For many Japanese , DQ is a once ever 3-4 year event. People who aren't hardcore gamers get excited along with the bigtime gamers. There's not really a need to queue, you can preorder, but there is something fun about the whole thing.
I don't know if this is true, but I heard that Dragon Quest videogames can't be launched on working days, only on sundays and holidays, because people would miss school or even work to get a copy of the game... I'd love to be there!!!
@RorschachAvenger actually something like this happened on the day of the Xbox launch. At the same location, there was a massive queue which was surprising to say the least. Turns out that it was the queue for the first season of 24 on DVD :/ Interestingly though, the smallest queue i've seen at Tsutaya was for the Nintendo DS launch (around 15 people). It was a Thursday launch of course but even so... and we all know how that turned out in the end :D
The DS is a joke you need to have eyes that can see very small words the graphics performance wasn’t that great I only bought a few games for the 2DS that I loved playing on the big console they aren’t close being the same finally Nintendo releases the real handheld console Nintendo Switch now where is the powerful Nintendo console
