True words Dustbringer. I haven't drawn from High School 20 years ago but now Jazza gave me the confidence to draw anything. People are amazed to see what I draw now. Give Thanks gain.
While I'm not big on drawing in the more "Americanized" style of cartooning much like you, I still find your tutorials overall a great help in combination with the classes that I take and the people around me at school. Just watching your videos not only helps me when I am drawing, but it motivates me to pick the pencil up and get to work on something. At this point I spend my lunch breaks at work drawing something instead of planting my face in the gameboy.
First channel I found that does easy, quick tutorials without useless tangents, and that goes straight to the point! I never quite knew how to draw hands or heads in any other angle than three quarters, thank you so much for all the tutorials!
Nguyễn Thái Anh Not really, maybe i should use "" so it would be easier to see. It was kind of quote. Honestly, i am not even sure if you can use it in English, in my native language, we generalize it. I didn't fail at drawing a circle but i failed at "draw a circle", meaning the point on the list. I wonder if it has any common sense for you.
These are amazing secrets you're sharing with us Jazza. I've studied animation (as much as I could between 2 jobs) for 5 years now. Countless books and video tutorials and I've gotten very close to being able to make my first series. These videos are the juicy secrets, or rather roadblocks I've been hitting for the last couple years. You just don't get this in books and videos, at least mine. Thanks man! You truly are helping me make my dream of making a living off making my cartoons come true!
With a lot of the more difficult angles, like that upturned one you had some trouble with, what I find works best is to use more basic views as a structure guide--for the upturned head I might take a head in profile, rotate it some amount, and then use that as a reference for how things sit, how the jaw slopes, the chin protrudes, that sort of thing, when it's tilted. It's probably more useful in projects where heads are going to be reused but whatever.
Thank you Jazza for sharing your knowledge of Drawing Heads On Different Angles. I greatly appreciate it and I am always eager to learn more. You are a great artist teacher.
Thank you very much Jazza. Your videos have made me progress even more to pursue my superhero comic book making dream at Marvel/DC. Now that I got this down and understand how it works (after studying anatomy for like 4 years), I have to find how to draw realistic eyes, nose, etc.
I have learnt more from your videos than i ever have from studying art in school and i studied it for 2 years.. thanks so much i'm most defiantly subbing
Bless up Jazza. You're the best Teacher I see on youtube. Give thanks for all your tutorials. I'm trying to figure out animating water and the waves in the sea. That would help me a lot right now.
I just want to say thank you very much for doing all of these tutorials! I've learned a lot more from you than from my art teacher because I've always been good at drawing what I see but not so much what I imagine in my head so these tutorials have helped make my ideas into reality so thank you very much!
He gives many tips in the video. Practice. I hate when people think that there is some magical trick to everything that makes them perfect. 95% practice 5% talent.
For the love of everything beautiful, please never stop making tutorials. I have learned so much more from your tutorials than everybody else's because they're fun to watch, you have a good sense of humor and you're not just an incredible artist, you are a great teacher, breaking down every concept into chunks that can be absorbed by a beginner. -A loyal sub
I find all these fancy tutorials where you have to put lines everywhere and i struggle with that but these are just simple, how i'd actually draw them you know? Put down a spherical object, draw in the center points, etc, and then draw around that.
@jazza I miss this style of vids always helped me with character creation n draw in general loved Ur character creation course u recently released helped me alot but doesn't go as in depth as some of Ur older tutorial vids still amazing course tho hopefully u do more as it needed more on expressions n head angles lol
Hey Jazza, your channel inspired me to get into drawing and digital illustration even though I suck at it currently(even my stickmen come out looking weird :/), but I always wanted to get good and put my work out there, so I'm not stopping until I'm decent thanks to you. I went and picked up a used Wacom today and messed around in photoshop making random doodles. I know one day if I keep trying I'll reach a level similar to yours. I'm gonna practice my ass off because of you and this channel.
Man, Thank you a lot! I have many years working with the Loomis method, but the jaw line always troubled me, your simple explanation works! it help me too much. Sorry for my bad english. Pero de verdad muchas gracias, amigo
The cranium (brainbox) tends to be deeper from back to front than from top to bottom. An ellipse, or oval, is a better shape to start with than a circle. Your skull, particularly in the profile drawing, is perhaps a little shallow because you started with a circle...
I have a quick question ,When drawing characters is it best to start with the head and work your way down or start with the Anatomy and work your way up to the head. Also thanks for your videos ..
Oh...My God... Your sir are the true teacher for me... I regret knowing your chanel so late! My appreciation on uploading one of the most important part of drawing sir~
Have you looked at Proko? Stan is a true master at the human body...you would learn more from him in 3 minutes than your average art teacher in a month.
where were you when I was trying to learn how to draw! the way you explain things is both fun and informative! Underwear wrapping around a ball, awesome analogy for drawing the head!
I'd love to see a tutorial on character perspective. I.e. someone holding a hand out in front of themselves or something similar. Great vid as always Jazza :)
For those who cant draw a perfect circle like me. Most programs come with a circle selection tool. Just make your circle selection, then outline the circle.
This is a great simple tutorial , I would and the facial hair video and the eyes, and cartoon character as well , all really simple compared to some other examples by other channels which really over complicate the explanation. I would love to see 2019 versions
Love y our videos! You're such an excellent instructor. I don't do digital work but do Oil Painting and Charcoal drawing. Your instructional videos are great for refreshing up on basic underlying skills and have helped me understand things in a different way! Thanks!
This was helpful, very helpful indeed. May I make a request on how to draw snouts, like for animals and demons and such. I especially get confused when trying to draw them in 3/4 view.
