These bootleg DBZ figures remind me of the early days of eBay, where there was a notorious seller that sold bootleg DBZ figures as authentic His ratings and reviews were so abysmal that he turned off the public view Yes, apparently in the old days you could hide your rating from potential Byers on eBay, which defeated the entire purpose of rating
You used to be able to leave feedback for anybody as well, even if you had no auction transactions. my friends and I used to leave each other positive feedback with really ridiculous messages. Here are some of our favorites: "The roads were closed; but the seller trekked through 30 miles of snow on foot to hand delivery the package to me. My uncle Mungo will be pleased with the item." "My Father loved the assortment of lightly soiled socks and boxer briefs. He trusted me that they were brand new and didn't suspect a thing!"
No, Super Saiyan Gohan's hair isn't wrong. He's clearly achieved Super Saiyan Black! Which means Zamasu must have used the Dragon Balls to possess him and become Gohan Rose! Or something like that. Whatever.
Makes as much sense as the dragon ball super does. Wouldn't be surprised if they had a super Saiyan black at some point since they just put whatever random color after the gold one. Blues more powerful than gold for some reason, whites more powerful than blue what next purple more powerful than white? Show became nonsense.
You’d think Goku would be the one with the weird head growth under his hair. He’s the one that got bashed in the skull so hard as a baby that he turned good.
Good eye on the CE logo there buddy, & the guy next to Gogeta on the A “set” was a character that went the way of the dinosaurs before he could even get any screen time, but don’t worry, he had his parachute lol
Set is also the Egyptian God of deserts, storms, disorder, violence, and foreigners in ancient Egyptian religion. I guess it makes sense that they used an Egyptian god name for this bootleg character long before Lord Beerus.
Seems like the guys from "Another Anime" are actually figures from Dragon Quest's anime:Dai no Daibouken. The guy featured alongside Gogeta being the series's hero,Dai.
I love how Gohan looks like he has a gun on a stick. Like there is some street cart vendor selling guns on a stick like they were corn dogs. Also the black hair Gohan on the card is funny to me because the original reason for making the Super Saiyan hair blonde was to save time and money on the manga since they wouldn't have to fill in the hair. Seeing a cheap bootleg do the reverse is kinda funny.
Vegeta vs. Beauty Vegeta: "your father's an average merchant, but a brilliant reader of creepypastas and after 5 minutes and 48 seconds, he invented this technique: a hyperrealistic water balloon. This hyperrealistic water balloon makes you completely useless." Beauty: "that's it?" Vegeta: "I never said he's a brilliant fighter." *water balloon drops to the ground * Vegeta: "oh jazz, now I am completely useless! Let's call it a draw. It's Sunday and your father tells me some creepypastas today." Beauty: "actually... It's Tuesday." Vegeta: "too bad it's Tuesday. I have to wait until Sunday to hear his brilliant storytelling." Wabuu: "this fight is sooooooooooooooo stuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupid." FIGHT INTERRUPTING BEAR King MAGAWD: "It's not done." Tien: "as a matter of fact: it isn't"
"You can tell all about this character in the comments" MY TIME HAS COME... nah, not much to say, guy A looks like Dai from the Dragon Quest manga/anime. Guy D looks like the same body but with Supersaiyan Trunks head?
@@gracekim25 Not a bad way to learn stuff, really. Occasionally the Xenoverse games slip up on a few details for the sake of gameplay (or just due to clumsiness), but all in all you’ll get a pretty good picture of most of the key story events-remarkably so, considering those games aren’t even really meant to be a dedicated chronicle of the series like Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. (And even that game occasionally takes very slight liberties.)
Toriyama does the designs for the mainline dragon quest games but i'm no sure how much he was involved with Dragon Quest Dai as it was running in Shonen Jump the same time as Dragon ball's Frieza Saga until a year after the end of Dragon Ball Manga on top of the occasional one shot and Game Character design he did.
Set A does seem to be Dai and that's not just me being a fan of the anime (and slowly budgeting for the manga omnibuses), it's also likely because Toei produced Dragon ball and the Dragon Quest Dai's Adventure series
@@BloodrealmX He technically only does it for the games, Dragon Quest Dai's ADventure was illustrated by Koji Inada, the whole thing was separate from the games even if it took inspiration from them back in the 90s when the franchise was new
Pretty sure the sword the larger Saiyaman comes with is a bootleg of the side-arm swords from Gekisou Sentai Carranger/Power Rangers Turbo that came with the smaller scale figures. I don't recognize the gun, though.
@@CCLemon99 So it is. Good eye. I should have recognized it, but then it has been like 25+ years since I watched the Alien Rangers arc of MMPR. lol I was surprised I recognized the turbo sword right away, since I hardly watched Turbo then, and haven’t revisited it.
I never followed Dragon Ball, but I still love watching these videos and learning about the characters and how wrong the bootleg versions are. But that's insane how the bootleg version here has better articulation than the official one.
Excellent work on this video! It’s so ridiculous how “the great Saiya-Man” can barely hold his weapons! Ha haha! The ending segment was also very well done as usual!
I’ve actually been collecting some Dragon Ball Z figures recently from S.H. Figuarts, Dragon Stars, and Figure-Rise Standard. So far I have final form Cooler, Piccolo, Saiyan Saga Vegeta, Super Janemba, and Gogeta. Also, I noticed that you were parodying the intro to the Westwood dub at 0:16.
With the bare arms and even more ridiculous color palette? I almost think this is the Great Saiyaman that thought he had to be like a professional wrestler instead of a superhero and he just ripped his sleeves off while cutting a promo.
Poor Radish.... He came and got turned into a donut before anything interesting could be done with his character. I had him PEGGED as being more important than that! Get it?! I don't....
Actually, this character is probably canon in one of the many parallel universes from DB Super and DB Multiverse (the fan made sequel to Buu's saga... which apparently have been quite the inspiration for DB Super).
The guy in the A set seems look like Dai from the manga/anime "Dragon Quest : Dai no Daiboken", an adaptation of the video game "Dragon Quest" charater designed by Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball creators)
2:12 The SH logo is just cut off, the other half includes IT. ;) Always such weirdly ambitious changes like adding articulation, makes you wonder what the meetings are like at a bootleg factory with these crystal meth like business decisions. Like the more parts you add the more costly the knockoff becomes to make. O_o???
