I remember back when I first found you in 2014, I was just searching up random Objection themes and there you were, the first episode of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. You actually made me love Ace Attorney even more cause of your videos, introduced me to games I probably thought I would never play, and most importantly always brightens my day. I would say with absolute complete confidence you are my favorite RU-vidr NicoB. Thank You.

*Warning:* This comment is super long. The TL:DR version is basically, thank you for being such a great guy Nico, you've really helped turn my life around and I couldn't be prouder to be apart of this fanbase. Your story is pretty relatable to me and after writing about my own experiences I really need a Hajime xD Finding this channel might be one of the best things that's ever happened. Ever since primary school I've been sort of stuck with stuck depression. Was a nasty side effect of my ADHD medication. Funny thing though is that the happiest I've ever been at school was in primary school. High School was absolutely daunting and since day 1 I didn't think I was ready for it. Even though the majority of my friends went there with me there were just so many new people and new situations that it was a little overwhelming. I stopped playing sports, stopped being energetic and lively, stopped caring about my grades and my future. I got terrible grades in my classes from not giving a damn and eventually changed schools. I was still the same as I was but with absolutely 0 friends ar this point. I wondered every single day what the fuck I was actually doing with my life and ended up graduating my nothing. I had no certificates to my name, no friends to build connections with, just the silly notion that I was free from it all. After leaving school I basically retreated fully into my shell. Rarely left my house more than once a month and stayed inside playing video games and watching anime and youtube videos. To me this is what living the dream was. I was incredibly naïve. So on one of my RU-vid escapades I stumble across this horror game, Corpse Party, from some no name channel I've never heard of before (it wasn't actually Nico) but the quality of the commentator was pretty lackluster. However the game was interesting enough for me to want to look it up more, so I did. And that's when I found Nico. Now here's where it gets a little funny. I didn't actually like Nico's voices at first, or at all during the LP, but the comedy was often pretty good and I just stuck with it until the end of Corpse Party. When that was over I decided not to subscribe to him because I just couldn't get used to the voices. So another year of my meaningless existance passes and I'm still doing the same crap over and over, this time ny depression since leaving had gotten much worse. When you're a jobless hack that has basically nothing and already suffered depression for a numerous years things begin to take their toll. I had thoughts of suicide almost every single day. The longer I lived the more I was reminded of my mistakes. A complete failure of a person, that's how I saw myself. Anyway, after that year-long period I come across this interesting anime in the new seasonal lineup. It was called Danganronpa. Midway through watching the series I keep seeing people in the comments say that while they like the anime, the game it was based on was way better and had way more content. Since I was super interested in it I decided to look it up. Low and behold I find that RU-vidr again. "Oh it's that guy with the weird voices. He actually played this game? Well alright may as well give it a watch". That was my second encounter with Nico. But I did the same thing again, I left without subscribing. More time passes, more of the same shit is still happening. I'm in an endless spiral. Then out of the blue I'm recommended a video on RU-vid. "HOPEFUL PARADISE - Let's Play - Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair - 1 - Walkthrough Playthrough". "*!*" It was that same guy again, playing the sequel that I had absolutely no idea was happening. I got excited and clicked on it immediately. Binged every episode that was out at the time which was about 6 cause he'd only just started. "Okay, this time I will subscribe." And so I did. That was the turning point of my drab, robotic, pointless existance. I got excited for every new video that came out. At the time I didn't even realise it but I came to love the voices that I previously didn't like. Even noticed that there were quite a few new additions since the previous times. After checking the videos and playlists on the channel I realised I had a lot to catch up on. And boy did I catch up. I watched damn near everything but still craved more. Eventually I started commenting more and getting to know certain picky penguins *(that was new to me as well since I found the channel long before that even became a thing)* and call them friends. So after a few months of commenting and interacting with my new friends something happens. A bunch of us wind up in a big group of people and we're able to talk more freely than within the comment section. This has actually managed to last quite a while. Several months into this chat and I'm starting to notice something, I really like this other picky penguin who I've gotten to know, so I decide to do something I've never done before and actually tell her. (For privacy reasons she'll remain unnamed at the moment) And to my shock, delight and a million other emotions she reciprocates my feelings and we start to date. Granted since we met through the internet the chances of us being anywhere near each other were slim but we're on the opposite side of the globe from each other XD. We've been a couple for over 15 months now and I've loved every minute of it. I also decided to do something with my worthless ass and become a worthwhile guy she could depend on, but to make any sort of living in the current world a degree is practically mandatory. But I flunked school and did so poorly that I don't think I can really do anything at this point. Regardless I bring it up with my mother and she asks me what I want to do. I've heard this question so many times in my life to the point where I instinctively thought "I don't fucking care". That wasn't trye this time though. What came to my head though, and this came up every other time as well, was 'Primary School Teacher'. My best times at school were in the primary grades and that was thanks to the good teachers. However what I really _wanted_ to do was something Nico also wanted. I wanted to be a game designer. However even someone like me knew that was just a pipe dream so I stuck to my other idea, teacher. In order to get into university to get the teaching degree I want I needed to do something else first. It's basically another sort of class to prepare me for university and get me a score that the Bachelors degree requires. I'm halfway through it already and already passed my worst subject (which is maths). I'm really happy where my life has come. And I don't think any of it would have happened had I not found this dorky RU-vidr who does the weird voices. The phrase is 3rd time's the charm, right? I think that describes me perfectly here. In a way you've really helped me out Nico, in ways you probably never thought would have ever happened, Nico. Thank you, from the absolute bottom of my heart, for doing what you do. You deserve so much more than I could ever give back, and you certainly deserve the fanbase you have. You deserve the amount of subs you have, the donations you get on livestreams, and the super sweet comments from everyone else. Thank you for making me a moderator so that I could help give back to you in even a small way for all you've done for me. I really love this fanbase. I love every one of you guys ^_^

You know, as a junior/senior computer science major in college pursuing a career in game development/design myself.... Hearing about your school and work life hit kind of hard. This semester in particular has me at a workload I'm not sure I can handle between school, my job, and my health. I've been questioning my own skill level a lot too. I've noticed an odd anxiety I seem to have when it comes to programming, that I love doing it but... somehow feel scared to do so. I'm actually laying in bed sick right now, unable to do work on an overdue program for a class I'm not sure I was ready for.... but this video... it's given me a lot to think about.

Nico, I've been around for a long time. Watching your channel grow this big and seeing you break out of your shell day by day is honestly the best thing I could ever witness, and it makes me so emotional when I think about how far you've come. You'll never know how proud of you I really am, but I feel so lucky to be able to call myself a Picky Penguin. You've helped me get through the toughest times of my life. There are times when I get home from school after dealing with failing my exams and countless assholes just to be greeted with complaints from my parents. I get frustrated enough with myself to the point where I physically hurt myself, but once I come to your channel and watch a new or old video, I instantly forget about everything I'm dealing with. I smile and laugh at your stupid jokes and voices with tears still in my eyes. I honestly couldn't ask for anything better than you and all the wonderful Picky Penguins. Sometimes, even if I'm watching a video that isn't yours, I keep it open on your channel ((on mobile)), because just being camped out on your channel feels so warm and welcoming and like a second home to me. The Picky Penguins are like a second family to me and I'm so grateful to be apart of it. I almost never comment on any youtube videos, but i felt like i couldn't stay quiet on this one. First off, congratulations!! You are genuinely my favorite youtuber on this site. The amount of time and effort put into every video on this channel is absolutely amazing, and it always feels like you're having so much fun playing these games. You read comments between episodes and physically talk with us, the penguins, and its such a breath of fresh air compared to all the other content on youtube these days. Lets plays these days never feel like i'm watching somebody play through a game and just had fun and recorded it. Most feel like someone sat down and thought "well gotta make a video today". I found you through the first danganronpa game back when i was originally looking for people to watch play it, because i couldn't. Your commentary was so funny, your reactions were so genuine, and the videos were extremely well paced and just idk awesome. I haven't looked back since. Of all the millions of people on youtube you are my favorite nico, and thank you for just being amazing, and making my hard days miles better. Even today, Forever's End is one of the top games on the site, always being put on the top monthly games, despite never being finished. Many of these people who found the site, and your game, have gone to you, and watched your videos. They love you, Nico, and always will. While it is unlikely that you will ever use RMN, or RPGMaker ever again, or see this comment, I just want you to know that you have had an enormous impact, and that we all love you.

Then, when I saw your Phoenix Wright LP, I saw you had LPs of other games I never heard of, since they weren't Nintendo games. I didn't subscribe immediately, as I only got a RU-vid account like a year ago. I started to watch them and got hooked. I never played the games you LP (Well, not most of them), but I always enjoyed watching your LPs, with a couple of exceptions like, ugh, Corpse Party Blood Drive, but I eventually watched it, just to see more of your hilarious content. To see you raging, fangirling, as well as learning about game mechanics and many stories along with you. So thank you. Not just for being one of my favourite RU-vidrs, but for opening my world to other games from other games consoles. So this appeared in my recommended tab today... As a fan, I had no idea Nico ever recorded a video like that. It's interesting how, even if your life did not have too many serious drama situations to be overcome, your experiences are inspiring to many gamers and geeks. Keeping your hobbies to yourself and become the "nice, quiet, smart guy"? That hits the mark on my college life. Being realistic and subjecting yourself to dull operational jobs outside of what you love or studied for? Extremely common for many. Even so, this guy, who is seemingly similar to so many "regular joes" like me, made a bet on what he loves and actually achieved enough success to make a living AND live happily with it. Heck, this introverted guy even managed to create an entire active community around his content, while managing to authentically interact with most fans on streams. Your life truly is inspiring Nico, and I sincerely thank you for sharing your experiences with us.

While I can't say I've been around since the beginning (I think it was around P4G that joined), you've definitely evolved into quite possibly my favorite LPer, even if, to be perfectly honest, I thought you were just a liiiiiiiittle obnoxious at first lmao. I can definitely relate to a few of your worries, not the least of which is hitting a snag between wanting to do something with your life that you both love and would actually make for a manageable lifestyle.
