Drake - 4PM In Calabasas REACTION! [First Time Hearing] 

So the backstory to this is that he was mainly dissing Diddy with some slight jabs at Joe Budden, Meek Mill, and possibly Kanye. It's mainly a Diddy diss though because he got mad at Drake because he wanted Drake to ghostwrite a song for him but Drake decided to keep it because he honestly just made an incredible song out of it and there is no way he can fit it for Diddy unless he drastically reduces the quality of the song in my opinion and the beat came from one of his closest friends who is a producer anyways. Diddy even confronted Drake about it in a club one day and sucker-punched him. The song in question is "0 to 100 / The Catch Up" which is a song that I consider in his top 10 best songs. If you hear it you'll see why. I highly really recommend it. When you listen to you'll understand why Drake kept it. By the way, when you listen to it I'd recommend reacting to the one on RU-vid or if you can find the 6 minute long version anywhere you can. The one on streaming services is missing a pretty good outro sample. You can tell 4PM in Calabasas is a diss towards Diddy because of the way he ingeniously incorporates a lot of references to him without ever saying his name. For example: • "can't nobody hold me down" is a lyric in a Diddy song of the same name, "can't stop" is a lyric and part of a Diddy song called Can't Stop, Won't Stop. • "Even had the OG's tryna press me, ha-ha-ha, ha / No way out 'cause I'm already in it" --- The laughing part is something Diddy did in "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down" and "No Way Out" is a Diddy album. • "Just total the hits and see what you find / you SWV cause you weak and I'm always, always on your mind" --- Total and SWV are two big female R&B groups from the 90s (speaking of 90s you can say that Drake's flow in this is reminiscent to some flows from that time which is an era where Diddy started out in and was probably where he was his most famous). Total was signed to Diddy and SWV did a song with him. SWV also has songs called "Weak" and "You're Always On My Mind" Those are just some examples of the subtle wordplay and allusions he was using throughout the whole song. The way he was mocking everyone was just amazing. It was very lyrical while having a beat, flow, and throwing in melodies here and there that literally makes you able to dance to it as well. One of best Drake's best songs for sure. The funny thing is that he cool with everyone he is dissing in this song now (Unless he was dissing Kanye too because he ain't cool with him right now obviously). If I had to rank the Time records it would be: 4PM In Calabasas 5AM In Toronto 6PM In New York 9AM In Dallas How would you rank it?
