LeviLung i'm actually pretty fucking embarassed now for all the times i said this game was awesome. this game was fucking shit. but hey it says a lot about generations. nowadays kids will complain about graphics and gameplay. in our time anything that had more than 10 pixels would be the best thing in the world.

GT tried to bring back the comedy of the original Dragonball (they even wished Goku back to a kid -_-) And it was executed very poorly The characters are bland and boring The fights were mostly boring It just wasnt good

arf234 I count DBZ in it's entirety, from Dragon Ball to GT. Plus, GT doesn't get to deserve it's own section in Dragon Ball History. Plus, a majority of characters in Final Bout are straight from Z, with only Pan, Trunks, Goku, and SSJ4 Goku being playable. Hell, this game only goes up to the Baby Saga. [Also, it was for the joke as well]

ShadowzVoid GT tried to bring back the comedy adventure feel of the original Dragon Ball, which is commendable. It just failed at it in pretty much every way.

No, the game is crap because it is not intuitive, the sounds are snes quality, the graphics are worse than the nintendo counterpart, the controls are annoying, and it's a total waste of space.

controls aint that bad its just a matter of LEARNING i do see ur other points tho graphics wernt the best for its time and apart from build up mode the game does lack some serous fun gameplay for casual gamers

Sorry to double post, but the music was definitely the one solid factor of this game. I think that's actually what kept me playing it.

... i feel like we shared some DBZ confusion/experience due to this game and others...I remember playing some of the Japanese PlayStation releases. I had no idea what the hell was going because everything in the games was SO far ahead of the american series...

I also played that game back in the day. A friend had a modded psx and he got his hands on the japanese version of this game. We played in black and white and nobody we knew had a pc or internet, so we had to figure out everything on our own. I had no idea what was going on, who a lot of the characters were (I thought Gohan was Yamcha and Kid Goku was Goten, whom I'd read about in a magazine) and figuring out how the commands and countering etc goes was a pain, but I did find out all the moves, the counters and how to meteor break and reverse it. Back then I didn't know much about fighting fighting games so the inputs were very confusing and yeah... this game is broken. If you get hit once, you're most likely done for, but it was fun. I actually enjoyed it, especially that leveling mode, where the attacks you use the most get leveled up and you get more health etc. I liked this game a lot more than DBZ Ultimate Battle 22, but DBZ Legends left the best impression on me of all the psx DB games.

Yup, same for me, word for word. I even thought goku and super goku were 2 different ppl…..yea, I was that stupid as a kid. I liked doing this thing as Pan where if you do a crouching punch, a little blast comes out. If you did one of her punching combos quick enough the blast would stay there and enemies would go down quickly lol. Chaining everyones combo moves was kind of fun actually. Thats how you managed to do quick movements.

MrScreamingSilence Actually you can break out of combos if you press x twice (block button). Hold it the second down you press it of course.

In Japan it was. This came out in America before GT was a thing here.

InfiniteFire1988 This was released around the 97 98 time in the US in English. There are 3 DBZ games on the PSone, I have all 3 in Japanese, but to get your hands on an English GT game, is extremely rare. Back in 99, the game was worth nearly $100 already for being rare. The one in my blockbuster was stolen for that reason. Not sure how much it is worth today, but it is a collectors game for sure.

Stoke3847 There were actually two prints of this game (in America) The original in America. Which came out in 1997. That's the rare version. And then a 2004 reprint after GT got a little more exposure. And also kept the original intro from the Japanese version. Which isn't exactly rare. It'll run you 20 bucks at the most for a complete set. Luckily it's impossible to get faked by the reprint and the rare copy, considering the original had different case, manual and disc artwork.

They make it look worse than it is. It's a game that's hard to master but when you learn how to play it it's really fun. Ultimate Battle 22 is not fun even if you master it XD

Um, no he's not. Sean Schemmel is Goku in all the Funimation dubs, and the Harmony Gold dub didn't use Blum, either. Plus, there are no entries in Blum's filmography for Goku in any DB-related media.

Well, that's simply a matter of taste, you're probably someone who likes stuff in your language. In my case my mother language is Spanish and it made me check stuff in other languages, and i got a taste for stuff in their original language, no matter what. Although the biggest dreamer in latino is awesome XD

It was super groundbreaking for me and friends because of that...as corny as that sounds today. I remember when this game came out, Toonami was barely on the Freiza saga ( maybe earlier?), and even the International Channel only played Japanese versions of the cell saga.

Heck, I think this game came out before DBZ was even dubbed in the US, and the VA's for this game only did one take for their lines. Interestingly enough, Steve Blum voiced Goku in this game. The voice director rushed him so fast to record his lines and leave that he barely even remembers doing it!

Partyprice Again, I have to disagree. Sure it wasn't as action packed, but it was an homage that harkened back to the simpler adventure days of Kid Goku in the original DragonBall. I enjoyed the Black Star Saga for its quicky sense of adventure, and I enjoyed the rest of the series for its action. To me, GT is the best of both worlds, but with the 10 episodes used on charging a Kameha from Z.
