Yea l am scouting as well. This guy could be one of those with great talent but can never get it together in the NFL.. I am leaning on JJ from Michigan.

No QB prospect is perfect, that is why sitting for year or two makes so much sense. I truly believe guys like Zach Wilson, Sam Darnold, and Bryce Young all were broken mentally because they were thrown into bad situations before they were ready. I firmly believe Jordan Love would be working at Wendy's right now had he been forced to start right away, but he had two years to learn and get ready and now look at him.

Are you watching this on mute? I would not draft this guy in the first. Major overhyped. I don’t see anything that separates Maye from Nix and McCarthy etc. He just isn’t impressive enough for a top 5 pic.

I think if you coach him for a year or two before starting, he will be worth a higher pick than the 3 qbs behind him. They don't offer the same ceiling even though their floor is temporarily higher

@@joeysmith5767 Possibly, yes. I’ve seen him play complete games and he looks brilliant, then broken, like he just breaks down on a simple play. One would think he would have worked that out by now, but with demands of HS and college, maybe not. His footwork and technique need a lot of work, too, as Simms points out. They should have beaten GT this year, but they didn’t - largely because of his inconsistency. He definitely needs a year or two in the NFL to figure it out first, because the pocket closes and the windows get smaller up there.

@@joeysmith5767 Maybe. But we've seen this quite a lot in the NFL. You can have every tool, but if you're even a tick off in processing, you end up getting a Mitch Trubisky. Processing will trump everything. You don't get many cases like Josh Allen who came in with accuracy problems and processing problems, but improved. But even then, when we look at his game now, it pops up still. Bad decision making and processing. High int guy that people are starting to doubt can win it all. If your job is on the line, the other Qbs might be a safer pick, even if their ceiling isn't as high.

@@seaborn7023so not to be snarky and I don’t totally disagree with your assessment of his footwork but the unc offense scored 42 points in that game and only lost because tez Walker fumbled inside GTs 20 after Drake hit him on a 30 yard strike with about a minute left. Maye has some flaws I agree but they are correctable. We also have to take into account the supporting cast he has is the worst of any of the top prospects and it’s not close. So many of his criticisms are Herbert to a tee. A lot to work with physically. The simms comment about him being the worst in the pocket is nonsense as you can see from this breakdown. Personally I think nix is the worst in the pocket and Caleb has a bad backpedaling habit that will get him destroyed in the nfl. None of these guys are perfect and it’s warners job to nitpick. Maye is still a high end prospect who should and will go top 3

None of us know how good or bad he'll be as a pro. You're not a professional QB analyst, and neither am I. You're basing your forecast on a hunch.

@@arcadeshift5071 i can appreciate Im no professional and my opinion doesnt matter and all players coming in are a gamble but Ive heard these same things from multiple former nfl players not just one along with my own observations. And isnt their opinion a hunch as well? They see why he is a top prospect but all of them have said he isnt ready to play. Missing easy throws isnt ready to play as only one example that he sited multiple times in both videos. That would be a huge red flag to me but Im not a pro. What Im saying is that worth 3 1sts for a hope he is capable in a year or do you look at this draft that is “so deep” and take a chance on another that wont set you so far back if your wrong and also allow you a chance to improve elsewhere? Im not going to relisten as much as I enjoy his content but I believe Kurt said while he has a high ceiling he has a pretty low floor as well for a top prospect. Sounds like boom or bust. If it was one 1st I would be all in if he was whats available but not at 3 1s. Should have started with that.

Go look at Mahomes' draft projection. It's not just about how good they are in college. It's about coaching them up and developing them.

@@wideglide2153I agree with you - he’s a boom or bust prospect based on the tape. However, he does have many intangibles in his favor such as a very athletic and supportive family, he’s ultra competitive and a natural leader who holds himself accountable.

He's not the passer that Goff is/was. He's more athletic, that's about it.

@@yolo25000 I didn't mention his 'passing', he's obviously not the passer Goff was. Goff broke ALL of Aaron Rodgers records at Cal, so, he was a LOT more accurate than Maye is. I'm actually concerned about it, IMO, he's not ready for the draft and what ever team gets him better sit him, like how Jordan Love was behind Rodgers at Green Bay.
