I wish there was full video. A simple tweet or post doesn’t hold much weight honestly. I’ll say this: as long as they ain’t on the property and side walk cool. But be respectful because it is their house. Remember it’s easier said than done. Reality is we don’t know what the owners go through on a daily basis. The comments of “they should’ve know” ok. But fans should know it’s their house not yours. Respect is a two way street.
Fuckin A! You are 100% correct. With the legacy of these films and how long they have been around, there is no way this individual didn't know. There's no way lol
@@abelestrada-vb9uq Jason’s right, it’s not on the guys property. That guy in the video needs to realize it’s film history. People are going to want to see pictures of the house. It’s not like they’re saying let me come in now.
Fucking agreed, man. I don’t get how anyone could defend the girl or tourist types lmao. I’d be irritated as hell dealing with that constantly, and I’m a hardcore horror fan.
@michaelkikle3018 I never get why people would buy a famous house and then complain that people want to see it. Someone bought the Goonies House, and he goes to war with anyone driving up the road.
He should move because the house was in a movie. People live in their own little bubbles. I can only imagine what he deals with people who feel entitled.
It was only 10 or so years ago when the nightmare house was on the market and not only was the houses historical significance mentioned in the listing but there was a significant markup because of it. It’s hard to believe this owner didn’t know or wasn’t interested. There were more affordable houses in the area that would have guaranteed total privacy. Perhaps he regrets his decision but that doesn’t give him the right to act like a total dick to a neighbor who was non threatening.
See the problem here is that this dude bought Freddy's house, the thing to note about this situation here is that if you end up buying a house from a iconic piece of horror you're gonna have horror fans stopping by and see the house; if you don't expect that to happen then you set yourself up for failure. That's just it. Plain and fucking simple.
He shouldn't have let her bother him. She's just on the sidewalk. The film location I got to see was the stairs from the Exorcist in Georgetown. So cool!
Man, if i owned a iconic horror movie house, I'd be so inviting. I'd allow anyone anytime lol, even if im having a bad day. Too bad i don't own an iconic house
I've met the Strode house owners, and they are wonderful. Same with the hedge house. Heard the Doyle and Wallance owners were poop heads, so I took quick pics from across the street. Would be pretty fun to dress get a group together, dress up as Myers's, and trick or treat both of them for candy on Halloween night.
Would I do this? Go to a house from a movie? Yes. Am I gonna go up to the house my friend use to live in and explain to the new owners what went down, and how cool it was? Nah. But absolutely this guy bought an iconic location. And it's foolish to think your front yard trumps pop culture in the minds of millions.
I agree. And I live half an hour east of the actual Amityville Horror house, which people gravitate to in droves and I’ve never seen or heard of any owner flipping out like this guy did
Go to Astoria, Oregon to the Goonies House. The guy has the whole street covered in "Do not enter" signs. He actually chases people who turn on his street.
Jason, you're a great guy and I agree with you most of the time but you're wrong here. This is a home, not an attraction. People deserve privacy. He could have been nicer but I'm sure he has to deal with a lot of tourists and social media influencers. Fans of these franchises need to understand that it is a privilege to take photos of private property and not a right. Sure we would love for the purchasers to understand what they are getting into when they buy these iconic homes but the truth is most of them are probably just looking for a place to live and couldn't careless about what movie their home was in.
That’s ok. We can disagree on this. If she was doing anything wrong and coming on to his property I would agree with you. But they aren’t even in his yard. They are outside his gate and she is just walking by. He comes to pick a fight with her because he didn’t like what she said to others standing out there. And a person who can spend 3 million dollars on a house can find plenty of suitable places to live without the inconvenience that comes with the property.
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 I agree with you this guy was a jerk. I believe that a large number of Gen Xers, Millenials, and Gen Z involved with various pop culture fandoms think their obsession with their fantasy is more important than other people's reality. I know you're not one of those people. I'm a big theme park fan. I worked at WDW while at UCF. One thing that has soured me a bit about theme parks is all of these 40-plus RU-vidrs sticking their cameras everywhere just for clicks. It's kind of embarrassing to see how self-entitled some of these people are. I'm sure these homeowners feel the same way when interacting with some of these fans.
I hope they didn't let that guy ruin their day. That guy looked like he made up his mind to have a miserable day no matter what. What a jerk. He's probably still mad!😆
As long as the buyers are aware of the history of the house then fair game. He looks like a foreigner, hopefully he didn't get tricked into buying the house without knowing what it is.
Great video! I would love to live in a classic horror house. I would do something similar to what the previous owners of the Strode house did with the pumpkin. I wonder if this guy didn't know it was a classic horror house when he bought it. When I visited the Myers house from Halloween 5 and the Myers/Strode house from Halloween 6, I got to speak with the owners. They were both cool. The Halloween 5 Myers house owners said that the listing clearly stated that Halloween 5 was filmed in the house. As for the Halloween 6 owners, I asked them if they knew it was the Halloween 6 Myers/Strode house when they bought it. They told me they had no idea but they quickly figured something was up because people kept coming by and taking pictures of their house. I asked him if it bothered them and he said he had no problem with it. They seem to be embracing it even more these days because both the Halloween 5 and Halloween 6 houses are part of On Set Cinema where you can watch the movie on the property once a year. Jamie Lloyd's house from Halloween 4 where the famous ending of Halloween 4 was shot is awesome. Two years ago, I visited and the house was completely decorated with Michael Myers and Jamie Lloyd stuff. I would love to buy that house and live in it but there's two problems, the house is not for sale and even if it were, I don't have that kind of money. Ha ha
He knew. It was mentioned in the listing. He must have paid much higher than the market value of the property if the older listing is any indication. The house itself is already located in one of the most desirable areas in Los Angeles. It's not really a suburb either given its close proximity to the inner city and areas of high congestion. It sold for $3 million in 2022 and would be worth even more today. I doubt this video will elicit much sympathy for the owner from most people, let alone fans of NOES.
Living in NY, I been to a bunch of places that were in films but the one place I went to purposely was “The Joker Stairs”. Those stairs are a journey to go up on
That guy was a jerk. He’s gonna act like a punk to someone who is honestly a fan. The people who own the house in The Goonies have been mean to people apparently so it’s just some people being sour. I agree with you @Sinister Cinema Reviews. Just seems like some people want to be mean to fans. Ty for the content and I hope you and everyone are doing well man.
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 Check the Jason Hawes channel out. The owner lost her mind. It's more on the drama side of things. But it involves spirits, "curtain attempts", and other stuff.
The owner pretty much turned insane. Ex employees accused for stealing money, by spirits and the owner. One ex employee accused by her, for a assassination attempt and other weird stuff.
Gosh, there are so many locations I would want to go to - I hope one day when I retire, I can do stuff like that. I do want to see all of the locations in Pittsburgh from the Romero Dead series, and like you, the Exorcist steps, the inspiration for the Overlook, stuff like that. For me, any cemetery locations would be ones I would love to check out. Creepiness vibes! Truthfully, I would love to go to New Zealand to see some of the Xena filming locations, hehe.
I visited most of the locations from Scott Pilgrim when I was in Toronto, as well as the house from Bob Clark's Black Christmas.I would have loved to explore Danvers State Asylum from Session 9, but that location is no longer standing.
Still giving a like. But that being said, its his house. His 200k plus. His. Leave the guy alone! The wallace house owner was awesome!!!!!! Too me anyway. Than again it was a 15 yr old boy. So who knows. I get your opinion as well. Guy was a douchebag. Coulda handled it way better.
I dislike how he’s acting in response, but he’s somewhat in his right to be upset with people who linger around. That woman was also being super condescending with her “awwww poor baby”. That said I agree he should have been more prepared for these kinds of people owning the house. It’s like buying a known haunted house and not expecting some fuckery
The fact you think a home in Southern California is somewhere in the ballpark of 200k is hilarious. Haha. Definitely look up housing prices in that area… I just looked and that house sold for 3 million dollars in 2022 and is now worth 3.2 million. 200k wouldn’t even cover the down payment
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 ok. I stand corrected. You are right last time I was out there was 2019 right before covid. Prices are different. But my values are the same.
I've been to Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco, as well as the diner and the cemetery Annie gets dropped off at. I's my understanding that the camp from F13th Part II can't be accessed.
Definitely overreacted. Freddy needs to visit this guy in his dreams. I would love to see the house from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. That would make me so happy.
I changed my mind, I still want to do a video on this. Can I use some of your clips of your points for my vid? I’ll link your channel in the description.
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 dang, just made the video and didn’t get a answer back yet. Still had fun with it though! Made fun of this guy so much, then gave him a little defense.
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 Brooo imagine nightmare on elm pool parties. $60 dollar entry, & BBQ. Bro imagine. It's LA too, you know im lowballing. I dind't even know theres a pool in the back.
I was distracted from 7:14 on. 🫶🏻 🐶 He can be upset all he wants. But, the sidewalk is fair game. Get over it, or move. I feel the same about the Breaking Bad house owner. Such miserable people. 🙄
That girl was nice, that guy was a jerk. This reminds me of Cromarty family complaining about the seekers at Amityville house. You know what you're getting into when you bought the house. Damaging or trespassing, that I would understand.
I know it's totally besides the point but this guy talking crap about others not being able to afford what he can, just makes me think. I live in a small house with 8 strangers and can't afford a flat, forget a house, definitely forget something really expensive like this. It is what it is. But if people who can't afford houses like this have to deal with strangers coming and going 24/7 (and if in situations like mine, that's exactly what it is), it comes off pretty antagonising to bring up the cost when complaining about people wanting to appreciate the huge expensive house you bought. I realise that's besides the point but hey it kind of annoyed me.
I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he properly had a nightmare the night before. But he's seriously has no people skills for a man. Shouting over compliments. You knew what you were getting yourself into purchasing the property 2 years ago.
Spot on! I was really taken aback at his reaction. It was so over the top (at least in that clip). The lady apologized and said something mild; it isn't like she said your house is trash and you need to do x,y,z. I certainly feel like they should respect a person's privacy, but yes, you buy an iconic or historic piece of property, you're going to get people a lot. It is a lot, but you can't buy a place like that if you're averse to that. Why did he keep going on after she apologized profusely? Also, when he said to get lost, she wasn't on his property. She was on the sidewalk, is public property. The sidewalk is NOT his. She wasn't inside the fence (in the video, at least). I would love a whole unedited version.
According to records, it was sold in 2022. The real estate company highlighted that it was the “Elm Street” home and even started taking offers on Halloween of that year. The owner knew what he was buying.
I will say as someone who has gone to hundreds of film locations including the #1 worst location to visit- the Walter White House - and has been to the Thompson house here dozens of dozens of times- you can tell she’s kind of being bitchy and mean to dude. I know the people who own that house have traditionally been cool to fans but I think from the last couple of years a lot of people have been becoming more and more rude at the Freddy house location which is why they added that white gate to dissuade people a bit. So here I’m more inclined to believe she said something shitty about the house - I’ve watched this more than once and she is definitely giving him a weird attitude- again I’ve seen that guy before and he’s been chill, she just comes off weird
I agree with the idea of respect. Obviously don't go onto the property and steal stuff; don't go looking into windows and don't go defacing the property, but as long as there's respect I see no harm in taking pictures of the house.
I like that she basically gives him her address and explains she’s his neighbor and this man is so over the entire exchange. She kept her composure but did sound a little passive aggressive at some points. The comment about she can’t afford that house, dang man got savage there. 😮
Yeah it's not that far away from you I think. Old chief woodnhead was filmed at 12890 main Street Humboldt, AZ, and The Raft was filmed at Granite Basin Lake in Prescott, AZ. it's defenetly doable for you which is super cool in i would love go there. Unfortunately I can't I'm in Miami, maybe one day.
