I've got no mercy for these bird brains, since they crashed my cable cart twice already. It's on as soon as I see any Griffin violating Batahl airspace.
I always liked how griffins were made to be like an unofficial goal post in this game and the first. Whenever you finally have the power to consistently beat a Griffin in battle that's how you know you can start taking shots at fighting a drake.
Oh yeah, been there done that xD Climbed onto its head to do some stabby-stab with my spear and it wasn't gonna have any of that. Departed the field of battle outside of Vernworth with me still hanging on and somewhere above Harve it decided that the Griffin Express doesn't do charity rides. There is now one helluva crater on the beach near Harve xD
@@ZeZevil If you know where the Griffin's Nest is located in whichever region you're in, if the Griffin manages to escape from a fight, you should be able to find it at the nest still as injured as it was when it escaped. The nest in Vernworth requires you to pass through the Misty Marshes for a short distance. If you enter the Misty Marshes from the southeast side, follow the road for a short distance and then hug the left wall and you'll eventually come across a cliffside that you can climb, and once you climb all the way up you'll find the Griffin's Nest just outside of the Misty Marshes, and this particular nest is worth visiting at least once even if the Griffin isn't there, as there will be a Portcrystal, a Ferrystone, and a decent amount of gold sitting inside of the nest itself.
@@user-bp1be1yg2h Yea music is nothing alike but they both are thematically assholes that dive bomb you at the most inconvenient time. No poopa in this game though so you will have to settle for setting the Griffin on fire with extreme prejudice.
Honestly probably my fav monster in the game. A real motherfucker. The way that he'd attack you in the middle of combat with another monster and then fly away when he got hurt really made it feel like a kind of rivalry until I was able to down him consistently.
@@ozmintheobserver Honestly, the music in DD2 isn't bad really. I'd say it's great even, though not as impactful as the first. It'll be great if some talented DD fans can rearrange the scores of this game into DD1 metal style. I'm sure it'll be a blast to listen to.
@@zarudosdragis8963 I mean I've heard some good Scores. But it reminds me of how I feel about Armored Core right now. Kota Hoshino delivered bangers in past AC games. But the latest one comes out and has a Dark Souls like soundtrack, its jarring honestly. It's like Persona series scrapping the rock music for an Elden ring soundtrack.
@@theobell2002This one lacks the soaring quality of the first one. The first griffin song was intimidating but also very noble and so importantly gave the impression of flight. This song, meanwhile, feels like it could be slotted into any ol movie soundtrack.
Dragon's Dogma Griffin in first game - rare encounter Dragon's Dogma 2 Griffin - Have you heard of my cousin Bazelgouse? It is me but without explosions and just as often lol
At low level, my first Griffin I encountered three times. First time he kicked my ass but hurt him enough to force him to flee, second time I had the last goblin on its knees from a stun only for the Griffin to come and steal the kill and we had another fight that resulted in another flee. Third fight I remember seeing him and was like "we're fucking finishing this" standard Griffin fight, tries to flee. My fighter pawn is having none of that nonsense and she runs off a cliff and jumps in the air and clips the Griffin's wing while he is mid flight inflicting a knockdown. I walk over to it's head and do the killing blow with a fully charged indomitable lash That was the moment I realised my pawn is a badass and this isn't the Griffin's theme anymore for me. It's hers Pawn ID: XR2KGE8BA37K (Stonearm)
The music that plays when my good buddy George the Griffin is trying to get me off his back because he doesn't want to be my Taxi Service. Doesn't play when I actually fight him though, as that only lasts about 5 seconds.
Griffins in both games always felt like what capcom were intending for the monsters of MH if the series ever went open world. In dragons dogma its pretty much impossible to chase down a fleeing griffin but with mounts now a staple of the MH series I can see us tracking down monsters over large distances of sprawling environment.
Been checking every day since release for someone to put this track up. Best track in the game. Wish I could set it to play in more than just griffin fights.
bruh I was still at lv 15 with my party and saw a golem at some mountain top, so I say fuck it and beat the crap out of the golem, conveniently there's also a camp there, so I rest the night. When morning comes a fucking griffin just landed nonchalantly in front of me, again I say fuck it we fight, at first we barely made a scratch, then I climbed up the beast and started stabbing his eyes, to my surprise he flew away from the battle with me still hanging about, fast forward a few minutes he landed someplace called Forested Griffin's Nest, then my pawns just popped out of nowhere and we continue the fight, had to use 2 Wakestones but sadly the beast flew away in his last quarter bar of health, disappointed but at least got some free Portcrystals and gems.
I kid you not after a few hours of gameplay some random griffin just landed in front of my party near Vernworth and I suspect that's the bastard from before, he only had 1 bar of health, as now we're lv 23 - ish we (finally) beat the living crap out of him easy.
So, knowledge for those who may not know. When a griffin is injured enough it'll go to two places to my knowledge. That resting place atop the Misty Marshes and to go eat ox's infront of The capital of Vermund. (Main city) They will remain with the same HP you left them at.
@@PepTwo I've had a fight with a Golem near a river when mid fight a Chimera shows up and it's Golem vs Chimera vs me and my pawns, we kill the Golem and then soon after while dealing with the Chimera still a fucking Griffin jumps on us so its back to a mess of a brawl. Game rules for moments like that
I keep coming back to this. The high intensity part seriously needs an extended version. 5:00 to the end, it sounds outright apocalyptic and is just so. Damn. Good.
I feel so damn heroic listening to this track that I always put on the worst possible weapons and do low damage attacks to prolong the fight and go for cinematic moments
Every time i see the shadow. I look up and say "its you" ive never felt such generational hate to any enemy in any game. I know they are all different griffins but the anger thier long lost mother gave me will never subside 😂😂😂
My favorite part was when the griffin I was trying to aggro headbombed into the water and died before even engaging me while Medium Intensity was playing in the background xD Love this game
Me having a full charged Arc of Might waiting for it to land as its in the air, ready to smash it on its head only for the asshole to hightail it outta the area
Gotta say, my first time flying through the air hanging from the griffins paw with this playing, screaming for my life, that was freaking fun. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *splat*
@@meetomeeto8271 I've only ever found harpy nests. I'll keep an eye out but honestly I don't mind them. I kept getting jumped by the same griffin across most of Battahl. It was great finally bringing it down for good.
just in case you didnt know, if you knock griffin or drake on the groundquickly before its set to take off it will stick around for the whole fight, happy hunting Arisen
Me fighting an oger and a golem at once. It's a tough battle but victory will be mine ! Music start and a grifin is here 😮 oh .... Two of my pawns die at same time 😢
Just flew off on the back of one while in a fight with 2 other griffins and a cyclops (new game plus encounters and difficulty mod) climbed to its head stood up legolas style and fire an explosive arrow into its skull plummeted from the clouds landing on its head then put it out of its misery with an arc of might using my greatsword....(true warfarer mod)
most of the time dd2 ost is a lot worse than dd1 but i think this one is equal to the first dd's griffin theme. it goes onto a different direction for sure, sounds more menacing than noble but it's still nice to hear, though in game with all the screeching and wing flaps you don't really notice it :/
This should’ve just been the default battle music and just raise the anti on the boss encounters. Leadt would of made fighting the hordes of goblin more suspenful. Like why is the rest of soundtrack forgettable and worse than the first game?
Actually the combat and danger versions of the normal battle theme are probably the best tracks in the game. It’s just sad we rarely hear it. But yeah, all in all DD2 has an incredibly bland and weak OST. Like, it serves its purpose - barely - but compares to DD1 it’s just pathetic.
I disagree. The griffin ost from the first game was probably the only song that got tiring for me after hearing it so much. In this game I hope to find a griffin every time I leave town so I could hear the song again.
to each their own. But this theme feels like a generic hollywood orchestra to me. It never makes me excited fighting it. Thankfully I can replace it with the original theme in game
Original can't be topped especially at the one minute mark where it has that courageous heroic melody of you and the Griffin ascending into the sky as you fight and the music getting tenser as it tries to throw you off. Much of the music in DD2's score is unmemorable. Can't say a single track stands out to me in comparison to DD1 or even DD Online. I think the only standouts in DD2 were Dullahan and maybe the Brine Dragons. Key point in why it's so unmemorable is it's a different composer. Dragon's Dogma Composer was probably composing for Monster Hunter.
