Genji is actually part of the Overwatch team. Hanzo is a lone ranger, Hanzo is actually not part of Overwatch team at all. But Genji is trying to recruit Hanzo.
as someone who praticed archery I love the fact that the arrow was spinning and wasn't halfed in a straight line. It has a little spiral form. This level of detail is amazing.
Genji actually has the Green Dragon move in the game. Its his Ult, But it only shows the dragon being summoned for a short time. Doesnt show it shoot out.
you can deflect hanzo's dragon in game, you have to defect the arrow before it turn to dragon then the arrow turn around and become a dragon for your side.
yeah if you look at genji when he does his ult you can see the red dragon, and yeah if you use the deflect ability, you can deflect the arrow that hanzo shoots but you have to deflect it before it turns into dragons
I don't think you can take the game literally. Otherwise you'd have to explain how there can be a Tracer on both teams at the same time, or something. I dunno, multiverse something something. Who cares, kill stuff, have fun.
League of Legends apparantly has a story, same kinda deal. The game has nothing at all to do with the games story, which is certanly a...odd way to do things.
That's kind of my main gripe with this actually. If the story and the gameplay have almost nothing to do with each other, why bother putting them together in the first place? Wouldn't it have made more sense to separate the characters into different teams and have mission objectives that follow their goals?
Exactly. TF2 has different classes but on both sides theyre the same characters with different colors. Overwatch literaly has diferent people. Its called a game balance because if it was good against bad, bad would be in a disadvamtaged. Plus theres too many grey characters for it to be good vs evil. They also explained that they didnt want players to not be able to play on friends teams just because they prefered how an evil character played.
They even have a line, when 2 Tracers are on the same team, its like "Whoaaaa is that...me again ? And i Though my Chronothings is working alright" "Hey thats the same thing i was Thinking...spooky"
the reason hanzo didnt know that he was his brother was because his brother after he died got saved by mercy and winston and rebuilt as a cyborg with awsome abilities like a double jump and super reflexes.
To fair to Hanzo he "killed" genji an absolute minimum of 5 yrs ago. If someone disappears for 5 years after being mortally wounded it's a fair assumption
for all those who are new here this channel isn't a "reaction" channel they mostly live stream video games and post 1 segment of the live stream and have the rest of the stream in the playlist in the the description also every month or so they do a show and trailer where they live stream and "react" or mostly talk over movie and video game trailers that came out that month that they're fans submit and do the same process as they do for their video game live streams and they only do trailers for video games and movies and will rarely watch another youtubers video and when they do they will "react" to it by mostly talking over it or skimming through it fraser and the guys aren't those shitty reaction channels you see all over youtube they've been doing this kind of setup even before the fine bros just to let you guys know
"pro robot rights": The omni crisis explained by Winston is robots doing genocide to all humans. Decades ago Overwatch saved humanity from a brink of destruction. Then it was eventually illegal to perform Overwatch activities because of suspicion of corruption, lore makes it look like it was an inside job ruining Overwatches reputation. The story makes sense because Solider 76 was the Overwatch leader and him and Reaper did a super solider program. Reaper grew jealous of 76 and the bombing at Overwatch's HQ ruined 76's face and he felt guilty that Overwatch fell under his leadership. Widow Maker was captured and brainwashed into that twisted person. She was married to someone in Overwatch and most likely the same organization doing the current terrorist attacks also hired the mercenaries of Overwatch that hold low moral standards (i.e. Reaper) and brainwash others. Only question I want answered is the relationship between Mercy and Reaper. We know Mercy built Genji after he was nearly dead and we know she has the tech to bring back the dead if they died recently. However Reaper says some interesting things to her in game like: "Mercy: This is not what I intended for you, Reyes. Reaper: You knew exactly what you were doing."
I read somewhere after the explosion at overwatch HQ reaper as gravely injured and Mercy was the one who healed Reaper. However there was something wrong with reaper's body where it constantly degenerate but Mercy healing regenerate him keeping him in this kinda state between life and death forever.
Genji can reflect any thrown or shooting ultimate, like Mei's and Tracers little bombs but you gotta reflect it before it hits the ground, and yeah Genji can deflect Hanzos ulitimate but he can only defelct it when its still an arrow, not in dragon form, so get close to Hanzo and be ready, you can also deflect McCrees ulitimate but you have to wait for him to say 'its high noon' and wait for like a second, or else youll be to early
The game is because multiplayer really isn't a canon explanation of the story or it relates in any way. Otherwise why would there be two widowmakers or reinhardts, or why would tracer fight winston, or why would soldier 76 team up with reaper? It just happens for the sake of the game but the multiplayer isn't really canon
Hanzo was more disgusted with the fact that he killed his brother and the order was given to him by Overwatch's version of the Yakuza. So he became a free agent - which is why every year he comes back to the place he killed Genji to pay his respects; in thinking Genji was dead. Hence Genji points out that Hanzo enters the den of his enemies every year.
Guys. Look at 7:58 when he draws the arrow from his quiver. He takes two at once, and holds one in between his fingers when he shoots at Genji. Fucking badass.
genji can indeed reverse hanzos ultimate, ONLY IF, genji block the actual arrow before the dragons, hanzo always throws an arrow and then the dragons come out in the same direction, you will die if you see the dragons coming at you and just stay there and try to block it, it is possible, but really REALLY HARD!
Actually, it's not like Hanzo does not like Genji turning into a robot (It's actually a suit, he is not a robot) When he says "What have you become?" he was talking about his face which was all black and burnt which I think happens when he falls into the flames while fighting at the beginning of the short.
We do know Talon is an organization that is actively evil. Widowmaker is a part of that, not sure about Reaper since there is reason to believe (based on audio dialog between him and Mercy) that he too, like Genji, was brought back by her intervention. But I do not think he is a part of Talon. The video of the museum simply shows Widowmaker and Reaper working together but he does mention working with someone else as a partner in his audio cues.
i think it's important to mention that TF2 doesn't really(???) explain why both teams have the exact same people, just color-switched, or why you can have multiples of one character. so while over time they have come to explain things and give the game some lore, there's other gameplay elements that still don't make sense. i'm sure overwatch's lore will expand over time, but there will always be some things (widowmaker and reaper working with overwatch for example) that can't be explained and won't be. gameplay vs. story segregation.
Every character in this game is former Overwatch. A few of them became mercenaries after Overwatch was shut down. Overwatch's HQ was blown up by someone on the inside. There's not necessarily a good side or bad side in the way you mean it. These characters are all Overwatch or at least used to be.
Tookieslam True. Bastion was originally on the robot side of the Omni Crisis but joined as a peacekeeper many years after the war. Widowmaker and Reaper were never a part of Overwatch, but a terrorist organization called Talon. The one that was with Overwatch was Genji who worked in Asia to eliminate an organized crime syndicate, where he eventually found his brother Hanzo.
Hanzo was the better swordsman, he struck genji with his fathers sword thats what you see he honors. He took to weilding the bow in honor of genji.Genji is now deadpool, poor genji.
They are booth not in overwatch. They where part of the Shimada clan. Hanzo was the older Brother and would be the next leader. But Genji leaved the Clan when he was 18 or 19. And the Clan elders said he needs Genji to help him out. So he finds Genji but Genji wont join the clan. So Hanzo has to kill him. Becouse he woulnt be the next clan leader. But after he killed him he realises what he has done and left the Shimada clan to restore his honor. Angela Ziegler (Mercy) finds Genji and ressurects him and gives him his suit. He was full of rage and wanted to Destroy the Clan for doing this to him. he does it until he meets Zenyatta. Zenyatta helps Genji to find his inner Pease ( i have no idea how you write this ) Thats why he can reflect the Bullets and stuff. And thats Also Why he can controll the Dragons. Or the Dragon in Genjis case. Hanzo learns it from Praying. ( Hanzo has 2 Dragons becouse he spliced his soul in half by killing Genji. Thats also why Genji wont grand him the Dead he wishes to. So after the finding the inner pease, Genji trackes down Hanzo who still thinks he is dead. And wants to get Hanzo on his side.
Swiss Pictures So much of what you said is wrong that I don't even have the time to list all your mistakes. However, I advise you go (back?) to the wiki and read it properly
Ma Greiner I don't play the game..so I have no idea about the lore. I only know international group helps people, people want them to go away. one agent gets attacked, he re-unites the old team.
Yeah, and Widowmaker is so far their confirmed asset. Reaper is more of a mercenary working on his own just hunting Overwatch members down. But Talon is why she is there in the animated short "Alive". Also, in Numambani (after watching a video from Seagull during a Reaper gameplay in February) there's a news reel over one, if not more, buildings saying Talon conducted a terrorist attack.
You can deflect pretty much everything that's an projectile as genji... hell even mccree's flash and tracers ult can be reflected... mei's ult as well... :P
You should visit overwatch.wikia.com/wiki/Overwatch_Wiki and look for the story of each one that would anwser all your questions about the lore and heroes. Hanzo and genji were members of a criminal family "the shimada clan", and once their father died, hanzo been the oldest took the power, but genji never really care about the family bussiness, so hanzo was forced to kill him, because genji was somehow not honoring the family legacy, hanzo thought he killed genji, but he didnt, so half dead, one of overwatch agent(mercy) found him and saved him, but due to hes body almost useless, they helped him by giving him a cyborg body, but still with hes human soul and mind, he joined overwatch for a while, but after they took the shimada empire down he left overwatch looking for anwser, he was disgusted about hes robotic body, then time after, he meet a monk called zenyatta who helped him and made genji hes discipule. Hanzo actually used to fight with a sword like genji, but after he killed hes brother he refused to use any abilitie or weapon that he used when killed genji, so thats why now he uses aa bow, and if you look at the cinematic "dragons" you can see the hanzo sword where hes honoring hes brother, and if you go to the game, everything that happened in this cinematic is in the in-game map, the shuriken, the arrows, the broken lamp, everything is there, just get a peek on the last part of the map.
They can't be ninjas if they're Japanese. Ninjas are Chinese, Samurai are Japanese, and Genji and Hanzo are neither because being a Samurai was an official title hundreds of years ago, unlike being a Ninja. That makes Mei more of a ninja than Genji. How has no one pointed this out yet?
Well since there's no story campaign, people don't expect you to get the story right away, you have to research it. Basically Overwatch has a better story than TF2, you just don't know enough to believe so
From what I remember, they didn't until they started coming out with Class updates. But it was pretty much self explanatory, Red vs Blue. This game actually has lore, why characters are who they are and why they fight - they all have a story to them as well as Overwatch itself which became Public Enemy #1 and disbanded. That is why Winston in his animated short is conflicted about Recalling everyone.
if there all a team why are they fighting well most of them are a team reaper and widowmaker are actually from black watch which is evil overwatch I think
Widowmaker isn't from Blackwatch and Blackwatch wasn't evil but merely an undercover corps of the regular Overwatch (McCree was part of it too by the way).
