It's so easy to trick people on internet. Don't you realize the video cuts at the moment the camera goes to the paper? He is not drawing people in the train, He drew people, went to the train and made the video. I'm not asking He didn't draw, but I don't believe He made a realistic drawing in less in seconds, inside a place that swings. When I'm saying, seconds, Is the time that people can leave the wagon. If you see another videos, you realize the illumination changes when the drawing starts.
Being that I’m 65years old,I can say that you are amazing not just that talent but the fact that it doesn’t cost you a thing . The happiness you see in their faces is PRICELESS.
Beyond the generosity of sharing your talent with strangers, the fact that you always include a positive comment about each person is absolutely fabulous.
Something I've realised watching Devon's videos is that people can always be self-critical with their pictures, but that's never the case with a sketch or painting. Seeing Devon's process makes you realise the intense beauty of how diverse we are as humans - all a piece of art in their own right. The sentiment behind taking the effort to draw a stranger with such meticulous detail makes the sketch so much more than lead on paper - it's deeply infused with emotion. That emotion is hard to put to words but it's clear as day on the faces of all those people. Keep 'em coming man, love to see your work and its impact! ❤
our different colors and languages is of the signs of Allah, Allah said: And one of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the diversity of your languages and colours. Surely in this are signs for those of ˹sound˺ knowledge. our diversity is so that we may know one another, Allah said: O humanity! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another. Surely the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you. Allah is truly All-Knowing, All-Aware. thank you for this beautiful comment, have an awesome day ^_^
Now THIS man shows the best of New York! Anyone that has ridden the subway knows how people try to keep themselves in their own little bubble/world. Devon breaks thru that barrier with his drawing, his words and his attitude and smile. Besides bring an incredible artist - he's an incredible person and shows the heart of New York. Bless you, Devon ... Never change!
If it were here in Brazil, people would react like: Why are you wasting paper drawing me? get a job because believe me, they would notice someone drawing them, or the serious reaction at most a dull smile that would last a maximum of 1 second, or they would keep insisting on asking the price
It’s amazing how everyone’s face changes when they smile & start talking with this wonderful, generous artist. Thank you for sharing these experiences!!!
He is not just talented…..he makes sure he makes a nice comment as well, this makes the receiver confident and open to engage in conversation,God bless keep it up and come to Florida
Imagine that I had a terrible day...and suddenly I received this... It surely will cure my emotion and touch... He's not only drawing but makes their day too~awesome!
If you watch a few of these videos you may notice that people immediately touch their hearts when he gives it to them. They may be on their phones and in their heads, but he gets them right in their hearts! 💗💗💗
As always - mad skills bro! Much respect!!! Love seeing the joy you bring to others. You make sure to pay EVERYONE a compliment. Your parents did an outstanding job raising you. You've got a good heart ❤️
I love the way you not only give them an amazing piece of art (keepsake of themselves), but you always manage to compliment them as well. Bringing so much positivity into this crazy world. Special place in heaven sir...
You are incredible! The joy you bring to the lives of these people (and me) is wonderful and so needed in the world today! Thank you for sharing and blessing so many with your gift!
Amazing work and I love how respectful you are of everyone you draw. There's no higher calling on this Earth than spreading joy and reminding others that they matter and that they are seen.
He does seem like a nice kid. But life expectancy probably drops significantly, if you were rude every time you reached over to hand someone the picture. Especially on a NY subway.
@@Joeufn Можете подсказать, а у парня на 7:55 какой-то деффект кожи или это какая-то болезнь? А то я не совсем понимаю, как так вышло, что у него часть лица белая, а всё остальное коричневого цвета
I wish there are more people in the world like you, who uses his/her skill to make random strangers happy without asking for anything, yet could still make a living on it.
What a gift, I can see the delight and emotions that people experience when they see your beautiful sketches, like they can see their own beauty more clearly. I think it's so special, good on you.
I'm curious, how long does it take to do a sketch? Do you ask them to wait until you're done? How many people have left the train before you've finished? Lastly, you have a camera somehow focused on the paper as you draw with one hand and hold the paper with the other hand - doesn't that get the attention of the other person?
Same question here. At least he could show the whole process of asking someone, "Hi sir, could I draw a sketch of you for my RU-vid channel?" Coz ain't no way someone is just sitting like that first guy on a park bench reading a book in the most uncomfortable pose.
He does the piece from a photo reference at home or wherever then films himself handing it to them later. For example, at one point he draws part of a guy's tattoo that was under his shirt and could not be seen, so it was clearly done from off the subway at another time with another photo as reference. Also, drawing like this while on a shaking subway would be impossible as many artists have stated). These videos are still heart-warming, but don't think this is something you can do in the way he presents it.

Always fun to see the reactions of the subject. I especially liked the last guy. He looked so down but as soon as he saw his portrait he cheered right up! Good work Devon!
Dude keep up the good work, you are using your talents to change peoples' day for the better. Ya never know what someone is going through, and this is what people need. Keep up the amazing art and good vibes
You have that ability to shine that powerful beautiful light to brighten a strangers day, keep it up brother much-needed love into our hearts and minds of everyone
Devon, you are a inspiration in being a true human. Spreading love, using your God given talent. The planet needs more people like you sir. Semper fi earthlings Spread the love.
Man - what a talent to draw this accurately in such short time windows. I used to be pretty decent at portraiture, but would never have attempted this, especially women, where it's harder to define shapes with hard lines. Such a fine line between accurate rendering and capturing the essence of a person to not creating an unflattering portrait.
Imagine we all paid each other small compliments like this everyday. Just a few seconds of your day to enrich someone else's. Kindness breeds kindness.
I don't go out much lol but when I do, I always make it a point to find something I like that someone has on, or their hair, makeup, etc. and compliment them. A compliment really does go a long way. It lets people know that their taste, style and efforts are appreciated by someone, and seen.❤❤
