Never thought I was a classic because even though my body is very balanced I don’t feel graceful or elegant. Well that all changed after I started wearing tailored clothes that fit me perfectly and going for a less is more approach. Always wondered why I felt so much more comfortable in more formal/smart clothes and have a penchant for finding very high quality expensive fabrics in thrift shops. And felt like I looked disheveled without waist emphasis or in very casual clothes. Also from kibbe it made me realise how bad my posture is/was. After fixing it and getting a better fitting bra I suddenly look balanced and elegant :) Gone from feeling gangly and awkward to feeling like a princess!

Jackie makes Kibbe’s entire formula fall apart honestly. Her face and body are literal squares - easy to see in her bathing suit photos. Jaw and cheeks are chiseled and very pronounced, her waist was broad, hips were narrow. At 5”7 she was a natural kibbe type, dressing elegantly.

I had a hard time with identifying what I am between a few types but in the end I look the best and am most confident in DC clothing. I think it's kinda funny and very suiting because my mum is a true romantic, very soft and feminine and my dad is very angular and blunt and I'm pretty much a perfect mix of the two. I don't look like either of them but at the same time I look like both while you can obviously tell about my siblings who takes after who.

I just realized I'm this type after years of wondering why none of the SN, TR, R, SG and even FG recommendations truly worked on me. Being short, people always pointed to the shorter types. However, my vertical line has never seemed as small. I look awful in ruffles or relaxed clothes. Eccentric details look tacky on me. Almost nothing except skin tight and monochrome looks good on me- two colors per outfit at best. Prints look dreadful on my body. An odd thing I've always been self conscious about has been my pointy elbows, and as weird as it sounds, I've been realizing just how common of a feature they are in classics in general, but especially so in dramatic classics. It can appear in other body types but not as often. It's a funny detail, I guess.

Hello! here is a list of the women who are DK verified: Jill Biden, Connie Sellecca, Diana Rigg, Gena Rowlands, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Jane Wyman, Katharine Ross, Linda Gray, Maria Shriver, Olivia Munn, Phylicia Rashad, Polly Bergen, Suzanne Pleshette, Tracy Scoggins My speculations about who might be DC: Brie Larson, Emma Watson, Selena Gomez, Queen Letizia of Spain, Kelly Rutherford and Courteney Cox. Honestly I'm not totally committed to ANY of these women as DC icons but I just really wanted to include more celebrities in the video to make it more interesting for you. Thank you for finally posting about the Dramatic Classic! I watched your Selena Gomez video and you managed to convince me that she might be DC... It would be interesting to see what DK would type all these non-verified women as, especially Emma Watson - I can never make up my mind about her, because she seems more FG to me (or at least her essence - she reminds me of Audrey Hepburn kind of), but she is pretty balanced, so what do I know?! As you mention in your other comment, Kate Middleton is styled quite DC a lot of the time, so I think she can be an inspiration style-wise for DC women (even if she is not DC herself). On a completely different note, even though I know DK has mentioned Kate Middleton as a possible FN, I just can't see it personally, because she just looks so sloppy and lost in unconstructed clothing and with more ''natural''/undone hair - to me she has always seemed more like a Dramatic (I always notice how narrow she is and how awesome she looks in sleek hairstyles and long, narrow tailored silhouettes). I managed to get quite side-tracked, sorry, when I just wanted to say that I think your observations are so interesting and I really enjoy watching your channel :)

I love this aesthetic... It seems there's a lot of overlap in the Kibbe World between Body Type and Clothes Aesthetic... Like I see you mention Kate Middleton in a comment here. Her style *has* to be in the Classic spectrum due to her role as a Princess, but her body looks very FN, and thus she looks a bit restricted and like she's trying to play the role of a princess. A video dedicated to her would be awesome. Also comparing with Diana who seemed to dress her FN body more relaxed than Kate does within the same rules. In fact, a royal series in general would be fun. Comparing Madde (who I think might be FN too, or perhaps a DC?) with Victoria who I struggle to see as anything but SN. And Mette-Marit who looks more FN than FN itself. And Queen Margrethe who I think might be a D... Okay, you get the idea. I'm getting carried away here 🤣

That's so funny! A few days ago I asked reddit my body type and I got mostly FG, DC or D - So I again studied the celebrities of all these types. After looking at a lot of DC examples, I googled once again Emma Watson. And I suddenly couldn't see her as gamine anymore. I now think, that she is very balanced within her narrowness. Her essence is just a bit more spunky. I think that's might come from her facial features - that's why she looks awesome with a pixie cut - but her body is pretty balanced.

No I think she's very clearly a flaboyant gamine. Many of her outfits are very gaminish, especially as she got older and you don't really see the pattern, you see her wearing the outfit, she SHINES in colour block. Also her face is very flaboyant gamine, her features pop, they are not balanced. There is a picture of her in a polkdot suit and it looks amazing on her, you don't notice the pattern. Lilly Collins is also a flaboyant gamine for example and youight also think that her face and body look balanced, but they are not.

I absolutely love that blue floral dress at 10:40. Of course, it would look very different on me than it does on the lady, but I feel compelled to make it anyway. I don't care if I'll look short, it's gorgeous! I think people type Emma Watson as a gamine because of her face. I think people assume Jackie Kennedy can't be a dramatic classic for the same reason. I definitely thought she had a "natural face" when I first learned about the kibbe-types. Turns out, she had a "dramatic classic face" all along because she's a dramatic classic and it's her face.

Confused about my type, my thought process oscillating between Flamboyant Natural, Dramatic and Dramatic Classic, I stripped it off in front of the mirror, basically a long, sharp skeleton with boobs. Same with whatever weight. You could call that frame dominant? After the panic attack settles, I guess it's Dramatic, then. The Kibbe typology is God sent and amazingly healing, but can be emotionally demanding to go through. Years of body shaming and every harsh word has, in my case, surfaced, to be replaced with something better. It's a healing process I definitely recommend! 💖

A bit of an excerpt of my Kibbe journey. I first heard of it about 7 years ago and was very interested. I took the quiz and came to the conclusion I must either be SG or TR (not understanding a single thing I read tbh). I tried both of those lines and it looked very weird on me, so I was like "this either isn't working or I was completely wrong". I then hopped on when someone offered free typing as long as you'd accept your pics being shown in their video, I submitted and waited. They told me I was SN and probably had strong Ingenue and a bit of Ethereal essence. I then tried those lines, still felt too soft, too romantic and rounded for me but I wasn't sure if that was just my personal opinion/aesthetic clashing with the image the SN lines created on me. I then neglected any recommendations and just went down my own road, wore whatever I liked and felt insanely great. Then a few years ago (2 or 3) I hopped back on the Kibbe band wagon and then read about his height restrictions. I then knew I could only be either DC, FN, SD or D. Since that person back then had told me I had width, I was thinking "alright, I must be FN then" and didn't feel too bad in FN lines, but somewhat wrong, like almost drowned. I was then contemplating if I might be D, but felt like that was impossible since I don't have the sharpness or narrowness of a D at all. I had ruled out any D ID in the very first moment of starting to read about Kibbe because I only ever saw videos featuring Classics in all formal clothes which wasn't my thing at all. But I then reviewed my pictures I had taken to type myself. Full body in underwear and full face (at a distance of about 1.5 to 2m, slightly zoomed in, then cropped to avoid any lense distortion, wearing no make up at all). And I was like... "I don't see width, I don't see extreme vertical, I don't see typical Kibbe curve, I don't see narrowness. My arms, legs, hands and feet are super moderate but my shoulders are square yet rather narrow... In conservative body typing systems I always was considered a lower heavy hourglass or pear with my shoulders balancing the shape, mimicing the silhouette of a slight hourglass. My face proportions really... without any make up nothing sticks out, nothing is overly prominent, selfies really distort your face and might make some features look way more prominent than they are.", so I just hit myself on the forehead and was like "I am so dumb!", I do literally fit the description of a DC perfectly. And I then thought about what I wore the most when I didn't think about what could be my Kibbe ID. I did wear athleasure but in DC lines and always in monochromatic outfits. I wore thicker fabrics that would hold the shape and anything did really fit the DC line recommendations. Thing is: just because you don't like wearing blazers, tailored pants and chic mules, doesn't mean you can't wear DC lines. It totally works. Remember: Kibbe is not a style or an aesthetic. It merely just allows you to learn how fabrics drape over and down on your body and which type of fit/line/fabric quality and density works best for you. You can go for whatever style you like, no matter your Kibbe ID. I prefer edgy and comfy clothes hence why I prefer athleasure in darker colors with trim yet minimal details. the lines I choose include mock necks, trim edges/seams, structured outlines and as I said fabrics that holds you in a bit more. Whenever I wear joggers, they usually look like dressy pants and my sneakers are slim, minimal and do have a sculpted look to them. These clothes look amazing with tailored faux leather jackets over top or even with a trench coat thrown over. If I don't wear these types of clothes, I usually go for skinny jeans, a basic and plain fitted longsleeve or turtleneck or something like that. I by now own a blazer and dressy tailored pants that I really like but that took a long time until I found something I would not only wanna wear for special occasions. I now have lots of unconstructed and oversized clothes in my wardrobe and I definitely won't toss them out, but I am glad I now understand why I VERY OFTEN look at myself wearing them and think "Meh, this doesn't do me much of a favor, really.", if I feel great in them, I don't care, but if I feel weird in them, I usually put them aside and into my collection of "clothes to flip" and am glad I can sew. But if you have clothes that don't go with your lines, don't forget, you CAN make certain things work if you can combine them in a way that does allow you to honor your own lines (e.g. an unconstructed button up shirt tucked in pants/a skirt and a tailored jacket on top). And no, DCs are not boring and don't have to dress boring. They also don't have to wear formal outfits all the time, definitely not. But their superpower really just is that they can look put together, elegant and cool in very minimal and simplistic outfits WITHOUT looking boring at all.

I might be a some Classic type (167cm) for years I was told I was curvy, but honestly, I don’t think I’m curve dominant, lately I thought I was SN, but I have been buying new stuff and paying more attention to the way clothes do actually fit on my body, hate on me loose/wide/cowl necklines, it looks to big on me, unconstructed clothing, ballon arms, to loose or tight, cropped shirts or pants.. big long hair or above the chin. When I gain weight, I gain it evenly. When I have the ideal weight, I look moderate and a bit trim, nothing stands out, length nor the width. It suits me better clothing but more tailored, more closed necklines or more accurate, moderate length in clothes and hair.

@christinegruber4015
@christinegruber4015 7 месяцев назад
Yes, you can be. The range of beeing a Dramatic Classic is between 1,65 cm and 1,75 cm. But most Dramatic Classics are about 1,67 cm - 1, 71 cm. I' m also a DC and I am 1,66 cm. We can rock the rich bitch look. Give me a Balmain Blazer, form fitting and elegant trousers and some chelsea boots and some glitter jewlleries and I look like a million Dollar and completely myself. But give me an outfit where Naturals look good in and I feel lost in the huge amount of fabric and I am not myself. Also the Gamine Style is to childish for us. In Soft Dramatic clothes we cannot handle the lot of drappings and open necklines and open shoulders. We look best in clean and simple necklines, without a lot of going on near our face. If you can handle a lot of going on near youre face, youre definitly not a Dramatic Classic . If we put on the clothes of a pure Dramatic, we feel like in prison. We still have a moderate amount of Ying in our appereance and when we dress 100% like a pure Dramatic, we miss the beautiful Ying part. And the worst a DC can do, is dressing for a Romantic type, with light weight fabrics, lots of flowers and frills. We Dramatic Classics have to take a close look to our hair. More than any other type in my opinion. We shine in very sleek, glossy and glass looking hair, like no other type. It suits our type and facestructure the most. When our hair is weavy, curly, messy, or air dried it takes away from our symetry. And everything what is unruled, doesnt look good on us. When I see a DC with little curls I wanna cry. But remember our hair should be silky smooth and sleek, but still with quite a lot of volume. The 100% sleek look without volume, looks only good on pure Dramatics like Cate Blanchett for example. An other thing for DC is the eyeliner. Our facestructure is made for eyeliner. We and the Soft Dramatic ladies are those, who truly shine with black eyeliner.

Why can't they be taller than 5'7"? I have every attribute but I'm "too tall" If the idea is "despite a prominent yang feature you still lean towards ying" then isn't it theoretically possible that a woman over 5'7" tall could still be equally as balanced and so a dramatic classic. I see most people explaining this system iterating that the exception is made for girls shorter than the height range, but never for taller. I promise we're not all super skinny, narrow and angular. Some of us are softer and have pear and hourglass figures. It's almost like this system was created back when really tall=model=thin and editorial look.
@StyleThoughtsbyRita
@StyleThoughtsbyRita 2 года назад
Technically if you are 5'8 and soft/pear then SD is probably the best fit. Kibbe is not God, this is not The Absolute Truth About Style. He definitely says that he has not met any DC who is 5'7" but you don't need to listen to him

@rhinestonecowgirl1406
@rhinestonecowgirl1406 3 года назад
I think something that’s helping me tell the difference is how the body looks with weight gain. I think the shape in DC comes from bones, not flesh. For instance the ladies here (and myself) don’t gain weight in fleshiest places like SD but just hips and thighs. I also think that accounts for the short waisted-ness.

Maybe this will help: from what I’ve learned watching many of these kinds of videos a SD has a longer vertical line, like a D, but with more curves (fleshiness) on those long, slender bones. Sofia Vergara is a SD, as well as Tyra Banks, Monica Belluci, and Sophia Loren. Dramatic Classics are not as tall, and not as voluptuous as SD.

I see Jackie as a Gamine, with long body, short arms and legs, petite boyish frame, large eyes and far apart, all of her dresses have a bit of a little girl proportion without flouncy feminine details but clean cut. Perhaps a Flamboyant Gamine. The fact that she wore suits doesn't make her a classic. Her suits are very gamine accentuating the smallness of her neck and shoulders. Tres Chick!

Selena Gomez is definitely not a DC. She looks best in unconstructed outfits. She couldn't be further away from classic. Emma Watson is definitely gamine but she just likes to dress like a classic. All her outfits are for classics, and because classic outfits look ok on most people, she gets away with it. But she would look much better in gamine lines. She always looks like she's a child in adult clothes in classic outfits.
