It’s crazy to get our sequel chants answered. After playing for more than 200+ cycles combined in two different consoles playing for idk how long now im excited for this game.
You're not alone! The pawn chatter never got old for me, in fact my only complaint was pawns talked at you, but never really had a conversation or talked to each other, which seems to have been addressed for DD2 so I am very happy😃
@@SailorPupitar you could slightly adjust pawn chatter frequency with the knowledge chair in DD1DA if i remember correctly. (one of the questions was if they should talk more or less)
Dragons Dogma is a series that's perfect for co-op infact it's one game where story progression doesn't need to happen across worlds because the premise of the pawn learning things in the world of other arisens worlds, works out the same for the player as well you learn stuff from questing with someone else in their world then you can handle it in yours better or differently Plus joining with your main pawn with your friend and thier main pawn would be so sick
1:03 It's honestly more love than hate for me tbh. I love how the insanely talkative Pawns contrast your silent Arisen. I also think it helps the game feel less isolated than it would be if the Pawns didn't talk so much. I already play the Souls games if I want an isolated gaming experience. I play Dragon's Dogma to go on an adventure and fight monsters with my 3 chatty companions.
I honestly hope they bring in a good amount of the Dragon dogma Online classes later. They had some interesting ones that can be nice additions to this game.
you could already have elve looking charachters in the first game (there were 2 pointy ear options) but i never saw them aknowledged as a seperate race/species.
Bro the game looks amazing, gameplay is also amazing, graphics are amazing. BUT, and that's a biiiiig BUT.. The fact that there is no Multiplayer/CO-Op kills the game for me sadly..... If I can't play with friends then I won't be playing the game... Hopefully they bring at least Co-op
@spectralassassin6030 This is a good point. They do need to tweak the inclinations cz only abt 3-6 were good depending on their vocation and the rest were just annoying shit like looting in combat.
No coop no buy. Just beat lords of the fallen, remnant 2, wulong full coop. Playing game of the year balders gate 3 full coop. Up to 4 players. Elden ring had coop while for bosses it’s still there. DG2 uses pawn system what would hurt the game by letting me actually play with my character my pawn? Just dumb and lazy.
It's pretty depressing they couldn't include at least 2 player co-op. Will still be a great game, just could've been that much better. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that MH Wilds is co-op, as I'd presume it is...
I hope they keep the you can date literally anyone thing from the first game. It was fun getting tons of npcs likenees stat up and see who you're beloved was at the end.
No coop, no game for me. I can't understand it, 2023 and still all of this big Companies failing, we want an option for coop. The experience with a friend is the best you can get.
I hope they'll have good weather namely because In the old game night was when the undead roamed. Like man with the right rain it'd be cool to see a group of glowing eyes shambling through the dark
Facts. What is with people and needing online in every single fucking game? It's like these fools never grew up playing games pre online days or something. I'm glad Capcom are focusing their resources into making the Pawn system more fleshed out and not into designing a co-op that would cost more money and development time for them to create and maintain.
@R3TR0J4N I feel like if it where to have coop then the whole game would have to revolve around it being coop. The mechanics would have to support a coop game. And at that point why even call it dragons dogma. But I could be totally wrong about that.
I'm curious about the leveling system. I usually like to min max is it going to be like the first game, i.e., need to take this amount of levels in class a to be great in class d later on
It's still the same. Your allocated stats are distributed accordingly to your current vocation as you level up. Thresholds and distribution could be balanced wildly different this time around though. There is too little footage of people leveling up in the Demo footage but the system seems close to the original. Still, there is no saying if there is a re-spec feature.
I feel like a way multiplayer COULD work is that people could take their pawn online or have a pawn character they make specifically to play online. That way its not a second Arisin in the world but just "simply another pawn". Yes, that splits the character apart from their own play through and online play but that has its own merit of fun as you develop your online pawn character over time and get them gear that could possibly either be gifted to them by the host or points/gold rewarded or something while questing and then spent in some special pawn shop.
1)About weather conditions: There was rain footage from some playing at TGS against a minotaur, and there should be different conditions as beyond the rugged canyon region of Battahl there is a mountains range clearly covered in snow. 2) There are NPC characters in the game looking like Dwarven and Elf races in footage. There is even recorded footage of Gamescom Singapore demo (same as the TGS one) where the person playing got a quest from an Elf in the capital and you get a ring from it. In the ring description said it was rare for an Elf to be found outside of their capital in the forest to venture out in the human region. (will put the playlist with the footage down below) 3) There was never seen footage of the Warrior and Sorcerer vocations recorded in the Gamescom Singapore event because to unlock those you need to complete a quest where you need to retrieve the stolen greatsword and sorcerer from the Vocation Guild where it leads to a nearby cave full of bandits. Just after that you can change to the advanced vocations. 4) People got to explore the Rift while looking for pawns and you could go up to lvl 999 when searching for pawns but ypu couldn't summon them to the Rift because they changed the summon to only if you have enough Rift Crystals ,probably in a way to prevent players from looking into advanced skills from higher level pawns. 5) Now when hiring a pawn you can look through all their vocations proficiency level and respective unlocked skills and currently equipped skills. All the footage was gathered and provided by passionate members of the Dragon's Dogma discord/reddit/wiki community who are already compiling all the information for when the games launch. @@R3TR0J4N I'm not OP but for #4 max level in Dark Arisen was 200 (displayed as ♾️). As for #5 you totally could see vocation level and skills before hiring a pawn but you had to summon them to the rift first through the riftstone menu. Then, in the rift, you talked to them and they had the option to look at their stats where there were a few pages telling you their armour rating and damage, vocation level, skills etc. Maybe they mean that now you can see it before even summoning them to the rift. If so that's a massive time saver cz in the riftsrone menu you can only see skills and pawn level. Although you could approximate their vocation level based on those equipped skills of course. Hope that helps.
@@R3TR0J4N No worries miss! And yeah I can't wait either! One thing for sure is the new pause menu i saw in one of the gameplay trailers looked way better. The item page looked good too but the writing was all in Japanese so that's as much as I got really lol.
@@dyllwill No, what I mean is that can see all their vocations skills and their proficiency level like lvl 9 for Fighter, lvl 3 for Mage, lvl 2 for Warrior, and etc. Plus all the features from the previous game.
People often forget that online coop means getting rid of alot of unique combat mechanics as witnessed in DDO and introduces lag and other technical challenges. It's also not something you can just "slap on" later, it is a foundational change.
I’m really hoping Spearhand is the thief/mage vocation, and not the fighter/mage stated in the video. There’s no reason to have mystic archer return and screw over a big portion of the fan base who loved MK. Big shields and magic are my thing, and I may not even get the game if there’s no mystic knight.
@@lukepoplawski3230In the official Capcom site the Spearhand vocation icon is the Hybrid between Fighter and Sorcerer, replacing Mystic Knight. However, it should be noted that Capcom themselves dropped the term Hybrid in the sequel because they call it Advanced, even if you go back to their presentation video they were called Advanced Vocations. Magick Archer is called the same, so there is hope for more than one advanced vocation sharing the same Vocation Icons but being two different things altogether. The hope is there for Mystic Knight, albeit slim.
@@lukepoplawski3230Exactly, imagine not having the Great Cannon and Fulmination for Mystic Knight (to be replaced by a worthless “spear”, no less) and Sorcerer, because that combo was DEVASTATING! Imagine getting rid of a team combo like that!
Was really looking forward to this game but didn't buy because of the lack of coop play. Solo play is fine but not for that price tag. Huge opportunity missed. This could have been great to build and conquer with friends. Very sad
Anyone know if your starting class dictates your possible advanced class? For example, if I start as thief can I still become mystic spear hand later even though that one is mage/melee hybrid?
There’s a 2nd Dragons Dogma comin out?!!!!! What consoles is this gonna be on? I got the newer version for Xbox one & started replaying it right now..love this game!
Great video! I am curious, however, about the kind of missions we'll face tho. I know the game is combat-focused, but i'd like it to have some quests not involving the loop of "battle, get new item to battle, then battle again", some narrative questlines, investigations and such would be very much apreciated in the game as a form of relief between combats and bloodshed.
Man people will find something to complain about "hundreds of hours it will get repetitive " ok turn off voices if it bug you so much . Mods will fix this weird avoidance of co op in games
Yeah I was interested in it up until I heard there’s no co op. The cop out by saying that the game runs smother with out it. It’s just that a cop out. It’s 2024 you mean to tell me your engine can run a co op game? With out a shadow of doubt you can tell that this game is going to lunch with game breaking bugs for the first months
Coop needs to be a thing for this game. Me, my pawn and one of my friend and their pawn... 4 adventurers, doing quests, and exploring the open world. It's like no brainer to me.
Absolutely, that’s exactly the solution I offer, two Arisen players and two of their main pawns, simple. Keep the spirit of the Arisen and pawn but also add something new to the lore.
Really hope the storyline is way better in the sequel than the first game. After recently playing the game for the first time that "romantic" subplot was god awful and the main storyline seemed really simple for a japanese rpg.
I hope someone will make a multiplayer mod somehow. This sort game where can make diverse type builds and play and roleplay as your character with your friends is a missed opportunity in my eyes.
Honestly I like the first one but man I’m actually let down about it not being co op. Smh it would of made the game so much better if it was multiplayer. Dang
I will never understand why people want multiplayer in every damn game 🤣. We all need breaks from our friends every now and then. I used to play a lot of Dragon’s Dogma so I’m looking forward to playing DD2 when it comes out.
yes it's exhausting. everyone just wants every game to be multiplayer, and the worst, is that the people who want this, are the ones who just want to spend like 30-50 hours on the game and be done with it. they don't even care how a multiplayer function would compromise the game in a lot of aspects, but I guess they don't give a shit. they just want to have a few tens of hours of fun with their shallow friends and move on to the next one.
I don’t get why people are so against it. There’s plenty of games that make the base game more enjoyable with co op. It’s not even asking for a lot. DD is unique to itself and no other game plays like it. Co op wouldn’t hurt. I guarantee, I’d put more hours in DD if it had co op
@@mugenzero007agreed, it's a game that feels like it was made for co-op. It's your classic fantasy game with a party of adventurers. The devs keep hyping the pawns up, saying they're just as good as real players, which is great and all, but how bout letting us play with the genuine article? xD Making it co-op literally does nothing to ruin the experience for those who wanna play solo.
I mean then just play it solo, if coop was a thing and also had the pawn system then it would be the same. Would be cool to take over control of a pawn to help a friend or leave and let the pawn continue without doing it. Heck Elden ring can be played solo/coop/spirits, but for me its not a deal breaker for playing DD.
Looking at the Pawn commentary on the bottom of the screen at 7:45, it looks like they talk to each other about enemy strategies during a fight, and not just the player. Hopefully the different personality settings will become more meaningful: "Striking the head will prove most effective" "Tis a weakness shared by most." "Of course." I'd love to see them argue with each other.
I wanna Know the New pawn features LIke how it will learn this time around Vs how it was learning from the other would our previous playthrough Matter At all like how mass efftect Does it
I really hope the world in dragon dogma 2 is alive Capcom already creates a great wildlife ecosystem in the monster hunter world, they just need to do it again
I enjoyed the pawns experience with quests building up to give hints to new players and friends who are on the first playthrough they helped find things most would normally miss
I'm just glad each class gets a dodge mechanic. That's what truly set the classes apart and what put the strider class in it's tier...that and instant reset
Looks to me to be to much of a repeat of the 1st on skills and monsters and I have nno interest in it as I did not see enopgh new to warrent getting it.
As for Dragon's Dogma Online, The community is currently making an effort to revive it. If you have knowledge in let's say hex code or are just familiar with reverse engineering in general then please do get in touch. You can already play Dragon's Dogma Online Offline or with your friends on a self hosted server/public server. It is however all still very much work in progress.
I HOPE mystic spear hand isn’t the mage/fighter vocation, but the mage/THIEF vocation. I’ll be disappointed to the point that I may not purchase the game is mystic knight doesn’t return.
I understand why stat gains are the way Dark Arisen has them, but I really just want base stats tied to currently played class so we don't have to think about it. Pick up and go.
I really want to know if there are going to be time sensitive missions or missions that you can miss or fail depending how far you go into the main quest. I personally dont like that. It feels out of place to me to be assigned to save the world but if i want to experience every the game has to offer i have to stop saving the world to find this guy's missing chicken or something.
