If the other Z-Fighters were to intervene in that situation. Don’t you think the other party (Saibaman/Vegeta, Nappa) would’ve intervened as well? That move would’ve been too risky and there was no way they could’ve stopped that explosion. Not only would Yamcha have died, but the rest of the Z-Fighters as well.
Vegeta sama The saiyan prince not really because by the time the saibamen caught grip of him it was already to late and plus they didnt know he was going to explode until the last second which is why they didnt try to help sooner
Yes, the Saibaman knew he could not win, and Vegeta would most likely send him to the next dimension anyway for failing, so he decided to go on his own accord.
@Maruto Sythdren The problem isn't with him when he's not on the battle field. It's when he is! He's a nice person who labels himself as a fighter. But when he's in a battle he acts like he's hot shit, where everyone else isn't. Vegeta is the only one who does that, but he backs it up. That's why Yamcha is a meme. "I'll take on the rest of the Saibamen!!!", "That was easy!!". *Dies moments later*
Same. I don't know how it was in the States, but we actually got to watch the original Dragon Ball in my country, and I grew to like the characters. As a result, the first few sagas were pretty shocking, the saiyan one in particular. I remember being shocked at Goku just biting the dust so early in the series... and Yamcha's death, of course, was so sudden and out of nowhere. As a kid, it really did make me fear for some of these characters' lives.
To be fair, at this time Piccolo was like a few years removd from trying to kill Goku. He's barely a good guy yet. He ain't give a crap about none of these dudes except Gohan
No it's because DBZ fighters instantly get paralyzation when something bad is happening and it is easily preventable(Freiza/Cell transforming, 18 not running away from Cell while Tien was holding Cell down)
What really sucks here is Yamcha went into this deliberately protecting Krillin: he knew if anything happened to him, he wouldn’t be brought back to life a second time. And given that the Saibamen had to resort to a sneak attack, it definitely would’ve pulled the same stunt on Krillin. Guy went down a hero and all the fans give him shit for it.
Krillin wouldn't be as cocky as Yamcha here. Yamcha is like that guy who celebrates before crossing the finish line only to be beaten by the person behind him.
@@obscurelad9847even if he's not cocky, no one saw it coming. Krillin can be shown to be VERY cocky too. He was against Goku, and kind of against piccolo. He literally walks over towards raditz like he's some visitor, despite him being like 20x his feet
Funny thing is, is that Krillin still made the similar mistake years later in the Tournament of Power, and he's the first to get knocked out of the ring. You'd think that he wouldn't taunt in the middle of tournament with fighters all around. Yamcha's mistake that ultimately got him killed trying to protect Krillin back then. The man should have kept that in mind, but when you got Vegeta, Goku, and the Dragonballs he got so complacent over the years.
Yamcha was the designated “cool badass dude who gets his ass kicked to hype up the weekly heel” in early DB. But he had a lot of genuinely badass moments. He technically beat Goku, came up with some cunning plans, held down Oozaru Goku (in the manga), fought and defeated an invisible man, and gave a hell of a fight to Tenshinhan. There’s other moments, but those were pretty cool. Part of the meme is that the other humans had sparse moments (Yajirobe taking Vegeta’s tail, Tien holding down Cell, etc.) Yamcha got scrubbed hard by a mook. And then never recovered.
Noot Noot wouldn’t it make the chance of copyright bigger? Since it kind of insists that he “owns” it,especially since he has animation and his watermark on it
That saddest part about this scene is yamcha became meme in all sides of the fandom. I mean from East to West this dude ain't respected. You deserve better than this yamcha at least you deserve a girl more than Tien
@@CoolOkay_ That 30 year old virgin bred his girl and had a child that could beat the fuck out of Yamcha LMFAO. there is literally no way to make yamcha seem like the winner here
@@bigburhhh A child that got the "legendary" Super Saiyan transformation at 8. Not only is it shitty writing but also the fact he basically stole that, I'd rather have Yamcha have kids with Bulma than Vegeta of all people, no hate on the guy but out of all people Bulma could have married... Although Future Trunks (Fighting Teen) is rad so I guess it's alright? Still hate Kid Trunks though, fuck him.
yamaha must have the worst luck in the series, first vegeta's henchman blows him to pieces and then once he is eventually wished back vegeta shags his bird
@Theusernameless likely not considering the saiyans even thought it was dead, they're the ones to use these creatures in the first place. This death kind of means nothing, considering chiaotzu's death he won nothing and beat no one.
@@ImJustJonnY. Well Goku had Raditz In a Full Nelson While Piccolo was getting ready to use the Special Beam Cannon. Raditz barely took any hits and Was still WAYY Stronger than Goku and Piccolo Combined and Raditz had way more time to get out the full Nelson than Yamaha had before the Saibamen Blew him up. People Shits on the Saibamen but they about as strong as Raditz who decimated Goku and Piccolo who are Definitely Moon Busters at that point
fabiola blanc Fam, if the shit that could happen in DragonBall could happen in real life, there would be a fuck ton of people that would do significantly better than Yamcha.
Yamcha the most cause Vegeta who's indirectly responsible for his death stole his girl. At least Tien was able to redeem himself by holding off cell long enough to prevent cell from absorbing 18 a lot earlier.
Memes aside yamcha is a real one. He chose to die himself rather than letting one of his comrades die. You can call yamcha many things but he isnt a coward!
@@theinherit116 true but then again, yamcha is the same dude who didn't even have the courage to talk to girls before he met Bulma, so the odds are of him cheating on her are pretty slim
Does anyone find it funny that alot of Vegeta fans meme Yamcha getting caught off guard by a Saibaman that he beat but when SSB Vegeta also gets caught off guard and killed by Golden Frieza the same Vegeta fans start to complain that he was shafted? I smell Hypocrisy
@@Seedonator Ya? Then Goku and Piccolo as well had the worst power lvl during that tym as per Ur theory? As Yamcha man handled a Saibaman whose power lvl equals Raditz. And ya they live in the world of Ki. But every1 dnt knws abt this spiritual power specially the earthlings or human race of that universe that's y there r selected earthling warriors so no Yamcha is not the weakest infact during that tym he was even stronger then the others Z fyters.
@@thelonekookie8466 stop using the letter y instead of i. And second yes goku and piccolo were weak as hell back then because power scaling in dragon ball is screwed.
@@Seedonator Y means Why. Not I. And ya evn if the power scaling was screwed that tym then Y each and every people still loves DBZ and its moments and consider that as the only original and forever being canon DB story unlyk the stupid Super that completely destroyed a franchise's backbone?
This is where it started. This is where Yamcha's character progression went into the dumpster. Like damn, at least make him die fighting Nappa or something.
@@yamcha8309 Piccolo was the only Z-Fighter there capable of withstanding the explosion, due to being over twice as strong as the Saibaman, the explosion would've barely affected him. Krillin, Tien, Gohan, Chiaotzu, they all ded.
Yamcha needs to be recognized like tien and krillin. I mean yamcha is not that weaker than them but they still seem to downplay him. Now in super people even think roshi is stronger than him even though he hasn't trained since og dragonball. If dbs was serious in making humans stronger they could've trained in the Hyperbolic time chamber or maybe they can make a way for humans to train with gods if they can handle it. It's not fair that the original z fighters don't get to display their strength anymore.
@@gameking8809 super doesn't make sense at all. Not just roshi but everyone else as well specially android 17. How can a17 be as strong as ssb goku when a17 was just staying in that island? And even worse how can kefla defeat goku ssb so easily? Author could have just made the relevant characters be trained by whis in time slowing place and made them have less significance in tog. Also even the ending of normal ssj goku and frieza defeating jiren was stupid even if he was exhausted.
@@gameking8809 and that's dumb as fuck. Tien, Yamcha, and he'll even KRILLEN passes Roshi at the end if OG dragon ball. Roshi had a max powe level of 180
Jose Uzamaki he wasn't even a good villain back when he was chasing Goku. Don't get me wrong Yamchas a good friend but no quite the badass like the rest
If Yamcha was real in our World or ever does come which could happen he most definitely would start kicking ppls asses & kill humans if Yamcha even heard anyone talking shit about him Yamcha’s Haters may regret one day & wouldn’t even disrespect him if I were them
He could take on most people in the Marvel and DC universe. It's pretty ridiculous if you really think about it that a guy who moves faster than normal eyes can see (At the start of this fight, he moved too fast for Gohan to see) can blow up planets and survive nukes, is considered weak.
If you're off your defense as he was here you're as good as done for in the DB universe. He's not the only one, there's a lot of examples. Vegeta got blindsided by Yajirobe TWICE, he would have won if that didn't happen. Frieza almost finished by a spirit bomb the size of a second sun because he was oblivious to Goku charing energy right in front of him. An unsuspecting Trunks, (who can go SS at the time) getting killed and his time machine jacked by Cell in his first form. Perfect cell getting caught off guard by an aerial blast from SS Vegeta is what cost him his fight, SS Gohan got grabbed just like this and was defenseless against two human Majin goons. Goku getting knocked out cold by Vegeta from one punch when they decided to stop fighting and focus on Buu (at that point he could reach SS3). Gohan, Piccolo and SS3 Gotenks blindsided from Super Buu's absorption. Goku getting nearly killed by a laser ring from one of Frieza's henchmen (while able to reach SS blue). Probably alot more examples still. Yamcha maybe the weakest Z fighter but this battle doesnt mean much with an unexpected attack. A lot of Z fighters fall victim to ridiculous circumstances. If you want to count death toll he's behind many others, (even if he doesn't even fight at all) at least he smart enough to know he's out classed in most cases... Unlike Krillin, who even though was killed 5 times really never got the hint that hes just fodder in major battles. Screw those Yamcha memes.
Gohan was always stronger than cell. What the other Z fighters actually did was give Gohan time to go all out. Each one of the blasts bought time for Gohan to unleash everything. In the Buu arc, Gohan would have taken both of those guys out, but Shin decided to Paralyze him with magic so he couldn’t fight back. Your overall point is valid, but I feel like Gohan gets underrated a lot.
Krillin knows he’s fodder but he fights anyway because he wants to protect & do his part. Plus he knows Shenron or Porunga can revive him if he gets owned
The attack simply took him off guard. By the time he realized it, it was just too late. Everyone resents him for it, when he’s still fighting alongside Goku (or at least used to). Like the Wolf Fang Fist decided a fight in seconds. Yamcha’s terrifying; but everyone’s too focused on the first & last time he was caught off guard (Yamcha getting a hole in a chest by Dr. Gero doesn’t count; he saw it coming I believe).
That's what my point is infact Yamcha at that point was actually both stronger and had more technicality in battle then Goku and Piccolo as the Saibaman he was competing against had the same power lvl to Raditz.
@@abubakrakram6208 Its like a little later in this very saga, Krillin's kienzan would have killed straight up killed Nappa (a way stronger opponent) if Vegeta hadn't told him to dodge instead of tanking it. Yamcha wasn't weak, he was cocky and reckless.
I remember crying as a kid when this happened... I kind of looked to him in a way bc I grew up watching the original Dragonball then he became a meme 🙄
2:52 *Record Scratch, Freeze Frame* "Woah, woah. See that guy right there? Looks like he's hit rock bottom. Well that guy's actually me, believe it or not. Now, I bet you're wondering how I got in this wacky situation. It all started in the Summer of '86."
I don't care what anyone says the scene of Bulma just wailing and Roshi holding her while she cries spoke volumes about the beauty of this series and its acknowledgment of death. The fact that Roshi isn't even doing anything perverted to her in this scene just serves to heighten the sadness felt. I cried when all of the Z-fighters died. They knew they stood no chance and yet gave their all. Yamcha is just human and Bulma watched him die. Chaozu in particular was saddest because he didn't even destroy Nappa, his sacrifice was utterly tragic.
As much of a meme as this is I its important to point out how in the original dragon ball Yamcha was hardly weak so this moment was a huge "the bad guys here are not just all talk" moment lets be honest yamcha's death was pretty brutal
For a human he wasn't weak but compared to Goku he always was. If kid Goku was at full strength when he met Yamcha it would have went down very differently
+The Avocado Not to mention the heavy metal music with Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach clips was so damn cringe worthy I damn near wasn't able to make it through to the actual video. I just wanted to see Yamcha die, not be exposed to a metric shit ton of OP's teenage edginess.
What should've happened in the saiyan saga: The Z-Fighters defeat the saibamen. Z-fighters struggle against Nappa, Yamcha and Chiaotzu lose their lives Tien with one arm use all his strength(tri- beam" to take down Nappa but doesn't kill him, Tien dies. Nappa asks for help from Vegeta but Vegeta kills him. Vegeta man handles Krillin, Gohan, and piccolo Vegeta says Gohan is a disgrace to Saiyans and tries to kill him piccolo sacrifices himself and then that's where goku comes in
Agree with everything except I think Yamcha should've still died to saibamen but by taking on two of them; killing one while getting blowed up by the other one
Agree with everything except I think Yamcha should've still died to saibamen but by taking on two of them; killing one while getting blowed up by the other one
Yeah one of the big missteps of funis dub! Just give tons of unrelated characters the same voice actor! And then just have him use a surfer bro accent for yamcha poor guy!😢
My my, Yamcha shouldn't have let his guard down until he ensures the enemy is already dead. Now look what happened to him for his recklessness he got Yamcha-ed
I know everyone jokes about this particular scene, but the time when this happened in the manga and anime it was quite shocking and sad for long time Dragonball fans.
I know people meme on Yamcha’s death a lot and use it as an example to show how weak he is, but I personally always saw it as a way to show how despicable the villains were. Yamcha clearly wins the fight and doesn’t break a sweat, but ends up getting killed by a cheap tactic from the Saibaman who dies in the process. Piccolo’s reaction is even more telling of this as he looks disgusted and comments on how Yamcha had no way to defend against that. At this point in the story Yamcha certainly had flaws, but being a weak fighter was definitely not one of them, as he was a central fighter in the story. From his and the other protagonist’s reactions it’s clear that this moment was meant to be shocking, but unfortunately due to how the power scaling occurs later in the series, fans interpret Yamcha as some sort of joke fighter that was never good in the first place, and think this scene is funny, when in its original context it was actually quite serious
@Kid Synthesize I'm not saying he's weak. He is tough at the time, but dying to a Saibaman, which is probably the weakest form of villain, is the funny shxt ever
To everyone who is saying that Yamcha’s friends just stood by and watched him die, in a way, they had no choice. Because if they would have interfered not only would the other Saibamen interfered, but Nappa and probably Vegeta would’ve stepped in and they would’ve been slaughtered. In other words, they wanted to step in and help, but they knew it was suicide. That’s why they didn’t.
This is a great example of "win the fight, but lose in the cutscene.". That being said, Yamcha is actually ridiculously powerful. The problem is when you compare a strong human to Godzilla, that human is going to look tiny. Godzilla being the Saiyans
@ 1:45 Vegeta: Nappa relax, in a few years I will take his woman and get her pregnant with my child and then have her kick him out of their house and make him homeless. He will also be the weakest amongst his friends and everyone will think he is a joke. This will take away all of his confidence and he won’t want to fight ever again.
Wanna know something funny? Here, the Saibamen were at a power level of 1,400. Raditz had a power level of 1,500. Yamcha was mopping the floor with the Saibamen. Imagine Yamcha being almost more powerful than Raditz at one point lmao
