Wait....how did I not realize In the Serpent's Wake is connected to Tess of the Road (or even came out to be honest)? What a great excuse to go back and reread Seraphina, Shadow Scale, and Tess of the Road.

I LOVED Seraphina sooo much. l especially her coping mechanisms you mentioned. Really inspiring. Just finished Shadow Scale- I both loved & hated it. I just needed more of what Seraphina had. It was a little too different for me :/

I remember reading and loving this book as a teen in highschool and then I just completely forgot about it. I think I might need to do a reread and then finally read book 2.

ive only read serphina but i did love it all those years ago ... this has definitely tempted me to pick up shadow scale at ome point !!
