The classic game Dragon's Lair in its original form - as a Laserdisc game. The Amiga 500 sends the commands given with the Joystick by a cable to the remote input of the Laserdisc player.
I would have loved this for the Amiga back in the day. It's a great showcase, because I didn't even know this was a thing for the Amiga. However, the Daphne emulator is a much better solution today. You can rip the content off the Laserdisc and preserve your original. In any case, this was neat to see.
Thanks to Info Magazine from back in the day, I knew about this setup for the Amiga and wanted it BADLY. I believe the company behind this Dragon’s Lair/Space Ace laserdisc combo was Micron(?) or MicronTech(?) from Germany? If this kit had sold here in the US, I would have flipped out as a kid.
@clamshell6863 , close, but not really. They way to go is using the Daphne emulator. There are many rom sets, and it will run it EXACTLY how it was in the arcade based on the rom set. It even as an enhanced set that will incorporate the missing scenes as well as one that includes the experimental scenes.
@@IntyMichael What model Pioneer Laserdisc player do you have? This would help to narrow down the search for the right unit. I plan to satisfy my childhood dream!
@@worldofretrogameplay6963 It’s a Pioneer CLD-1500. The instructions recommended this and the 1600 and 2600 models. Be aware, it's a PAL Laserdisc and will probably not work on US Laserdisc players (there were PAL/NTSC players in Europe but not in the USA). I don't think that this kit was sold in the US. Maybe another company made something similar for it.
Da muss man sich wirklich durchsterben. Hatte den Aufbau mal auf einer Classic Computing dabei und einen Tag geübt. Ich glaube ich habe es ca. 3/4 durchgespielt.
You need a Pioneer Laserdisc player with remote input jack, the serial to remote input adapter and the control software (which came out for different systems). I think you get the software and a plan for the adapter on the internet. Or take a look on Ebay for an original set.
