Humans and half-giants live under 100 years, though half-giants often would rather go out in combat than in their sleep. Half-elves like the twins can often top 180 years, gnomes can hit 500. Keyleth is looking at 1800+ years unless something terrible happens. I should warn you - this season is gonna hurt. A lot.
Yeah, I think the _Critical Role_ creators have said that now Keyleth is the Voice Of The Tempest, she ages _one year, every ten years._ So in 30 years, Kiki would only age 3 years.
I don't have all the details about the first campaign, the show got me I to critical role so I skipped it for spoilers. But out of the group Pike and Percy still don't vestiges.
I think the fey realm reacts negatively to the raven queen because she's all about the process of life to death. And the fey realm doesn't like rules like that.
Not too many theories (that wouldn't be spoilery anyways) about this opening, except that they'll probably dive into Keyleth's stuff a bit more. But I have way more theories about the trailer that just dropped than will fit in a youtube comment haha Most of them would be spoilery too, but I'll leave you with one: I think we'll see another party split, at least for a while. Much like the split they did in season two, this wasn't in the campaign, but might make sense from an adaptation perspective.
Hm.... I mean, how much time will pass in world this season is kind of hard to say. The events that they'll most likely cover took place over several weeks, maybe two months tops? But they've condensed the timeline quite a bit in the adaptation of both season 1 and 2, so I'd assume it'll be less than that in the show.
YAY I'm so happy you reacted to this! I'm excited but worried for this upcoming season because I can already tell it's gonna be darker at times & the stakes just feel so high already. And while S1 focused a lot on Percy and S2 focused on the twins/Grog, I think S3 is gonna be a lot about Keyleth/Scanlan/Pike with the other members featuring heavily as well. Also, if they have Scanlan sing the S2 recap like he did for S1 that would be amazing. Anyways... October 3rd is still too far away!! :')
1:01 Basically Keyleth has abandonment and anxiety issues. Her biggest fears come from how long she'll live. Specifically, high level druids start aging ten times slower than normal. Given her species and the fact that she's a prodigy, she could potentially live more than 1600 years. Very few creatures besides immortals live that long. She's already scarred by her mother never coming home. She will also live to see the consequences of her actions ripple through the world and future generations.
Why is Keyleth alone? Her fear is outlining all her loved ones. As a half elf she got two centuries i,think average. If she succeeds her quest and becomes a powerful druid her agi g slows to where she'll live a 1000 years. Remember the sphinx asking her if she was more afraid of failing or succeeding?
Nobody feels ok after Pike gets stabbed. Almost all of what happened in this episode was original to the show and didn't happen in the game... EXCEPT Grog accidentally stabbing Pike.
About the guy who Scanlan flirted with in season 1 and appears again as a spectator in Grog's dream: He's the animated version of Phil Bourassa. He's the guy who does the final designs of all the main characters. He's a very well known artist who works on DC cartoons a lot. Like on Young Justice.

Dude you pick up on everything. The little girl was Keeper yenan. She snuck into whitestone as the little girl then turned into the Keeper to get into the castle. Season 3 is going to be dope.
Vax and Keyleth (both with a Strength of 14) are stronger than Percy (with a 12). Pike naturally has a 13 in that score, as does Scanlan. Only Vex with a 7 is weaker than Percy. You can now check out the opening credits for S3 - it looks like they've upped the animation budget again. Vax's wings were done so much better here. in the campaign, he and Scanlan did go in the dragon, but it was Scanlan turning Grog into a Giant Eagle that saved them, and then Gilmore showed Vax the wings being part of the armor's enchantment.
So many awesome scenes in this one: Grog chasing "Umbilical" and getting on (not in) his ass hacking away, Kiki Airlines and Birdman Vax flying the crew to the next venue, Machina team work in the dragon's lair, and Scanlan hitting the opera high note to shatter UmbrASSyl's skull like a wine glass! What do they do best? Vox Machina fuck shit up!
Funfact: Scanlan Grandkids are voiced by Sam Riegels (the VAs) actual kids :D And yes, Scanlan harmonized with his sword, it's a weapon that was specifically made for bards :D
This fight is so good at showing how strong these dragons are, their whole plan with the trap and the herds warriors fell apart so quickly, and this is probably just the weakest dragon of the 4 ;-;
"Burt" is a side reference to one of Scanlan's aliases - when trying to bluff his way out of Vox Machina's legal troubles, he would draw a mustache on his finger and call himself "Burt Reynolds Esquire". Which is funny, because Matt Mercer's (Sylas Briarwood, Umbrasyl) mother once played D&D with Darrin De Paul (Captain Stonefell from S1) back at Burt Reynolds Acting seminar back in the lat 1970's/early 1980's. It also led to the line in the show "You leave when Burt Reynolds tells you to leave". yeah, Vax is Fate-Touched. And the Matron doesn't like the idea of people like that messing with the skein of Fate.
@@AstroReacts1 Anybody having any influence on fate bothers the Matron, so she wants Vax working for her and had been waiting for the opportunity to make him her champion. Basically he can choose moments to make himself extra lucky. He can alter his own fate, but can't alter someone else's fate directly. He can do it indirectly, like making himself lucky in the moment he's trying to save your life. The Matron's main focus is the cycle of life and death. She loathes anything that stops that cycle, particularly the creation of undead creatures. She's not as hostile towards temporarily evading death, as long as you're not trying to live forever. (she still doesn't like it though)
In the game, they got in there via Dimension Door spell, Vax was shrunk down, too, so he could fit lol When Kaylie went to stab scanlan, she actually was attempting to kill him after his unsuccessful persuading, but rolled a 1 on the attack, so Matt made it so she couldn't bring herself to do it, just barely causing the cut you see when he gets out from under the sword
Don't apologize for the hype! Such an amazing episode and fight! This was the first battle they had with a real map and miniatures in the campaign. The players got hype and the fight was amazing then and they did it such wonderful justice!
The song has nothing to do with Kaylee or her mom. It’s just a dirty bar song about masturbation, that is popular in this town. Scanlan referenced it in the previous episode. He said whenever he used to play in this town, he’d always close his gigs with this song.
This is my favorite episode to. The fight was amazing. Both of Scanlans songs are fun. For some shows to react to, you mentioned catching up with RWBY: Viz media just bought the rights to it, so we might be seeing more come out of that series sometime. You might enjoy Hazbin Hotel & Helluva Boss for the adult humor and music. Lackadaisy only has the pilot up on RU-vid, but its worth the watch. You mentioned Owl House, thats a good one and I recommend it. If you wanted to watch more things related to Vox Machina, you could watch the prequel game they did, Exandria Unlimted: Calamity. Its about the events that lead to the war were the vestiges were made. Its 4 episodes long but each one is like... 4-5 hours, so you may want to watch it in chunks rather than the whole thing.
@AstroReacts1 helluva boss and hazbin hotel take place in the same universe so watching one and then the other is pretty fun. Just make sure to find the pilot episode for both on RU-vid to watch first.
it really was an amazing episode, a great adaptation of one of the best combat episodes of their campaign - the animation team, the music, the voice acting - all rose to the challenge. I do think the animation gives away that Kaylie is related to Scanlan - they look so similar. In game, that scene actually happened before the dragons came, and then they ran into each other in Westruun when Vox Machina made their way there. This really worked well - "I'm daddy?" is hilarious.
Literally my favorite episode by far in this show right now, since you are looking for other shows to watch I think you should check out Scavengers Reign, its a pretty fun animated show about an alien planet.
In the game, they hit the Pokeball MedEvac when Grog had 1hp left. Vex was almost killed flying through the crowd, and Grog had zero chance of survival, but he dropped from 50 feet in the air and rolled a natural 20 to finish Kevdak. Also, they ended an episode mid-fight with Travis (Grog) yelling "Vox Machina, fuck shit up!" And we all had to wait a week to see how they would fo it.
You’re right about the gun getting more power, in a sense. When No Mercy Percy kicks in, he doesn’t have to reload anymore. The gun has six barrels, but Percy shot seven times while executing Stonefell.
