Even the fight with the new "dragon " doesn't compare. Grigori destroying everything in his path making you earn that challenge vs getting a back ride and a uninspired conversation.
The Dragon steals every scene he's in and his dialogue elevates this story to a height I did not expect when I was escorting a hydra's head through a canyon of goblins.
@adilmerzouk2563 remember, death isnt *actual* death, otherwise we wouldnt be able to kill it. iirc its an arisen who went mad on bitterblack spending his days doing nothing but killing and was turned into what we see by the island's corruption
@@Lancia444 masterworks all you can't go wrong... but seriously that explains everything, they even misunderstood the themes of the game, its the opposite that happened with castlevania... i watched just because im starved for content from DD:DA but they even changed his apereance a little giving him a crown of 7 horns and dropping all those 7 sins stuff... it was more similar to berserk than to DD:DA
Ahhh, so this is what happened to Kenpachi, he went from being one of the strongest strikers/physical attackers in the Gotei 13 to being turned into an almost immortal badass talking dragon.
The cultists said "Merciful winged death" And literally a second later said "All powerful and merciless Grigori" Well, hi wasn't wrong with the last one
*Grigori is best boi.* Just wants to see u achieve your highest potential. Tho, you could have done it with a lil bit less casualties and property damage, jeez ._.
Every once of praise people lavish on David Lodge is well deserved, but let's not just brush off the guy doing the Elysion, that man brought 110% to his role, short as it was. I enjoyed him too. Also YT deada$$ thinks this video is about Dark Souls 💀
Despite having a similar VA, they still managed to make this Dragon way worse by "thouifying" his speech. Also, i think they should've found someone with a deeper voice, Grahame Fox just doesn't have the gravitas required for this role imo
Netflix had virtually no input from Capcom - from what is being reported, Capcom paid them to bring "Dragon's Dogma" to light prior to release of Dragon's Dogma 2. Netflix just butchered it because they're trying to be HBO and probably no one in that production team played and finished DD:DA...otherwise there would have been plenty of Easter Eggs e.g. "Master, wolves hunt in packs" "they're masterworks all" etc.....
@@NC055 yeah, the producers etc saw clips and a few guys here and there may have played it but the guys pulling the strings (direction, screenplay, script, etc) definitely did not.
@@Lancia444 I was disappointed with the series. The series could have been great, but sadly like Dragon Age Dawn of the Seeker it was only mediocre. Everyone there should have knew more about Dragon's Dogma or should have played the game.
SOME SPOILERS FOR DD2 . . . I ADORE DD2. 152h for my first playthrough. However, DD2's dragon holds no candle over Grigori in mystique, stature and poetic speech. The writing for his dialogues in DD1 is flawless. I think it's fine for them to be different since it's not the same dragon, but still in terms of presentation and dialogue, they could have done better.
@@miguelcondadoolivar5149 ...and yet, if the glow just beneath the scales can attest, it may just be that dragon's flesh IS fire, so provided one could breach the skin and peel away the grand illusion, one would no doubt find the answer goes far beyond the question.
Is his VA the same one as English kenpachi from Bleach? Because sounds very similar and awesome hearing it come from a dragon and actually sophisticated lol
Honestly, I was super disappointed with how they portrayed Grigori (or the Dragon) in the sequel. My guy had barely any screen time and was less of a menace. Also a shame that it wasn't the same VA.
