My old Art teacher used to call this type of sketching "Lost & Found". I've always remembered him, great teacher. Love mixing greens with Ultramarine Blue which granulates, I like that look. Great subject, love Dragonflies. Thank you.
Stunning, absolutely love dragon flies, you have captured this one beautifully, just starting to dabble in water colour and having fun with it, love the video and your explanations with what and how you create, tks
I've tried this as an absolute beginner who never held a brush before. My painting turns out really amazing (not as good as yours but obviously hahah). Thank you for the tutorial. Definitely subscribed to this channel!
I really enjoyed this video as I love dragonflies! Sometimes I can get them to land on my hand and once I rescued one that was caught in a spiders web. As to the video....I love everything you paint. You are a wonderful teacher! You've taught me not to be so critical of myself and to just have fun watching the watercolor do it's thing. I enjoy all the doodling too. Thank you so much Shana!
I missed you. Love dragonflies and I love the way you teach.🙂 This is not art related but your hair is beautiful. Now I need to tackle the dragonfly.💕🖌x
Hey I saw lots of artists use hairdryer to dry their paint. As a person who never used one (even for hair!) 😂 I'd like to ask something. Is there a significant difference between letting the paint dry by itself and by using a dryer?
It depends on how wet the paper is when you use it. Most of the time it doesn’t matter and really doesn’t make a difference. However, If you are using a wet-on-wet technique, you will want to let the water and paint do it’s thing before you use a dryer. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes so it is damp but no longer wet, and then you can use the dryer to finish the drying process. I hope that makes sense.
