I work on helicopters, and its fascinating the similarities we use for flight compared with the dragonfly. I wonder how much of what helped humans evolve aircraft and air flight is based on something as small as a dragonfly. Incredible things do come in all shapes and sizes.

AMAZING!!! the rear pair of wings flaps in sync with the front pair forming a pressure wave (they surf) so by controlling the phase shift between the 2 sets they control flight speed, Locking the wings allows gliding.

I was led to this video by one professing that there is a sonic element to dragonflies lift, citing the new developments in SAZER (sound lazar-like) technology. It's a kind of a new age and groovy kind of site, but I wonder... They claim the structural part of the wing are hollow (non liquid) pressurized tubes that collect the resonant a vibration of the wings beating, and have small cone-like structures spaced along them that direct the sazer energy as an anti-gravity and directional force. Nature does utilize amazing technology-The Wright brothers studied the wings of birds... I wonder if humming birds do more than just push puffs of air around, too...

The gliding was really neat! And interesting because of its mostly stationary gliding, rather then forward or backward movement. Amazing how such fine tuned mechanisms develop in nature. And we've got Eagles and Bears that are painted and posted around town here - it's pretty cool.

I don't think they fly they look like they levitate similar to beetles. Measure the vibrational frequency of the dragonfly wings.
@TorukMakto369
@TorukMakto369 5 лет назад
Random Stuff They don’t glide they are levitating; their wings can zero gravity and be weightless by flapping its wings it pushes air through all the little “vein” like structures in the wing which are actually tiny tubes with a “cone” on the end and this is important because as air travels through the tubes it creates vibrations and this makes sound but with such narrow tubes the sound is magnified to a high frequency and the end of each tiny tube or “vein” their is a cone and when the sound reaches the cone it creates a SASER BEAM that basically matches earths electro magnetic field. This is why when they fly the appear to be floating , they are floating on gravity in a way. BEES 🐝 fly in a similar way.

Hey I don't want to force someone into believing in what I believe, it's all up to you, but for me believing in God is just boring. He is your answer to everything. Why are things in nature have such complex structures? Because God created them that way. Wow, such an enlightenment. And after saying "because God" to any question, some people even call us shallow minded for not believing it even though we are just being curious about things around us. Whats up with that? And I'm sorry if I offended any creationists here, I didn't mean to do that.
@fishjohn014
@fishjohn014 10 лет назад
Thats funny, I feel the same way about evolution. All people say is "it gave the animal an advantage so it did it"...which just brings up more questions for me. Why don't all monkeys have opposable thumbs? Why are some birds flightless? Why do a lot of tropical fish have bright attractive colors? Pretty sure any of these questions would be answered by a simple "because it helped the animal survive" which to me is a cheap answer. I am a creationist because my father raised me up as one, he is a creationist because of his years studying cells and chemical structures at the University of Minnesota which he cant help but admit to be proof of a higher being with a inconceivably brilliant "mind" for design. I hope I didn't offend any evolutionists here.
@MaxJNorman
@MaxJNorman 10 лет назад
John Fisher yes, but the interesting question is how each adaptation (i.e. bright colours, flightlessness in birds, large brains etc) help a creature survive and reproduce. That's where the interesting stuff is.

I'm still not sure why monkeys don't have opposable thumbs....I guess what i am getting at is that I believe and understand in natural selection, but I think it is responsible for creating animals. Also, as a Christian I believe that humans are not animals but were made in the image of God, meaning that we have a responsibility to only kill animals when necessary and to prevent them from being unnecessarily harmed. If evolution is somebody's thing good for them, but I think it is important to recognize the massive intelligence gap and to accept the responsibility that comes from it.

Nature's designs strengthen my faith in God. Some intense perfectly engineered aerodynamics there especially with that wing spot. NO reason that wing design should've endured without that perfectly placed wing spot with just the right amount of weight on all 4 wings and that perfect symmetry throughout the wing system. I already know people will tear up my comment for this and call me ignorant for me even mentioning anything regarding creationism but idc because I've likely thought and analyzed in more depth about creation and evolution philosophies than most of them.
@Masons4Liberty
@Masons4Liberty 9 лет назад
I sometimes think that... but then I think it's really not that amazing if you think about the billions and billions of species that didn't survive and became extinct. God has failed many many more times than he succeeded with the whole creation thing. Over a long long long time we've gone from simple amoebas to the complex multicellular organisms that we are today.

It is amazing that people actually think such a complex design in something as small as a dragon fly, evolved by chance. It is clearly an amazing creation by God!!!!

wish I had a comment filter that would block religious pollution. It's amazing that there are people out there that believe this universe was made just for us.

XxDrShikarixX Why do you think that there is no other planet on which people or animals could survive on? - When i look at a building,common sense says, there was a builder, The Earth and everthing in it is much more complex than a building.- Answer- Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth
@XxDrShikarixX
@XxDrShikarixX 10 лет назад
yeah because I'm going to have a conversation about common sense with someone who thinks all the worlds answers were scribbled in a book by middle eastern farmers 2000 years ago. And there are other planets on which life could be sustained. We've got so far to go before we start making assumption. At one point people knew the world was flat and orbited by the sun. right now people know the world was created by a religious power. I'm just blabbering now I don't really care enough to give this my full attention. People should believe what makes them happy I just get annoyed when people give all the credit to a super natural power. O and awesome user name I love those old lever guns. my grandpa has a 94a in 207 I think.

I have always admired dragonflies- I think they are beautiful, elegant creatures. As do you have all right in the world to reproach of evolution, but atleast get it straight- "filtered chance", over such time extremes that it grows hard on us to even conceive. Unless the universe interacts with some form of external radiation- it must be a static, finite compound which acts to advocate there is no greater 'chance'- the term merely depicts how one does behold things that you do not yet understand how to predict or even measure. I believe that if you could just savor the equation, you would know about life on Earth 14 billion years later. This compound's reach is -in relation to us- infinite (as we cannot yet exploit to travel faster than the pace at which our universe expands). In our solar system- 1/8 yields a 12.5% probability for life on a planet, and it could even be more: Yes, it is in fact very likely that life has appeared at more than one site in the world as we know it (moons are also viable options and, perhaps, comets) - based on current knowledge held, excluding prejudice on exoplanets that are not yet studied in detail. This perspective is sadly very distorted scientifically speaking and does not properly reflect anything except that there is life in omniverse (at the very least; us), but neither is there much more to give right now. Intelligent life can only (thus far) be traced through deviate patterns in different wavelengths- meaning echoes of its prevalence expand at the speed of light. For thirty years we have sought such encounters however had none- implying a ripple of thirty lightyears outward does not exhibit enough rays on our belief's appropriate frequencies.

Amen! :D its such a simple and obvious fact, yet so many choose to ignore it and say it is "illogical". The only illogical thing here is people believing this world has no beginning and no Beginner.

I really like how he has a scripture verse at the end of his videos. So many people think that science and religion are opposing forces but religion simply reaches where science cannot. I'm a Christian and I love science. Keep on rockin', Destin.

Can i thank God for this? Or do I risk being bombarded by atheists with hard-ons ready to try and disprove my personal beliefs? The same can be said for religious people. I know it's a rather void request, but, let's coincide in peace, please.

The Divine Rod You are talking about RU-vid comments here. Who knows what'll happen. The problem is that invoking God, for alot of people, implicates several other concepts, like creation which itself pulls up a host of other questions. I'm an atheist myselves but I most likely consider this beautiful for the same reasons you do.
@rexnor1785
@rexnor1785 9 лет назад
The Divine Rod Why bother saying anything? If you would like to start a debate (which is rather obvious) hit up reddit or some religious forum. You do not need my permission if you want to thank god, nor anybodies. Go hard
@rurutherussian
@rurutherussian 9 лет назад
Rexnor17 How am i looking for a debate? I was addressing comments i saw in the comment section at the time (3 months ago...). Not to mention my comment applies to both parties. What's the point in starting a debate that goes nowhere? If you don't know my intentions, don't go assuming them.
@rexnor1785
@rexnor1785 9 лет назад
Alas you are proving my point. Nothing your original comment had anything to do with you actually wanting to thank god. "I would like to thank god for this!" Perfect, that is a comment. Saying what you said is like a little kid fake crying for attention....... Damnit, I fell in to your trap! My only point in mentioning your comment was to say you do not need to ask permission to thank god, and pretending otherwise is a bit sad.
@rurutherussian
@rurutherussian 9 лет назад
Rexnor17? Yes, actually, it did. In no way have i proved your "point", as I wrote my original comment purely and sincerely. You are hellbent on proving me wrong though, and I can now see that clearly. Therefore I'll end by saying this- Believe what you want, I (and only I) know my true intentions for writing my original comment. However, _feel free_ to continue trying to read in between the invisible lines you have imagined on your own time. Ironically, you seem to be the one here that wants a debate.

ssersoz Once you have eliminated the impossible what ever you have left is the truth. Macro evolution is a pretty bizarre theory. So is the big bang. both don't make sense. however apparently they are the best theories to explain the in-explicable. (so say the best and brightest among us) so i have a few questions for you if you would be so kind as to answer. 1. what happens to dna outside of a cell. 2. what state is the universe in. 3. what happens when you leave ice on a counter. 4. how does dna work.
