I like how the moment Krillin yells out "One!", Cell immediately gets up, it's like he doesn't want to be counted out by Krillin!

"If you're asking me to get naked, I'm not going to say no..... though I really shouldn't say yes....." Goku was about to turn that fight into a completely different kind of wrestling match.

It’s amazing how quick this entire abridged series can be finished, yet it was and is still popular today

GETTING DAD FLASHBACKS is one of the most subtle but hilarious lines in this episode. Can tell trunks has ptsd or something from when vegeta final flashed cell 😂

Cell's voice actor is tremendous but the delivery on the "..you bitch" to Goku was phenomenal.

Perfect Cell has Zarbon's DNA change my mind. Also, I love how, as we start seeing in this episode, Cell got from one version of creep to another with his transformations: -Imperfect Cell is the creep that does weird shit out in the open without any shame -Semi-perfect Cell is the very forceful guy who doesn't take no for an answer -Perfect Cell is the "nice guy" who acts all confident and seducing but gets violently angry when things don't go the way he wants.

It's always great watching people who don't know the series see Goku toss that senzu. It's just so... So... So bad. The shock is hilarious. She really had that concerned, dissapointed mother face the entire rest of the episode, it was beautiful.

Gohan is a lot stronger than Goku. Through the fight he believes that Goku is holding back, but it's just that Gohan is comparing their energies together

I enjoy how all Goku got out was "Sen" and Bethany immediately went "NO!" And Ken, you looked like you took a moment like "Wait, did he actually throw it to Cell?" Can't wait to see the reaction to the finale!

Wow did Cell get blue balled this episode. He almost had his perfect death, at the end of his perfect fight, at the hands of his perfect man. Then Goku basically just said "Psych!" right before Cell's big climax.

Cell surviving Goku's Kamehameha is a actually a huge plot hole as Cell himself specifically states that he regenerates from a small mass in his head. But this is later retconed from him being able to regenerate from a single cell

I’m like 2 months late or so, but an underrated part of the reaction was how tense Bethany got when Goku and Cell nearly rung out when they were on the edge. They have tons of more subtle reactions throughout the whole series that I love catching. You guys are very colorful lol

The Goku and Gohan Dynamic is like the father who wants to live vicariously through his son or impose his dreams onto his son and ignores who his son really is. And the piccolo Gohan dynamic is a father who is trying to help his son be the best version of himself that he can be.

I would say maybe try out the first series Dragonball. Good laughs and enough edge of your seat action to keep you in.

You could tell it was the vegeta in cell talking because he called him Kakarot instead of Goku like he usually does.

The Instant Kamehameha is one of my favorite moves in all of DBZ/DBS. It's a prime example of why Goku is a fighting genius. If only Goku had known Cell could regenerate, he might've been able to finish him off and win the fight right there.

I am SOO HYPED for Hellsing Abridged. The first 2 episodes are a bit jenk, but since they made 1 episode a year, you can really see the increase in quality from episode to episode. So freaking excited!!

The reason Goku gave Cell a bean was to push Gohan to his limits and break it but ends really did not justify the means

To be honest, I figured Bethany's reaction to Goku sending Gohan out was going to be closer to Chi Chi's. Can't wait for the Finale, an absolute masterpiece.

The stinger at the end was a reference to Mr. Satan's daughter, Videl (anagram of devil, ha) being Gohan's future wife. Y'all's reaction to Goku tossing the senzu bean to Cell was priceless! You're going to love episode 60; it's the best work that TFS ever did with DBZA, IMO. If you want another Abridged series to react to after this one, I'd recommend LittleKuriboh's Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged. It's the original Abridged series; the one that inspired TFS to start in the first place. LK is quite talented in his own right, as evidenced by his Freeza performance in this series.

Very good point in mentioning that Goku right now, sees Gohan as a mini version of himself. He'll find out soon things aren't that simple.

Something I didn't mention on patreon is just HOW MANY times I watched this episode. While most episodes came out every few months, we would have to wait a full year before episode 60 would come out. The anticipation was insane, and I would keep watching 59 over and over while waiting. Sure, we got eradicate Christmas that December, but it would still be another 7 months before the fun episode would come out in 3 parts across 3 weeks.

There are animated shorts and a spinoff series by TFS. They're called DragonShortz and HFIL, respectively. Just note that HFIL is not done yet.

Fun fact... Or not so fun fact depending on how you see it. The thing about Roshi watching Bulma poop was not a joke. He actually watched her go number 2 in the original Dragon Ball (when Goku was a child) after using a device that shrunk him. Don't remember the episode to well and I'm not even sure if it was canon or filler, but it happened. Yeah, original Dragon Ball had some weird moments. Like the time Goku sent a rabbit to the moon.

What many people fail to realize, even from the original, is that Gohan is already stronger than Goku before the fight begins. It’s just than Cell was toying with Goku, but fucks with Gohan to make him transform.

First: Yeah, Goku really did this.! Second: Cell never get the satification to beat Tenshinhan !

This entire episode was awesome because we got to see so many of the personalities on display, but also got to see how adaptive Goku is in combat. I freaking loved seeing Videl (Mr. Satan's daughter) as she watched the Cell Games, and I know we're probably never going to get the Saiyaman and Buu arcs from TFS, but I'm going to love to see her and Gohan's interactions when you watch Kai. On a personal note, you are going to absolutely love the Hellsing Ultimate Abridged series.

In all of Dragon Ball History,I still think Goku giving Perfect Cell a Senzu Bean is maybe the most controversial Character decision any individual character has ever made in this series history, next to maybe all of them deciding to not Kill Dr Gero after they were Warned about the coming Androids by Trunks.

Such a shame TFS stopped after the cell fight. I get it. It has to be exhausting making these but it still sucks.

A few things you should know: With the original series Goku doesn't just suggest Gohan is the strongest, but fixates on it. He talks to Gohan and asks if he had ANY trouble in keeping up with their match or feeling overwhelmed. Gohan not only said no, but thought his dad was holding back quite a bit, to which Goku replies that he was "giving it his all". Gohan isn't just the strongest there. He, while suppressed, is VASTLY the strongest fighter there. The reason for the senzu bean you'll find out in time. Also love the reference to Madeline Kahn "Flames... on the side of my face..."

For reference on Chi-Chis threat, a typical daikon radish from the produce section is about the size of a bundle of celery

The Instant Kamehameha... One of the most powerful versions of the Kamehameha to exist at this point. Even Cell was terrified at possibly getting by that! And that alone says a lot! 😨

Cells speech while he's waiting on goku to fire his kameha attack is amazing. Bc he has goku's dna as his genetic structure he assumes he knows goku but goku did a complete 180 and blind sided manz. Trunks had a point. Vegetas speech was hilarious, only to be let extremely down.

I'd like to point out that out of everyone in the entire world that Goku could've suggested as his replacement, Mr Satan was the one person he could not nominate, since he'd already made an attempt and lost fair and square via ring-out.

Piccolo can only regenerate so long as his head isn't damaged.

I love you guys so much... I watched this series episode by episode as it came out and to see such amazing people enjoy it just as much as I did and not just that, but love the characters and the writing and the jokes as much as i did... its incredible. You guys are amazing and I can't wait to continue this journey of abridged and dbz with you. Thank you, seeing you two grow into it and embrace and just have a great time watching this has been an so fun for me, and I'm sure all of the dbz community present. Satan's daughter's name is Videl. In the original series, she and Gohan get together after some superhero secret identity hijinks.

So I'm sure you already know this, but Hercule's daughter at the end there is Videl. She's the one who later meets Gohan in high school and marries him after the Buu Saga (which was unfortunately not adapted into DBZA due to TFS ending the series). The scene wasn't in the original series as Videl wasn't even a character until the Buu Saga came around so this was a cute addition made by TFS.

This is why when people say that DBZA is better than the real show, I say hell no. The show has Goku explain why he sends Gohan in so much better because it's not focusing on making a joke of everything. Goku didn't even train or seem worried in the week leading up to the Cell Games because he had so much faith that if he couldn't beat Cell, Gohan would be able to. Goku asks Gohan if he thought that Goku and Cell were holding back during the battle and Gohan says yes. Goku says that they were both going all out, but that it only seemed like they were holding back because Gohan was comparing their power with his own.
