I mean, you can always play Amalgam in a sub-par non-meta deck like this one and make it work. This deck is objectively worse than real Face Hunter in every way, and real Face Hunter doesn't run Amalgam.

@@lich2395 You're suffering from the same problem as Ethereal right now, which is this - letting subjective observation take the place of OBJECTIVE DATA. Whether the established face hunter or Trump's dragon face hunter will play out in the win rates and that's basically the TRUE objectively better deck.

roslolian11 People said the nerfs didn't target the problematic cards, and were right. Did you expect the winrate to go higher with the nerfs or what? They didn't kill the problematic cards because they are featured this expansion, thus making it a bad martketing move. Wanna bet that if you give a class a card:"kill your opponent", but no early game plays, the class would suck because it gets run over? But is it good balance? No. You simply allow for such a thing to happen again when the card/archetype becomes somehow viable. In fact to counter rogue the meta has become all aggro, and half started playing anti-aggro in response. All this because they decided to not alleviate the pressure shaman gave to control decks, rendering them more viable, but instead to aggro. This is (this time around rushed too) artificial balance at its finest, blizzard's renowned practice

Connor Braithwaite Easy answer would be lower the business bar and allow proper balance at more costs. Now that we're stuck here, hitting shaman's endgame like Gala/Shudder would have resulted in control decks having more breathing room. Sadly you cannot fix the meta working on only one class, unless you don't care about half of the archetypes. Thus even after the shaman nerf (if even needed) some classes would have loved some buffs/reworks. Right now they're just fixing it with tape and hoping it will last long enough. Lazy balance if you prefer. The thing is, is really easy to say what is wrong, since there is one reality. But telling the "best" variation of future requires a lot of discussion and simulation. I can show you why and how this is fundamentally "wrong" in terms of design, but not in terms of outcomes. The cards they nerfed from last expansions should have never existed in the form they did in the first place: them nerfing them now is only admitting they have served their purpose as artificial promoters and can go. It will always come to a point where a class has too much of those, and just needs to be dealt with. (Edit+: the difference between a normal card and promoter is the power level.)

ramonestefano That's how face decks work. That's why they force the enemy to get consistent early game survival. If you begin teching against decks with answers you could not be fast enough to kill decks with no answers that just win if get enough turns, thus turning your deck in a worse midrange whatever. There's no wrong or right since it all depends on other decks as always, but if you think the deck is bad or doesn't make sense because it gets countered easily, you have yet to understand the nature of aggro. Aggro has never had high win rates. It always had higher climb speed. Meaning you had way less winrate than a well played contro/combo deck, but your games took like 5 mins while theirs 20+

ramonestefano Then you don't understand. If you happen in a mirror you get trashed by the arcane shot normal variant. There's a degree at which winning more against defensive decks doesn't matter because you'll start losing more against matchups you were previously winning. You can not like the style, but it's high risk high reward. There's no space for plan B. These are not low impact cards. They are low value cards, the impact is solely decided by the turn, matchup and manner. If you need to win early game against another aggressive deck they are super strong. You need to be fast enough to kill greedy decks, it's not your choice or preference, you're a guardian of the meta. You avoid the reign of clownfiesta, you punish the fools. This is the role of the aggro decks (please do not confuse with things such 4mana7/7 midrange shaman)

It's both too expensive and too inconsistent. Can you imagine people running Kill Command if it had a 50% chance to miss?

@@LeagueOfLou Aggro Hunter wins and loses games by very thin margins a lot of the time. Taking one more turn for lethal is often enough for say a Priest which is rising in the meta to heal out of range of your damage. Having a 6 mana 3/5 that does 5 damage randomly is not viable.

Just play the regular, and generally stronger, variant of face hunter. Without those dragon synergies there is no reason to even bother with this deck.

@@gavrilstefan4200 Yeah it's a shame you don't have Toxic Reinforcements. It's one of the best cards in the deck which helps explain why you are not doing well with the deck.

I would say that any low-cost dragon could replace the amalgam.

Sorry, my mistake, I think that the purpose of the amalgam is to have synergies with kill command (beast) and dragon cards so if you put a low-cost dragon it wouldn't be so bad, but you lose the synergi with kill command or other beast cards. (English is not my first language, I hope that you understand what I want to say Xd)

Poifix Quest priest runs the exact same cards as last meta, with no new cards added. So it can be countered for sure

@@krisi00n Having to think about countering 5 mana Obsidian Statues, 4 mana 3/1s with Obsidian Statues, 8 mana 6/8s with multiple Obsidian Statues, 10-Mana better Deathwing, Mad Aspects, the list goes on and on. It isn't particularly fun to fight against.

@@ishga1407 I wouldn't say it was *that* unexpected with the release of Stormhammer and Corrosive Breath. While they definitely seem to be more midrange oriented due to their dragon affiliation, they're still a perfect fit in such an aggressive deck because of just how much face damage they can provide.

@@janner2006 The dragon cards are not rated 1 stars and are not in the actual face hunter deck. I'm saying trump did not see a face hunter deck being tier 1 pre expansion. Nobody did. It just became a thing one week ago and now its everywhere thanks to Toast

@@lolosh99 Nah. Highlander Mage mostly. Ain't rich enough (nor got lucky with pulls) to make either of those. It just feels like you can counter both of them. I mean, if you silence apothecary, you pretty much just win. At least that's been my experience. And as for Shamans, that one's trickier but feels doable, especially if Shaman draws badly, or subpar. With face hunter, there's not much you can do if hunter draws well. And if they draw great you pretty much just lose. The amount of face damage they're capable of is... kind of ridiculous.

lifedrinker is a great way to hit face around taunts and heal a bit in the mirror. Dragonbane is a 5 mana 3/5 asking to be killed by just about anything
