The reason he was crying when he died was because Freeza had shredded his pride and ego, and he deserved all of it considering the senseless slaughter he had done over the course of his life in pursuit of immortality and power. Hell, even on Namek he's killing innocent Namekians after they comply with his demands.

Vegeta at least had a goal to become a super saiyan and eventually kill Frieza. Frieza just wants to be feared by everyone and kills his own men on a whim to remind them of their place or just because. Vegeta is pretty damn evil but mellow over time, Frieza is pure evil and remains so after several hundred episodes.

Frieza is more Evil than Vegeta but it should be said that: 1. The anime added filler scenes of Frieza killing his soldiers on a whim. 2. Frieza's men are consistenty loyal to him. Even to the point of wishing him back after he died just to lead them again.

We never knew what really happened to characters like Dodoria, Zarbon or the Ginyus. They were Frieza's henchmen yes, but Vegeta was not different. We don't really know their backstories. Zarbon could've easily being redeemed, same with Jeice, Burter, Recoome or Gurdo. The only one truly loyal to Frieza was Ginyu. The rest of his henchmen were manipulated with fear, specially Zarbon and Dodoria. Vegeta was the same or even worse than some of these minor villains, Dodoria was way too savage, but the rest of them could've been redeemed in my opinion.

@@mavadofgc2840 I never really thought of Zarbon Dodoria and the rest too much. Because they were not involved a lot in Vegeta's life too much other than being a headache for Vegeta. I just felt bad for Nappa mainly because in some way he saw Vegeta like a son and he was a father. Because Vegeta is the son of King Vegeta and since If I'm not mistaken Nappa said he was a military commander and chief of the saiyan army so I guess he must have had some affilliation with King Vegeta so when he saw Vegeta and was with him he was probably happy to work alongside with the King's son. Nappa thought Vegeta cared about him, but Vegeta only cared about him because he was useful once he was useless he was done for. So that made me tear up a bit because Nappa in some way saw Vegeta like a son to him and never expected Vegeta to kill him. I keep thinking of a father and son relationship between Nappa and Vegeta because Nappa is like in his 50s and Vegeta I believe is somewhere around 27-28 in the Saiyan saga. I can understand your point though, but I think all of frieza's henchmen were loyal to frieza and were proud to do their job. Like Recoome was toying with Gohan and eventually broke his neck and didn't care at all even though Frieza's orders were just to kill gohan and krillin, and bring Vegeta alive thats it but Recoome wanted to have fun and torture Gohan I feel like this in a way he is proud to do his job. I do feel like Jeice somehow could be a redeemable guy because people portray him as a nice guy and the nicest out of all the ginyu force. Zarbon also seems like a nice guy because one being from this movie Bardock the Father of Goku in japanese sub when Frieza orders Zarbon to get his vehicle ready so that he can confront Bardock and destroy him. Zarbon expressed in a concerned manner that Frieza's men ( low level class soldiers ) were still out there, and frieza just stood quiet in an implicit way to remind Zarbon that if he disobeys Frieza's orders something terrible will happen to him. So yea I guess some henchmen of Frieza seem like nice people. Edit: I realised a few weeks ago that Nappa was never a military commander neither was he a chief of the entire saiyan army, it was a dub error. He never says this in the manga and so the japanese and the dbz kai version does not have him say this line.
