@@DISnumbersubjectively yes. MS is super versatile. It has the best tanking ability in the game plus decent damage with a stun attack that can be charged while you're doing other actions. The play style MS will be enjoyable to those who are used to a lot of MMORPGs where you might have skill rotations. As far as DD vocations go it's a high floor and ceiling but really rewarding when you get the hang of it.
Your skills should be Martyr's Bolt, Ricochet Hunter, Candescent Orb and whatever you want to play with for a 4th, it might be best to keep Recovery Arrow slotted for healing and ranged reviving. Any of the ice based skills are useless if you use the best of the magick archer bows. While Grianmhar is technically the best magick archer bow in the game if we consider only damage, the true best magick bow is Siocadh for one simple reason, it deals passive ice damage. Your normal shots will be doing incredible ice damage and buildup, freezing any enemy quite quickly, much faster than any of the ice skills the class has. Also the augments he is using in the video are just bad, he is missing 3 very key crucial augments you get from other classes. First of all, you want to max out the sorcerer class, as there are two MUST HAVE augments for the magick archer there. Catalysis: increases the damage you do if you are using an element the enemy is weak to. Sagacity: Increases your magick stat, which is what magick archer's damage goes off of. The third critical skill that EVER PLAYER CHARACTER AND MAIN PAWN WHO IS NOT A TANK SHOULD HAVE comes from a rank 2 thief, Subtlety. This will decrease the likelihood of enemies targeting who ever has this augment. It is no exaggeration to say that any nontank player character or pawn who does not have this augment on is harming their party. With a tank having the augment that increases the likelihood of being targeted, and everyone else having subtlety on, things so go much better. As far as your party make up...every party should have a tank and a mage, period. The tank can be either warrior or fighter, just make sure they have the augment that increases the likelihood of enemies attacking them AS WELL AS one of the taunt weapon skills. As for a mage, I know he says as a magick archer you dont need a mage, this is false and will lead to you being killed, a lot. DO NOT GO WITH OUT A MAGE!! The mage is the ONLY vocation that can remove debuffs/debilitaing status effects from you. While the magick archer can do mild healing and reviving, only the mage can take things like poison off of you. Not only that, but mages get one of their healing as a core skill, it doesnt even take a weapon skill slot. Aside from that, they also get a weapon skill that will give healing over time. So now you have you as magick archer, a tank (fighter or warrior), and a mage. The 4th can be whatever you like, I personally would recommend a sorcerer, specifically one that knows one of the vocation's ultimate abilities: either malestrom or the meteor skill. Preferably find a sorcerer that has both.
@@djhanger3035 No, Grianmhar is the magick bow with the highest base damage in the game. Siocadh is better because of the ice passive, you freeze enemies very quickly with your normal attacks, which is much better than having extra damage, since the enemy being frozen makes them unable to hit you.
I'm not sure why, but it seems like mages, sorcerers, and magic archers seem to have a tougher time with golems. Their attacks seem to take forever to break a glowing core.
I just got it last night. I knew you could go early, but was holding off until my Arisen had an rp reason to go down there... Then i got the tree mission. I'm liking it, but i loved how the Archer plays more. I hate not being able to do a smooth slide under a boss then pop them from the other side, or if a mob runs up on me i either stomp them out or flip off them lol. Most likely gonna alternate between the two after I max it out
I don't know why the developers decided to give the player Marty's Bolt as soon as you unlock MA, it's totally overpowered. You can consume almost your entire health bar, make the shot, get killed, use a wakestone and then use almost your entire health bar again. No boss stands a chance against that strategy. Large portion of cheese :) I'm not complaining though, it's helped me progress without too much trouble . I can see why they placed the NPC/Quest so far from the start point too. I love the Ricochet hunter skill. Any cave/dungeon you're entering just fire this into it and it clears out loads of enemies lurking in the shadows.
Candescent Orb absolutely shuts down Harpies, they can't get close without it burning their winds and knocking them out of the sky. Drop one near your party and let them serve themselves up extra-crispy.
I don't know if it got buffed but Candescent Orb does work. It attaches to enemies and deals constant fire damage. I use apply damage that stacks with Rivet Shot and it literally melts bosses.
Magic Archer, I did NOT want to play. Tried many vocations, maxing them but then found that secret Petticoat armor and since it was Fighter/M.A. only, I decided to switch vocation out of boredom to MA. That created a monster because as soon as I got the hang of the movesets and settled into my own playstyle, I fell in love with it. I love the immortality of Mystic Spearhand, but M.A. just hits so different.
Ya, so after an hour and a half of die and repeat...I got down to the grotto cave at level 11 with about 1 cm of max health, all my pawns dies and I had my main pawn carrying my camp, so I can't use any camp fires, not sure how I am going to get back to the main story once I get the class (because of course I deposited my only ferrystone at an inn.) lol lessons have been learned. always carry your own camp and a ferrystone. got it!
With the augments magic Archer gets, the are more of a "Pawn Commander". Huge buffs and heals to pawns while you hang back and dps from range. Can even rez pawns from range... Get 3 dps pawns and steamroll content.
M.A is my absolute favorite. It is insanely powerful and even its defensive skills have offense reactions. I mainly use the bow with frosting effect as I feel it is a waste of skill slot to add it there. Have fun with it everyone 🙌🏼 💥
I guess I haven't had much luck with this vocation. It seems extremely underpowered compared to some of the others. I'm using the bow from volcanic camp. I have ricochet, sedative, martyr. It seems to do really well in tight spaces with ricochet but out in the open it seems really crappy. I just swapped from regular archer to magic archer and I really miss my explosive arrows.
The Rmagical circle doesnt appear for me and does not appear on enemies either I literally have to guess if im locked on or not MA is unplayable for me it literally hurts my soul to work with it
Careful where you use the minigun inside caves, I been using to fire ahead inside caves killing most everything unseen mobs. I had a quest for a rescue and escort out, so I kept firing ahead at every bend. When I got to the target he was like "yay I'm saved" then he started punching me so my pawns attacked him which then one of the NPCs following me attacked me too so they had to die. The bullet bounce hit him with friendly fire making him hostile, but didn't attack me until after the scripted interaction.
Am sooooooo soon as we got to the door of the before entering, My pawns killed the old man which was very strange, I think it was a glitch in the game, But I still carried him to the Hot springs but was not able to finish because he was dead so his wife never came
@@SM-McKraken Well once you get to the Unmoored world, She give you the Magic Archer skill but she don't give you the maister skill which is the best magic Archer skill in the game😫
you can get around by following the road by the basket thing, a pawn with the quest thing helps to navigate the backside of the camp with the enemies if u didn't wanna wait it out. I did it last nite.
theres a trail lower down leading to guerco cavern that goes right into bhattal main city, did that after seeing all bridges down. Just met dwarf with bad back and about to unlock MA when i get home tonight
quick look, not for me BUT how do you learn to aim if you have autotarget? stuck with this game? Personally I think this is great for disabled to play and may be tweaked for more to play... devs please think of the disabled and how you can help them, you already have the controller tech... twitch touch... i don't have any skills or gain; all you
Was a bit of a joke. As in it's easy to aim on mouse. However I am not sure what kind of disablity you have so it's hard to make recommendations. Using a controller for example works very well on PC. I use an xbox controller.
In Dark Arisen, I loved this class and trying to make my perfect Magik Archer I took this route for decent stats. Level 1-10: Fighter Level 11-37: Warrior Level 38-100: Ranger Level 101-176: Sorcerer Level 178-198: Ranger Level 199-200: Stridor Max Level: Magik Archer
@joshualawton57 yes no pawns, I'm at lvl56 and I been playing with no pawns since I started, but archer is good but it's bad vs mobs. I miss my ranger vocation, you could use bow and dual blades at the same time 😭
@@JuanSolis92 I mean warfarer would be best for solo right? Equip mage staff for buffing and healing and then user your one or two other weapons you enjoy.
He halfs his own pierceable DR, kinda like diamat, then his special ignores dr aslong as its 3 charge or more like b!robin, and his ikes DR is unpierceable since its in the special like armored bacon
I hate what they did to the class system. One of the best most unique mechanics in rpgs ruined. I used to be able to triple jump then land with a massive flame strike as a magick archer using daggers.. I used to be able to custom build my magick archer, level by level, so that it will have the most perfect stats possible. None of that is possible now and what did we get instead? better graphics. Poopish game.
The vocation that comes nearest to my Wandering Seer from Soul Calibur V since there's no magic orb option like a fortune 🔮 teller witch. This is close enough and it sounds like Magick Archer is more powerful than ever!
Recovery arrow is awesome but can be ditched with your healing mage having Palladium. The upgrade version casts the protection to nearby members so if you put two melee attackers they will likely get it on 1 cast, and that skill helps alot even against dragons
Pawns can have taunting. I have a fighter pawn I’ve had with me for a little while now and I’ve seen him use it multiple times if an enemy gets to far away or is pounding another pawn.
thanks, I just unlocked this last nite and using rivet shot feels like a wet noodle on goblins and birds. so im sure its user error. Im using militant dove bow from the elf people upgraded to +1 but I think ima go get the one from the town where u learn MA. just broke on gold atm after buying the bow and a shirt.
Do yourself a favor and get Siocadh from the elf people. It has the third highest damage for magick archer in the game, but has the added benefit of an ice passive. So all of your normal shots will do ice damage and a fast ice buildup to freeze enemies.
@@bradr2567the problem with the ice passive is that you cant make good use of the passive that gives you elemental effect after a skill use, Personally i say just pick up the dragons breath from the volcano camp, as its like 50 ft from where you unlock the vocation anyways, it has higher base damage, and can benefit from focusing on elemental weaknesses more effectively.
@@andybanan1992 Dude. You just use a frosthunter bolt skill and just rivet shot and permafreeze most things. Its insanely strong. Dragons breath doesnt even come close to the CC of this thing. In DD2 you can also only have 1 debilitation active iirc. So its pointless trying to get fire ice and lightning.
@@bradr2567 yeah I thought about that, I ended up getting the Dragon's Breath upgraded +1 cause I don't have mats for +2 but leveling up sorcerer next since I maxed out MA.
Good video but I wish you had a segment for "personal favorite" so we could just see what the best combos are right off the back as opposed to a giant general overview
I personally love Sedative Shot! Warfarers can one shot pretty much anything with Archer's weakspot damage multiplier augment and Gut n Run after they're put to sleep.
Man I used to love MA in the first game - but is it not boring as hell now with no movement abilities at all and only shooting the same locked on shots? The variation in gameplay is so boring now
I am sure magick archer has some nice damage, but Mystic Spearhand is just way too devil may cry edgy and does a ton of damage, and has a shield to buff people with at the use of only stamina with no cd? and still does insane damage i can't look back lol but i will still level this vocation up too!
Powerful vocation but boring as hell. They kinda ruined the archers in this game. Non athletic casual bot status. They def catered this game to a wider audience which is fine. Also does anybody think this this game is too easy as far as difficulty only time I have died is falling to my death lol.
Actually I don’t think they catered enough to a wider audience. Archers suck, and so do mages and sorcerers. I wish it was more like Elden ring where I can actually dodge. I just be standing there taking the hit as a sorcerer. I Love sorcerer class but seeing every class cling from larger enemies and do cool stuff while I gotta stay far and press a button is annoying.
@Rockyroad321 I actually don't like every class having the same dodge like in the Souls games. It feels generic. Capcom should have given mages and sorcs a teleport instead, but eh. Levitate saved me many times. It's all about positioning and running away for defense when playing as pure magic users in this game.
@@Rockyroad321 Archers and sorcs suck? Mate Sorcs are probably the vocation with the most powerful busted spells in the entire game. Have you seen the sorc ultimate spells?
@@stonaraptor8196 they suck in that they’re boring to play. I play sorcerer rn and as much as I Love magic builds in games, this one just doesn’t feel very engaging. Working my way to get wayfarer vocation cuz that’s magic and I get a bit more action. It’s also tuff to choose between spearhand vs sorcerer. Spear has cool magic abilities and has great mobility and melee. Sorcerer is just magic with a levitation spell which I don’t even really use much.
