DRAINING PONDS IN THE FOREST ROAD!

That's what I do every spring along my gravel road here in New England. Quite often I can just use a garden hoe to reopen the drainage ditches.

That road needs some serious regrading.

Wish you would have stayed with 1 or 2 and shown as much of a complete drainage of 1 or 2 of the puddles as they drained. Running water is so satisfying...Great job by the way!

Thank you for bringing us this very interesting video. It was kind of you to drain these ponds in the road as if you had not done so they would have remained as people would not have drained these ponds themselves. The people appreciate what you have done for the community.

Throwing the dirt from the road into the grass is incorrect you need to FILL in the low spots in the road Your just making the “ponds deeper” for the next time You need to fill it and establish a higher grade

Just a suggestion: The road pools because of lack of drainage and due to the roadbed being below grade. Anytime you're removing material to improve the drainage, put it back into the roadbed to raise the grade rather than tossing it away. The roadside buildup comes from dirt/gravel/mud being splashed to the side -- add it back, otherwise, you will have permanent pooling.

Why not use the dirt to refill the ruts in the road?
