flipping between god and blue is like sparking a match but not fully lighting it. You still get small bursts of heat or power but it lasts way longer than method 1 Perfected blue is like having a match that isn’t fully lit but is instead smoldering with intense heat. Keeping the same heat and power as a lit match but making it last way longer

My biggest gripe with ssb is that it was a totally unnecessary form to begin with, we had ssg which was an unexplored power with unknown upper limits in the BOG movie, and then next time we see goku and vegeta in the ROF movie not only has the super saiyan god power been apparently mastered, but it’s also been surpassed and essentially thrown away Like why was it necessary for super saiyan god to become even more super when we’ve literally only seen it for like 15 minutes of total screen time up to that point?

I think it makes perfect sense that it wasn't needed very long, since Super Saiyan is nothing else than an advanced form of Ki control. Super Saiyan God isn't a Super Saiyan form, it's Base Saiyan using God Ki. That they would quickly figure out how to stack their natural transformation on top of a second base state makes a lot of sense imo. Is it sad that SSG didn't have more screen time, absolutely, but the radical growth at least makes sense. However, there is no implification at all that it was mastered, SSG and SSB both clearly weren't very mastered, they were leaking Ki like crazy and ate stamina almost worse than SSJ3. Mastered was still far away until the Goku Black Arc.

@@realmasker8647 You are wrong on so many levels. Divine Ki is higher density Ki. It's not a different form of Ki, it's a different form of Ki control. Whis explains this very well, both in the manga and the anime. In the manga battle between SSG Goku and Beerus absorbing the power is never mentioned, while in the anime it's indirectly implied. We aren't talking about the absorbing of God Ki though, since God Ki is a state of mind, not its own Ki. Whenever Goku/Vegeta increase their pressure to God Ki, their hair turns red. That is their own SSG. Ritual SSG is different, ritual SSG is achieved by increasing the Ki pressure to Divine Ki by an outside source, also affected by the soul aimlessly travelling the universe of the first ever Super Sayain, Yamoshi. That was stated in an interview directly by Toyiyama. First of, Res F is way too short to be taken as actual information. Also, just because Frieza has even bigger stamina problems doesn't mean Vegeta/Goku don't. In the manga Vegega loses to hit because he used SSB too early against Cabba. While fighting Goku Black he uses SSG and transforms into SSB for the additional power but he cant maintain it for long. Goku Black has similar Ki to Zamasu, but it's not his. To be even more precise, at the beginning he cant even use the Goku's cells to transform SSJ. He then learns that and then immediatly learns how to add Divine Ki, creating SSR. SSR is SSB but with Zamasu's malicious Ki. Dragon Ball fans just never read their own show it seems.

Divine Ki is the result of a much more pressured and controlled Ki, that's all it is. And of course where the gods surprised, it's probably the first time a mortal achieved ultra instinct. Hakai is btw. exactly the same, Hakai is nothing else than a much more powerful Ki Blast, thst achieves such a level of destruction it is beyond atomic erasing, but it's still just a ki blast in the end. 2. You are way too hung up on just Res F. Do I have to remind a second time that Ritual Super Saiyan God and transformed Super Saiyan God are not the same. Vegeta and Goku had over 8 months of training with Whis under their belt by the time of Res F. Of course were they able to control SSB better than Ritual SSG, are you dumb? Also, Divine Forms are all about Ki Control, that's why SSG despite being much more powerful than SSJ3 consumes less stamina, since less Ki leaks their bodies. It's so fucking simple. 3. Zamasu does have a God Ki, I literally said that. But not in his Goku Black base form, that's why they didn't recognize Goku Black as Zamasu. They say his Ki felt similar, but not the same. Even once Zamasu uses SSR he steals doesn't have the same Ki signature as normal Zamasu, because Goku Black is Goku Black, not Zamasu. They're not the same being, which is literally stated in the manga and anime too.

In the Anime I wouldnt say it was handled bad or was unearned. I say it did better in the manga because they didn’t need to go through the whole “Mastered Super Saiyan Blue” creating another branch of it. We see in the anime Whis made it a point for Goku and Vegeta specifically learn how to keep their godly ki in them and maintain their stamina. Ssjb during RF shows they had bad stamina but that is due to them freshly using it after achieving it. But after RF it makes entirely a lot of sense for Goku and Vegeta to master the form to better handle the stamina drain and keep their god ki from leaking. Cause well they are fighting geniuses. I just personally don’t agree that they needed a training arc or a massive battle to show us that they mastered the form. Maybe better explained? Yeah sure, but i think regardless it was handled better than the Manga since they knew they had those issues but instead of trying to improve it spent majority of their time trying to increase their base power, until Goku pulled out Mastered Blue from nowhere.

Appearance: super saiyan god did a cool idea making goku look thinner in the form so my eyes rolled when super saiyan blue makes goku more buff but the super saiyan blue hair dye is cool and pleasing to look at, probably best hair style/color in the series Usefulness: at the cost of strength it expenses stamina to even keep going so fans can see more, that’s my problem with vegito now this so it’s cool they did the perfect super saiyan blue idea but now it damages the body from the inside and goku and vegeta need perfect ki control, there are 3 disadvantages for the sake a one shot then failing for the plot Narrative: once again we get a new form created to become stronger for the sake of strength that roshi had to point out goku is a martial artists yet he’s learned nothing, before ultra instinct goku had a similar mind set to jiron on strength above all 1.5/3

I think the big problem is just how it’s introduced. They get the new, flagship form pretty much off screen immediately after they got SSG. I think if they were to have used SSG for an arc or two, and then have them unlock Blue through an iconic transformation scene, like how they got SSJ and SSJ2, then it probably would’ve been received much better

My only problem with Blue is the fact it took the spotlight from god Far too quickly. Although I’m aware the manga sort’ve rectified this but it’s more so a cooldown form for blue. Had they introduced blue like an arc later or even in the black arc then yeah it would be fantastic. Like for ROF we could’ve just written it so it was god Vegeta and godku vs Frieza instead and either keep the original ending or have god vegeta appear for the first time in the series to kill Frieza. Then in the U6 Arc have blue introduced to beat Hit. Like the manga did sorta. Or even in the Goku Black arc as a solution to fight them or in that really weird goku rage scene against black and Zamasu. The problem of blue isn’t the form itself. I think it being slowly progressed in the series allowing different mechanics of it to be fleshed out is a good thing but they should’ve gave god more showcases as the main form and then later introduce blue. SSB the concept is great. SSB execution (in the anime) is bad. The manga did what it could and it was really good for the most part. But I’m not gonna conform and say it’s a favourite form of mine it’s not. I prefer god, Ui omen and I know people gonna argue with me but (purely design wise and how goku acted with it) I like SSJ4. I’m not saying it’s a better form than blue mechanically I just like the design of 4 more and that’s ok. But Blue on its own without the bad introduction in the movie or debatably bad timing of when to show it losing the weight of SSG. SSB is actually pretty solid

Now I dont hate super saiyan blue. I actually think blue is pretty cool. I'm just an old head that prefer the concept and design of ssj4. It was a really cool design rather than it just being extended gold hair, or gold hair with electrical aura, and the concept of it being tied to that of Oozaru just felt cooler to me. However I can vibe with SSB too.

Yeah, for me, SSJB is just the middle of the ground for me I don't like it, but I don't hate it. The problem I had with it was it basically shoved SSJG to the side for a new form SSJB (Even though I understand why.). 😑 Which is why I liked how they kept SSJG relevance doing the whole God to Blue switch method in the manga. 👍 I think what would've been better is if Goku or Vegeta were able to discover SSJB during their battle against Frieza instead of saying they discovered SSJB offscreen while training under Whis. 🤔

I believe the true reason for the hatred is the anime's handle of the transformation. The lack of using the God form compare to Blue is one, there seemed to be no growth to transformation like with SSJ in the Cell Saga and the forshadowing of SSJ2. And obviously, RoF alongside the problem of seeing the transformation getting the most losts out of any transformation in the series. (By number not percentage) The transformation is actually pretty cool, if done well could have been a lot people's favorite. Like don't deny that Goku going Blue Kaioken was one of the hypest moments in the series. The One Inch Punch to Frieza and Vegeta getting the beating he deserved to Frieza. Perfect Blue Goku Dogging Zamazu Or seeing Vegito and Gogeta just going Blue. All really cool moments for the transformation but with a lot more, seeing too much of it and seeing it get beaten all the time.

The concept of blue is good but they made it look bad as a generic form and we just god super saiyan god and Toriyama said that it took 10 months to achieves this but it doesn’t show the amount of time put into it in the anime

My only gripe is that Frieza was right. “Super Saiyan with blue hair dye”, YES😬😐 Like, it could’ve just been that color with the hairstyle looking different, but no, Super Saiyan was brought back and made to look more OP but as a different hair color. I do like the abilities of it and that it has an evolved state

If super saiyan god was used in the anime as much as the manga, it wouldn't be as hated. Blue isn't bad but like many I just find the original god form to be more interesting.

For the manga it was ok, they didnt just discarded the other forms In the anime other forms basically evaporated it was Blue for EVERYTHING: golden Frieza, blue ok Krillin and roshi, blue why? No reason just because In the anime it was so unecessarly used for EVERYTHING that people hate it, simple as that. And the introduction didnt help at all, everyone was expecting ssj god to appear and obliterate Frieza, instead we get a "stronger" form that appeared almost out of nowhere, getting kicked by frieza who trained for 4 months

Maybe if it wasn't massively inferior to the Villain's form in the arc it was introduced maybe it would have been loved. Not to mention that it massively undermined a much cooler looking form in Super Saiyan God.

The other argument that I do agree with is how Blue almost always never seems to give the two saiyans an edge in fights. To this day, the best display of Blue, in my opinion has to be Goku vs Hearts in Dragon Ball Heroes. Granted, Naotoshi Shida makes anything a million times better. But the form genuinely feels powerful in that episode, and we're talking about a shorts anime promoting a game!

SSG, UI and SSB are way better than ss3 and Ss4. What these got is originality, a reason, an introduction, bad ass moments with new techs, evolution and look more original by changing aura and sound effects. Only cuz "THE DESIGN IS LAZY" doesnt mean ss3 ≠ larger hair. Ss3 and ss4 lack of: - Evolution: they appear and nothing else changes - introduction: they appear out of nowhere without any hints (ssg was mentioned since beginning of BoG, SSB is mentioned in anime since the beginning of the arc F resurrection, UI is an ACTUAL GETTING BACK TO THE ROOTS since it convines every training goku had.) - concept: they appear out of nowhere. Ss4 had potential but nah its just controlled big super saiyan ape with a whole new color path. - deepness: they just exist NGL 😂 - potential: the god forms gained concept and made people do theories about 'em. With their descriptions, its easy to create new variants from the god forms. EXAMPLE: Ssg= saiyan with unleashed raw godki. Beyond (base form in F resurrection)= controlled godki implemented to base (kinda like mastering super saiyan in cell saga) Ssb= saiyan convining raw godki with supersaiyan. Ssb kaioken= ssb is a calm and controlled state. This fots with the kaioken. UI= state of the mind where the body moves by pure instinct and reduces reaction time's limit making faster reactions. MUI= perfected ui. Changes eyes, hair and shows an aura since it fits the saiyan nature of constant transforming to adapt new powers to a form (like SSG) And BTW these get HUGE evolution unlike ss3 and ss4

Somebody said it. Finally somebody said it. I agree with you 100%. if Blue had a better and more reasonable introduction in super, then it wouldn't get NEARLY as much hate as it gets now. Aesthetically this form is gorgeous (the aura and its sound is peak), design wise it's pretty lackluster because it's super saiyan with blue hair, I can't deny that. It has huge potential to become a much more fearsome form, many more creative concepts that make sense with its principles that will make the form 10x more appealing if not even more.

tbh I feel like Blue should’ve been just Super Saiyan God but it’s a different color scheme to suit Vegeta now that I think about it. And whoever else receives or accomplishes Super Saiyan God would get a different hair color and aura as well because of it reflecting on their Character and such. Vegeta being one that fits the Blue Color Scheme because it represents his mixture of Confidence and Stability and such. Goku wouldn’t obtain the Blue Form because he’s not about all that as much as Vegeta is.

Blue ruined god because we just had god for a moment just for the literal next movie to have blue introduced. If blue had been introduced in the Universe 6 arc or Black it would’ve been better. But I do agree in the Manga treats both forms WAAAY better

I love ssjb it's just that is quickly took over ssjg in the anime and was underwhelming as an introduction to blue, otherwise i find it a cool form that i feel is somewhat deserved since only goku and vegeta have it

Issue with SSJ forms in general is that all of them are the same thing ability wise, SSJ1 to base SSB is just that. From SSJ1-3 you only gain more power, no new interesting ability and if anything the drawbacks just increase for the character to overcome later or just forget about it in favour of a new form ( looking at you SSJ2 and SSJ3 ) SSG supposedly has healing abilities but that is never shown well. perfected blue is the closest to a Transformation since Goku used Hakai in it but he never goes back to using it which is a shame since the aura going to his arm while he charges it is really cool. Enter Ultra Instinct, and Destruction energy. While these forms provide everything you want out of a form they have 1 issue, the writers seem to think that giving the abilities exclusive to these forms to lower forms is a good idea when it only serves to reduce its identity, What is ultra instinct without the ability to separate the mind and the body exactly just a power up for Goku to use, giving this ability to Goku's lower forms is not a good idea be it worse or stronger. We already know that destruction energy is not exclusive to UE based on SSB and SSBE using it but at the very least you still have the ability to grow mid fight by adapting to your opponent, Oh wait that's just saiyan physiology......

SSJ2 has literally no drawbacks, it's just ssj1 but looks cooler and is more powerful. Id argue ssj1 should've immediately been forgotten when SSJ2 was introduced, there's no reason for a character to use a blatantly inferior form like ssj1 just because it's more iconic.

I dont hate it, but neither i like it. I prefer ssjg or ssj3 for example over blue. Its not a terrible form, just not a form I particulary like. Also in general saying that "blue is the best saiyan form we have gotten after ssj2" is heavily contentious. Not saying it im right and your wrong, but its also def not right. Especially since if u compare narrative and lore with ssjg and then blue, ssjg factually should be better in every category.

Super sayin 4 had pretty good look and had interesting set-up. The baby saga was all about the history of sayins so it was pretty poetic ti witness the pinical of the sayin race. Not through hate or rage. But rather through pride and the desire to protect. Plus the primal look goes hard af. But still i like blue better. It's a pretty simple design and i especially liked the version of it in the broly movie.

Super saiyan blue is actually my favorite form and looks so cool especially in the broly movie and i respect it a lot but it's hard to for others and i understand because they did ssb dirty because there should've not been that many characters as strong as ssb which causes a bad introduction to the form and evreytime it's used it has failed some times so that's why Other characters needed to be weaker than ssb and that's a fact because ssb is really strong

SSB and SSJ4 both are great! It always felt like blue has more depth and yet more to show coz its such a level of power which goku and Vegeta aren't able to access properly since it's really that hard to master to harness it's full potential that's why they keep on losing sometimes but still Go for blue because it's really a divine form perfect for a fighter with godly energy SSJ4 unlike blue still had a great introduction and showing it's reference to Saiyan roots, it feels like a proper form balanced in all aspects and which Goku and Vegeta can be in the form without any stamina or ki issues and they are still powerful enough, not sacrificing power for more stamina as in case of SSG and yes the design is top notch!! For ssj4, so yes i prefer both forms as Dragon Ball is not one continuity We have og continuity, Z, Z movies, Super manga, Super anime, GT, SDBH...all are different continuities for fans to enjoy so love and enjoy whatever you want, toriyama has created a timeless masterpiece for generations!!! 😊❤

My main complaints for ssb is that it looks boring even though it’s just a colour change of Ssj and in the anime it takes over way to quick like ssg (which is my fav form so I am a bit bias)have one arc to show off but blue comes in and we get no new forms for 2 sagas and we only get mui and ssb evo as late ark forms (and no I’m not considering ssb kaioken to be a new form because unlike ssb it’s not somthing new it’s just a add on)

I liked SSJ Blue for the color it has, especially SSJ Blue Evolution, as well as it is a godly form, I like the the god forms more than SSJ4, who doesn’t want to enter the Realm of the Gods? Also… Choose your path: - Primal Power (SSJ4 and above) - Realm of the Gods (SSJ God and above)

Super Saiyan 4 does drive the story? The baby arc is all about what the Saiyans originally did, so Goku going back to his roots with SSJ4 makes sense. Additionally the way he got it also makes sense. Goku turns into a mindless golden great ape but through the help of pan and the earth he gains control of a form needed to stop baby, the arc before this was all about setting up these relationships (Even if it did it poorly). SSJ4 is visually one of if not the best form in the series and thematically fits the story very well. I’d argue only SSJ and SSJ2 beat it in that regard.

My issue with it is how it disrespects and removes the coolness of SS God. When I watched the beerus movie, SS God was insanely hype. To my knowledge, the concept of SS God is that it channels the power of THE GOD OF SUPER SAIYANS, so it should turn Goku INTO A GOD. it straight up required a ritual to activate it. I assumed it was going to be an extremely powerful form that Goku uses rarely for powerful opponents. But nope, SS blue shows up and steals the show, making SS God obsolete. Also, it doesn't make much sense as to why he becomes blue, since it's a mix between SS and SS God. It should be orange or something.

I believe the reason that blue is hated is not just because of the design of the form, but because this form took more L's than most other forms in the series. Super saiyan Blue really didn't finish the job when it came to taking down the opponents and there wasn't really any hint to this from being a thing in the series, ot just happened out of the blue. If this form actually won some of its battle when is was a thing, thing I don't think people would have a problem with this form.

I feel like the amount of hate for RoF is a bit much. I get the criticism for the movie, because of the introduction to Blue, the lazy design for Golden Frieza, and Vegeta not killing Frieza. But CMOOON… The movie itself is bringing back one of the most iconic anime villains of all time, and he has a fifth form this time! (Even though it’s just a lazy color change for his fourth form) but it still looks pretty neat for Frieza and fits well for him in my opinion. While I do have a lot of problems with blue, I still think it fits Goku’s character better than SSJ God. The bright blue color for the hair and aura gives him a sense of purity and calmness. The battle between Blue Goku and Golden Frieza was well animated, entertaining as hell, and a nostalgic callback to the Namek arc. As for Vegeta not killing Frieza, that is a valid criticism for the movie. But I wouldn’t let these small problems ruin the whole movie. BoG is understandably better for many reasons, but RoF is not entirely as bad as people say it is. Heck, it even got good reviews from critics for a reason. Overall the movie ain’t half bad and deserves a lot more love than it got! The arc on the other hand is a different story…

God ki shouldn’t have even been a thing. The fact that broly has 0 and beats goku and vegeta shows how the concept makes no sense. God ki logically should make everyone who doesn’t have it a cake walk to beat or it shouldn’t exist. The balancing makes no sense. The fact goku could do nothing against beerus until getting god shows that this is how it should work. Then they just throw away the concept making god a meaningless concept

its a really good concept, just executed some what poorly. its written really well in the manga, i think all it needed was for the anime to write it better as well as being renamed to super saiyan god, while the actual ssjg would be renamed to saiyan god

The thing I never understood about Dragon Ball fans despite being one is them hating on ss3 or ssB like saying those forms are useless because they don’t when fights and stuff but them I’m like SSB would completely destroy a SSG the form is literally stronger but just because one transformation has more ones then another they act like that form is stronger
