There's no way some people are calling this dude a bust already and the next Trubisky. He's so clearly talented on film. The Commanders _should_ take him at 2.
The amount of people who say this is shocking. Situation, mentallity, and luck. That's the key with literally everyone who goes to the league. The most talented players without one of those three doesn't succeed.
nothing is for sure, curious how well he will do in the pocket, at improvising he seems like he is on pat mahomes level with the arm maybe. But can he play in the pocket, cool you can improvise but need a QB to be able to scan a field find the wide open guy. One of the main reasons stroud is doing great, great in the pocket, quick reads with great ball placement. If Maye can conquer the pocket he could be another mahomes or similar.
I’ve watched this young man play every game last season and this kid is the real deal !! If he stays in school he will hold every School record and a lot of NCAA records too …
The arm strength is so damn rare! He can throw an accurate ball while being hit hurried and almost sacked it’s rare and pretty amazing to watch. This dude is gonna be a superstar at the next level. Hope the Raiders can get him to compete with Mahomes
@samharold69 Wrong. Many do. And even if you're an atheist, you gotta like the groundedness that it brings. It's not about the religion. It's about having his feet planted on the ground.
@samharold69 90% of the players aren't the ones who are concerned about it. It's the GMs and personnel people. You're missing the point. But I'm glad you are.
@@kl-re9fj idk abt this whole nfl ready thing. He is a rookie he needs to learn though you protect him by running the ball and giving him some easy reads dont ask him to throw the ball 40 times a game like they did with Sam Howell
Looks like a more athletic Dan Marino. He can put it anywhere. Can read what the defenders are going to do before they do it. Absolutely elite at throwing the ball
Smooth release, great arm strength and power, deep ball is top-notch, the off-platform throws are there, and is an underrated athlete at 6'4" 225. Though the highlight reels won't show it, his mechanics can get a little sloppy at times but I'm not too worried about it. He would've gone first overall over Bryce Young in this past draft and could challenge Caleb Williams for that right next April.
@@JustinKanicki ah my bad. Thougt the Seahawks were still fleecing your trash organization. Good luck eating that nice cap hit from Russell Cringeson. 🤣
I don't watch college ball, but i keep hearing about Caleb Williams & Drake Maye. Seeing comment sections on videos for the two, Maye seems to be the more respected.
I wanted to instantly point out all the bad I see in him. But this kid is actually Nice you don’t see to many QBs at 6’5 move like that in and out of the pocket. He Nice 💯
I like this kid. He’s got fun traits. Reminds me of Arod with more running ability, but less pure arm talent. He has elite arm/body flexibility while on the move tho
Here after he beat my canes that kid can play damn.. despite him being sacked 3 times i believe if he has the offensive line Miami hurricanes have they would be national champions .
I disagree. Ball placement and a quick release. But he has all that too. Lamar Jackson was throwing ducks his first year and had terrible footwork but the ball was on target most times. I only look at Footwork and throwing motion for guys who have bad accuracy or ball placement.
@@ryerob4815 Yeah well after watching the Giants for many years you’ll understand why I think that’s a big trait lol. Either way, he has the accuracy on the run with a nice spiral to it.
I would say top 5, there’s still Caleb Williams, Micheal Penix, Bo Nix, and Jordan Travis. If you are referring to NFL potential then yeah he probably is #2 behind Williams
@@Berley_1234 So just because his team isn’t the best doesn’t mean he isn’t one of the best. This is a problem. A trophy should be the best player in the country, not the best player on a contender. While usually it is if Drake Maye finishes with the leading passing yards, touchdowns and whatever and he deserves it he should get it. The heisman is a player award not a team award
@@larrylane7822 oh he is one of the best for sure... but he plays on a team and they're not that great. I'm saying, he has the portal, looks like if he really wanted to secure top billing in NFL draft he'd have gone to Alabama like 1st thing afgter december
I understand if people may prefer other QBs in this upcoming draft, but how can you deny the talent? Yes, he's still developing/makes a bad pass here and there, but for someone in his 2nd year AND with his 2nd offensive coordinator/new weapons, he's shown more than enough (CERTAINLY a better arm/accuracy than some qbs in the league, like daniel brown, others)
You know what impressed me about this kid? He can get the ball out fast and from every angle no matter what position his feet are in and that's not easy to do. And Imo it's why he will become a starter at the next level. Malhomes throws the ball from awkward angles also.
@@AdrianGarcia-xg1yc I honestly don't know what I meant by that part of the comment, the panther part idk. Anyways I think i was half a asleep and meant Caleb is likely to bust more than maye, maye looks more of a NFL QB. Bears SHOULD take him. But idk they won't watch for some odd reason for fields or caleb
Lol the lies, you mean the same JJ that they didn’t allow to throw a pass against Penn State in the second half! Yeah very Mahomes like lol You must be a Michigan fan or you just don’t know what you talking about lol
It doesn't matter where he goes this guy is a complete package isn't scared to do anything sees the opportunity and takes it without hesitation my boy dead leggin dudes this is beyond me
I'm sorry but if your in the lower conference and not even the best QB in your conference I don't see how wash draft this kid over the heisman winner. If he doesn't work they need to fire peaters
I honestly don’t know if my cardinals should go with Caleb Williams or Drake Maye. Yes Caleb is Mahomes 2.0 but he has big bust potential where Drake is Justin Herbert/ Eli Manning 2.0 & those play styles really are super secure to have on your team. Either way he’s gonna change a franchise regardless ngl
@@jackplatts5902 yes but that doesn’t mean we can’t trade him away for some late round picks like 5-7, Commanders, Falcons, Raiders etc… would love him.
@@davidgorena8216kyler on the falcons would be kinda crazy tho I’m a broncos fan so I’m trying to see prospects as well and yes I know Russ is on contract but we’re definitely getting a top 3 pick and we’re picking QB to start fresh
If Caleb and Jayden go 1/2 I'd be ecstatic if my Vikes somehow make their way to 3 and grab Maye. Good kid he's gonna work, first one in last one out, it's the things you can't measure this young man has.
@@Berley_1234bc he, along with his family, bleeds Carolina blue. His entire family went/goes there and is loyal to UNC. It’s not always about the contenders 🤷♂️
Bears need to draft him over Caleb Williams this guy has Franchise QB talent. He sees the field so well and you can see him processing multiple steps ahead even during the play 🐻⬇️
Absolute stud! If last years UNC team had a good defense they would’ve been scary. A good defense with Drake Maye throwing to Josh Downs could’ve made the playoffs. They had some bad losses in the end and I think with that they could’ve pulled the wins out and upset clemson
What do you mean "not quite the runner Lawrence is"?? Maye is the better runner. 698 rushing yards and 7tds. Lawrence never had more than 563 rush yards. Give me maye all day.
