Maybe the way to do it would be to make gummies rather than Jell-O. The ingredients would be mostly the same, you'd pretty much just be adding a bit of unflavored gelatin to the Jell-O mix to make it firmer. You could also cut the stars out of Fruit by the Foot or Fruit Roll-Ups to make them lighter (and therefore less likely to shift around).

Alvin's bravery to put out something related to Dragon Ball GT is impressive. I've seen DB fans online...

Consider making the stars with partially dehydrated strawberries. Strawberry stars will be buoyant and thus will float on the top of the bottom half as it solidifies.

I'm surprised you didn't do this with Agar Agar, its firmer so they would be more solid looking when jiggled, also sense the stars float, they could have been added to the bottom half when it was poured so they would have been more centered rather than pressing them in

when you add the stars, you should put bit of the jello on top of them and then let it set, then when they are semi set sen you pour the rest of the stuff, in to the mold then they stay in the middle, it is like working with resin,

I feel like you need a “anime grandmaster” to comb though all the 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s & 2010’s anime’s to find all the food items. Like the fact we are bending rules here to do “dragonballs” feels like the anime knowledge is severely lacking for a show titled “anime with Alvin”.

Alternate solution for the stars: after placing them, carefully and slowly pour a very thin layer over the stars, just enough to cover them, let that firm up and *then* pour in the rest for the other half.

GT love is great! The whole shadow dragon saga was easily one of the best parts of gt and a really cool way to make consequences for the character's actions throughout the series. GT was great, absolutely love it!

I think if you wanted to get the stars to stay in place you would place them on top of the set halves, then pour a little bit more of the jello on top, once it was set it would hold them in place so you could pour the rest in.

Maybe using a lower liquid ratio compared to the jello powder used would be better? Perhaps a dragonfruit flavored jello in order to be thematic? And since the stars float, you could add the stars right after you fill the first batch of moulds. Theyll stay on the surface but will still stick go the jello once it sets. Still dont get why the two jello pieces didnt stick. Though

Great work! Have you tried spraying the molds with cooking oil? WIth more intricate molds it's really hard to get the parts out, I'm wondering if this would get them to set together instead of separate pieces.

I realize it might be a bit difficult to cut through, but they do make mini sized cookie cutters. I have a set (wanted to make my own tiny cookies from one of the Sailor Moon movies. Just missing a real bunny shaped one that isn't made of crumply tin-foil.) It pains me to see the stars cut by hand when these exists. Since you know what videos you're doing in advance, it would have been easy to order or buy them in person somewhere. Oh well, I'm sure there's future videos you can use them in. If the patrern of the stars isn't gonna be perfect (which, c'mon, it doesn't HAVE to be), you could always just pour the gelatin into the mould with the top on so you don't have to worry about it setting in two halves, right?

Hmm, what you could do is make a star mold and make flavored jello inserts like strawberry or cherry. As for the ball itself, There's a popular dish called Raindrop cakes that would be absolute perfect. I believe it uses Agar-Agar as the thickening agent.

Nice try. I would have expected you to make spherical jello then use a syringe to inject tiny balls of red juice...since eating plain orange spherical jello can't be all that great, but if they had tiny pockets of incredible flavor, they just might boost your hype a lil' bit more. I feel like this could have been a fun science project on how to create crystals/stars inside a jello mold. That, or they could have been made more accurately as gigantic jaw-breakers (which would be an amazing feat if someone swallowed a jaw breaker...and didn't choke to death ;p).
