Im having this variety of dragonfruit for 5 years now but i havent pollinated them ever, they pollinate on their own. I have got the pink variety n the red variety as well.i get to enjoy the sweet fruits every year from my 5 dragonfrut plants.(4 plants planted around a pillar and letting them grow as one,so these 4 plants i see them as one single unit/plant).
Thanks for watching! Those varieties of yours are self fertile or self pollinating. But this australian golden isis is a self sterile and needs to cross pollinate with fertile variety. I do not have pollinators at the rooftop to do the thing for me. So i prefer to do manual pollination.
Yes for all self sterile varieties because cross pollination is the only way to make them bear fruit. cross pollination is also hand or manual pollination. for self pollinating no need but hand pollination helps to have better fruits based on my experience.
Thanks for watching! Yes if the variety is self-sterile. you need to get pollen from a fertile variety to get fruit. In the video, I just do a manual pollination of a self-fertile variety where its pollen can able to make a fruit.
thanks for watching! May I know what is the variety of your dragon fruit? there are varieties that are self sterile meaning it could not bear fruit with their own pollen. you need to cross pollinate them with fertile variety. lack of sunlight ang soil nutrients and over watering are also factors of not getting fruit plus the temperature of your location.
@parkchardhyelleeporras3784 Thanks for your comment. A possible reason is the variety. It could be a self-sterile. Please see my previous comment on this video.
