I love the concept that Kiryu and the boyz just get so into the battle that they start moving like their old selves again and the party is just awestruck at the sheer speed and ferocity on display they can't hope to compete with.
Incorrect, Kiryu also suffers from serious gamer disease. Remember how serious he took things like Pocket Circuit Fighter, Mr Libido imagination tricks, revelations and phone dating. Ichiban's schizophrenia is another art acquired by the dragon of dojima.
@@hetoverseo3887 The only difference between Kiryu's Schizophrenia and Ichiban's is an apostrophe and an 'S'. Ichiban: Dragon Quest Kiryu: Dragon's Quest
kiryu is basically like a low tier god in the yakuza games, but everyone else is human, in the yakuza kiwami you basically open your way to the main building by almost killing every gang/yakuza that is put in front of him, meanwhile he protects haruka, in kiwami 2 he is known as a legend, (i still have not finished the other yakuza's games).
I still stand by my headcanon that Dragon's Resurgence is just how people see Extreme Heat mode. Like of course they can't do anything, would you get in the way of a rampaging dragon??? 😭😭
The moment I saw this happen, it was the coolest thing ever. Hearing "For Faith" while fighting Daigo and seeing all the background elements was absolutely amazing. Then it happened with Majima and Saejima and I was purposely not fighting just to feel the background.
My favorite is that Majima's face during their first meeting in Yakuza 0's ending. That's the first yakuza game i played and the first time Kiryu and him ever met in person. Reminds me how long of a journey i have been through in this franchise
it was nice moment to feel that Kiryu is Kiryu at least little bit after RGG literally nerved him with cancer because otherwise he would be too OP for turned based gameplay ...
i really like yakuza kiwami and kiwami 2, but to think that in a point it is going to be a turn-based system it make me sad, it is like when in doa6 they censored almost everything, when the fanbase really get the game to see boobs-engine work while you break the fk out of your enemy.
He's still rather OP even in turn based Gameplay, Dragon of Dojima is broken as hell, and with the skill inheritance system, he's down right unstoppable.
Daigo was a punk, so Kiryu beats him up to be the 6th chairman, despite him showing no interest in it. Majima loves being hit by Kiryu, so there's that. Meanwhile, Saejima probably still remembers how he fought Kiryu in his prime while in bandages, bleeding with no Staminan or Toughness in sight.
I love the little detail of everyone being on the same level, but there's always that one party member who's one level behind. It truly do be like that.
I like to think that the other party members are fending off whoever isn’t 1v1ing Kiryu, then were exhausted af on the last person. The way I beat them was Daigo, then Majima, then Saejima. Majima and Saejima are enough to give the Yakuza 7 cast a run for their money, then Saejima himself managing to hold his own against the four. It would be the only way Kiryu could beat Saejima in canon, because of how equal Kiryu and Saejima - Tigers and Dragons - are, as evidenced in Yakuza 4. Saejima’s just tired af and holds a last stand against Kiryu who also holds his last stand.
IMO saejima and Majima are equal. Majima is always playing arnd. But in yakuza 5 while majima was already beaten and tired he was equal to saejima who was fresh. Saejima isnt even anywhere near as good of a fighter as the other 2 but his brute strength and durability easily bridges that gap.
@@kneesurgeryenthusiast6915 I'm pretty sure they both were going all out. Even tho they weren't trying to kill eachother they both agreed to fight eachother at their fullest. Majima in Yakuza 1 was strong enough to punch a whole in the ground and go through the floor with kiryu. He is def equal to Saejima but he doesn't take shit serious.
@@kneesurgeryenthusiast6915 That is true but they still fought their hardest simply to test each others mettle. I haven't seen it in a while but I remember Saejima even complimenting Majima on his strength
yeah same here. I was really hoping the grand finale would have one final Dragon's Resurgence sequence (I ended up doing it myself - just dropped him to low enough HP and went ham with Dragon's Resurgence to finish him off) but it works so much better with this trio anyway, makes this amazing combat sequence stand out even more
they're just jealous they can't understand the raw manly essence of 1 buff old man fighting 3 other buff old men in 1 on 1 brawls pushing each other to their limits
The jumpcut from the beginning of the majima fight to mid fight with receive you and bite you banging was so damn satisfying . So sad rgg didnt just played the song from the drop and gave us little time to hear the song during the fight
It’s kinda funny to point out that Ichiban’s crew is an anomaly. They’re incredibly weak when you compare them to the other characters. Not even Kiryu. Shinada was able to fight entire yakuza families. Yagami and Kaito are also even more powerful. It took like 7 of them to jump Tendo.
Yeah but you have to remember half of the squad is going 50+ compared to the other you exampled, and yes and know there's kiryu but you gotta remember it's kiryu😂
@@goastem2991 Kiryu is obviously an outlier. But even then. each member of Ichibros party is weaker than every previous protag (save haruka). It’s kinda shocking to remember that they effectively ganged up on Sawashiro.
the thing about Ichi's crew is that they are essentially civilians. In their world you cant be a big shot without also being super good at fighting. So all the guys you fight who are big shots are just also really good at fighting. Kiryu basically paired up with a buncha random npcs when he decided to join ichibans crew.
Now that I think about it, the one thing that'd make this better (arguably) would be the beaten Daigo and then Majima watching Kiryu take on the next one
