I liked this episode, hearing the matron talk to vax and seeing vex & keyleth worried about vax was nice. I hope scanlan and kaylie meet again and hopefully start talking to each other at least. Sorry this one took longer than usual I had to get a new camera and copyright was a bitch. Let me know any shows you think I would like.

This fight is so good at showing how strong these dragons are, their whole plan with the trap and the herds warriors fell apart so quickly, and this is probably just the weakest dragon of the 4 ;-;

"Burt" is a side reference to one of Scanlan's aliases - when trying to bluff his way out of Vox Machina's legal troubles, he would draw a mustache on his finger and call himself "Burt Reynolds Esquire". Which is funny, because Matt Mercer's (Sylas Briarwood, Umbrasyl) mother once played D&D with Darrin De Paul (Captain Stonefell from S1) back at Burt Reynolds Acting seminar back in the lat 1970's/early 1980's. It also led to the line in the show "You leave when Burt Reynolds tells you to leave". yeah, Vax is Fate-Touched. And the Matron doesn't like the idea of people like that messing with the skein of Fate.

@@AstroReacts1 Anybody having any influence on fate bothers the Matron, so she wants Vax working for her and had been waiting for the opportunity to make him her champion. Basically he can choose moments to make himself extra lucky. He can alter his own fate, but can't alter someone else's fate directly. He can do it indirectly, like making himself lucky in the moment he's trying to save your life. The Matron's main focus is the cycle of life and death. She loathes anything that stops that cycle, particularly the creation of undead creatures. She's not as hostile towards temporarily evading death, as long as you're not trying to live forever. (she still doesn't like it though)
