Here's the story of my entry in the 2019 Dragon hike & Fly race, based in the Black Mountains in South Wales. It was a 50km race over two days, although five of us managed to finish the race on the first day, with me somehow in 1st place! It was a fantastic weekend, well done to everyone who took part, and many thanks to Ali and Rebecca (Team Evol - goteamevol.com) for organising such a successful event, which is now in its third year.

Great, why did you take full vol biv kit if deadline was 21:30?

Hi Tom, the deadline for moving was 2130, and at the beginning of the race I didn't know that I was going to be able to finish it in one day, so I carried volbiv kit because I was intending to camp in the hills. Quite a few other competitors decided to camp in the campsite so didn't bother carrying any vb kit - they got a lift back to the campsite from where they got to at 2130, then got a lift back to the same spot in the morning.
