Sunshine mix no. 4 and silica sand, I'll add additional perlite no. 3 works best, but perlite or pumice will help with drainage and aeration. I mix in a lil Coco Coir and top of with Worm castings.
@Hyundairobitdog the riser? You mean the trellis post? Originally for the dragon fruit aerial roots to hold on to. But they tend to hold moisture and cause bacteria formation. They last less than a year in the post. So for future trelis builds, I no longer use burlap.
Fruiting will happen when your branches are ready and mature enough. The less branches you have coming from the main stem will result in faster growth compared to one that is overgrown. Which will result in faster fruiting due to it getting more nutrients. The growth of your dragons will also vary based on your variety and climate. Tipping your branches is to induce stress, tells the branch it can't grow out anymore and needs to get fat. Once it's fat and happy it'll produce more branches or buds.
