John Prime, and Bonnie Raitt. Angel from Montgomery. I remember my grandmother listen to this on vinal, over and over, she loved it. I wish she was here now. To hear this version. You are very talented sir and I love this rendition of the song. Keep on jamming, bro. Amazing!!

you know this was written from the perspective of a 45 yr. old housewive. right? so when you go from the third person (never mind gender at this tine) to the first for the chorus, not only does it not make sense, but the stunning part is that you are posessed of the hubris to change John Prine's lyrics. so.... why didn't you say the old wonan/young girl part?

V1 she was a young woman, then in V2 when she was a young girl? So we're in third person but then we're in first person chorus? John Prine wrote it and performed it and other men such as Dave Matthews have performed it. Are you that insecure? The entire song is supposed to be in first person. First person in the perspective of an old woman. I am an old woman named after my mother. You have not done this classic Justice.

@@1xenman1 well if he wanted to change the lyrics he had to do it right, at least. If he changed "I am an old woman" to "She was" he should have sung the chorus as "She is an angel"..
