I really really enjoyed this style of chilled out video editing overalls and seeing you build the layers through coloring and multilining. I think it would be really cool to watch something like this again but you showing the whole process from idea to drawing on paper to coloring and lining.
Feedback: voice overs are good, but you should use their advantages. Since you can prepare what you're about to say, there should be less "Err"s and "Ahm"s ;) And slowing down the vid is a great idea! Thank you :)
I have Copic Marker myself and can’t recommend them enough! I do need some more colors doe but they are just epic! Even for beginners those markers are just the best, they have amazing colours and a big colour Range, it’s actually 358 colours! AND DON’T buy the ciao or classics, they aren’t refillable or don’t have the amazing brush tip which makes the market so amazing as a tool!
Giving us the copic combinations like you did for the red on the hat, is very very helpful. Keep doing that, or even just writing it on screen/video description. What is your preferred paper for copic, with or without colored pencil on top. Thanks for the video!
I'm using artist's loft markers which are a Michael's store brand I believe and they actually weren't a huge deal cheaper than copics. But they do the job just fine for me! I also use tombow alcohol markers and I like them a lot because they are finer nibs and slimmer like a pencil but they run out fast is the only down fall.
I did a long study into alcohol based markers last year and comparing the likes of Copics and Winsor & Newtons etc and after what I researched, I contacted both Copic and Winsor & Newton I was amazed on just how much Copics even though they are refillable came out worse in terms of cost and quality, I'm not going to going to go into on here as I am going to release a video on my own channel soon enough as I have a few other videos I wish to start with first, bit I have had to check legally I can make the video as it does show that alcohol markers specifically Copics are not as good as they are claim to be, but also that I have all the points I make verified first, which I do, alcohol markers are not the medium to use for a finished art piece anyway, but again I will go into that on my own channel. I would not dare to tell anyone what to buy or not buy that is not my place, artists have their favourites etc, but the video will certainly make artists think twice and it could also make buyers even more cautious and I would not want artists to be discredited or even sued by buyers.
You can always find the most innocent looking character and make them terrifying, and that's an accomplishment xD Honestly yes Copics are so expensive omfg I've been slowly building up my collection for years now and I can only ever get one or two markers at a time (thank you coupons). But you really can't beat the range or quality either, as they are so smooth. However being a poor soul, I do also have other brands that aren't bad for the price; Art-N-Fly, Ohuhu, an 80 pack from Wish (I think they're called TouchNew, but a 60 set I got as well from the same section has a different name on them). Unfortunately only the Ohuhu ones I have come with a brush nib OTL
The new time lapse speed works a lot better mate and helps people to follow what your doing not just appreciate the final piece. You said you’ve used winsor and newton, how did they compare to the copics in your opinion ignoring the refillable aspect?
How long did it take you to make this drawing I am always interested in how long markers take with drawing with realism because ik colored pencil takes a long time compared to marker
If there are more than one color in a section of a drawing (per say orange and a hint of green idk), how do you notice that and how do you know what two copics to use?
I use ohuhu markers they are a good alternative to copic. Downside though not refillable. What kind of paper do u use? Does it make that much of a difference?
I use the newest ohuhu markers they are rlly rlly good and have a Brushnib, the markers cost less than a dollar a piece but they arent sold individual also they arent refillable, have you tried them yet?
Question: when you have bigger areas that are supposed to be black - dou you always fill them with the iner or do you use the black Copic marker as well? What decides it for you?
