This guy must be a really nice guy. He brings out a softness in each and every drawing that isn't always apparent in each person. His art says a lot about him. Bless you, sir.
It's interesting how everyone takes their mask off to express their shock/gratitude. Like we need more than just our eyes and words to convey how we are feeling and our emotions.
@@JasonGstp - Or...and I'm just spitballing here...maybe they don't want to get sick? I live in a community with a lot of Asian American people, and many of them routinely wore masks during cold and flu season, long before COVID-19 and the anti-mask nonsense that we've been dealing with.
"you made me look so pretty!" No ma'am, he just showed you how you really look & now you know how beautiful you really are! Sometimes all it takes is someone to give us a lil self perspective from another view and this is on point. Love it
When that woman said " I look so pretty!", it made me cry. You capture the essence of people in a way that goes far beyond what a mirror can reveal. God bless you for using your incredible talent to show people who they really are.
@@Syndrumyou ever think think that we as human beings have normalized superficiality so much so that authentic gratitude just comes off as disingenuous? Not arguing with you, just something to ponder. 😊
I love it that the first person you draw just goes unnoticed in comments (and maybe even you), but he actually is one the most successful and wealthy real estate agents in NY and probably in USA! Ryan Serhant. But again he reacts as one more ordinary subway passenger receiving an amazing portrait. Beauty of art.
The most beautiful thing about these drawings besides the art itself is the fact that he started every picture the same way. We're all the same in some capacity, and his artwork displays our similarities, regardless of our differences. I love it!
I would like to see him go into depths of the city where there's destitute or unfortunate souls that aren't famous or blessed and draw the realness/raw life
I love seeing people’s defensiveness just melt away 😊 As humans, our ability to socialize and be part of a community is what makes us great! Seeing this gives me hope that we can all get back to appreciating each other a little more 🙏🏼
When he first says "excuse me" you can sense apprehension on some people's faces, but then he says those 3 little words, "I drew you" and that fast people are instantly disarmed and happy.....what a gift he has on so many levels.
I'm sorry to crush your reality. But it's actually quite well exposed. Like you never see anything in one single train drawing behind his sketch pad. It carefully zooms in then cuts about as he draws in big jumps of detail rendering, then it cuts to him holding the finished picture. Also any trained artist can tell you that these are clearly drawn from a picture taken. Not from eye witness. This is because the perspective is always 100% perfect to the camera before he pans to his blank sketch pad, and because you can see certain visual cues to represent the distortion in lighting that would only come from a recorded picture. These wouldn't be reproduced if he was looking at the image he was sketching in person. And lastly, if you've ever tried to doodle on the train you'd know this simply isn't possible. And beyond all these things, if it wasn't fake, he would have had to specifically try to make it seem fake. It would be the easiest thing ever to prove it was real. Like beyond easy. If this is real, it would be so hard to make it look this fake. (Especially the part about never showing anything to indicate it was actually drawn live.) To be clear, I'm not crapping on his talent. Even doing this kind of sketching from a picture over many hours at home, and even doing line tracing, which there is also very conclusive evidence for, it's still impressive art. But nobody is praising him or giving him views for that. His success is because he's fraudulently built a false concept to capitalize on.
@@joanofarc4103 Oh please, Debbie Downer, take your political views someplace else. And learn to respect the choices of others. It's none of your business who chooses to wear a mask, or doesn't.
they used to call it photographic memory. it's been deemed image recall at this point. he is so fast because he doesn't need to keep referencing his subject. the information is already in his mind's eye, so to speak. truly talented.
Thats a nice thought but he already admitted in a news interview (it's actually one of his first videos on his channel) that he took a picture of them and he draws from that. That way people aren't getting upset or suspicious by getting stared at.
For one second, I thought the guy he drew is Kevin McCarthy who just recently got elected as the house speaker. I am like damn what is McCarthy doing in New York City?
I love the last woman's reaction just pure joy she couldn't contain her laughter then when she said " you made me look so pretty!!" It made me realize how insecure we really are it's easy for us to forget in our daily routines that we don't see ourselves how others may see us. So heartwarming
There was many years ago an experiment ,where people would describe a person they have just come across. And you would hear how these people describe themselves first ,and then how others described them. A whole different thing. People would go nuts over how others would describe them. It was interesting to see. I think it might still be around RU-vid ,it was a while ago though
You draw like that in 2 minutes? Dayum! That's some God given talent right there. It takes me hours to do one eye and it doesn't look that realistic. 😆
No words for how gifted this human is!! A stranger taking a picture of you is invasive and weird. A person drawing an incredible detailed portrait of you is beautiful and endearing!! 🥰😍🤩
A student drew a really good picture of me a few years ago (not as good as yours, but much better than I could have done lol) and I still have it on my refrigerator. Good work! It makes people's day to think that you put that much effort and thought enough of us to think that we were "draw-worthy" lol, especially when feeling down. I remember how happy and shocked I was lol
Devon, your talent is absolutely amazing but even more so is what you're doing with it and the joy you bring to others. The world needs more people like you.
You are an INCREDIBLE ARTIST, and a VERY KIND young gentleman. If i had a list of people i would love to meet, you would definitely be in the top ten. BIG RESPECT 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.
Someone did this for me like 15 years ago and I still have the drawing. It blows me away how people can do this and it really makes you feel special!! Love seeing their reactions!!
Miss melissa, I’ve been working and commuting to NYC since 1989 and I promise you that most times, the subway is WAY faster than any bus, car or taxi - I’ve gotten out of vehicles in traffic and hopped down to the subway many times - it sucks but that’s how Manhattan is. The subway has literally SAVED me when I was so late and needed to get to my destination. NYC is a gridlocked nightmare.
why is everyone surprised he takes the subway ? ya’ll ever been around wall street lol there’s thousands of wealthy business people taking the subway to get to work its normal in NYC
@@Misticaraissa What about those who arent pretty? Doesnt they deserve love? Telling something theyre pretty arent the only way to make people feel good, and its far from the most effective one
@@88Wern3r Okay, I understand your point, there are many ways to compliment someone. Beauty is subjective, but I think for most females, is cool to listen someone call you pretty once in a while. The most important thing is to feel good and make someone to feel that way. By your name, I suppose you're germanic or american, I'm not from that origin, I'm brazilian italian, so maybe the "ideal of beauty" from our countries are different. Each person has your own opinion, personal taste, so what looks good or cool to you, maybe isn't for me, and that's okay. To me beauty isn't a concept. There are people that are so nice and pleasant or funny that they are pretty and beautiful inside, there are many beauty in this world, you just have to open your eyes to that. And you can say someone is cool or smart, intelligent, funny, there are many ways to make someone's day better. I hope you have a nice one and a beautiful life. 💜
PLEASE tell me this extraordinarily talented artist is an illustrator for a publisher or in the film or television industry?? Your work is nothing short of incredible and your ability to capture the essence of a subject is phenomenal. Thank you for making those fellow subway riders happy and for sharing this video with the world! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️
You are an amazing artist. You draw a person so fast, yet completely accurate down to the tiniest detail. I would love to be able to draw like you. You make so many people happy, well except for ms. Ducky who tried to bite you, lol. Your art is absolutely gorgeous, every one of them.
Lived in NYC for over three decades and I’ve come to a conclusion as to why people react the way they do in these videos. This is a city where everyone is stacked upon everyone, in their own worlds when commuting, and tuning out the external world. In these reactions in these videos people are seen and that human interaction that we may not want but need is attained. Coming out of this pandemic left a lot of people deprived of that human connection and I appreciate this guy reminding us of what it means to be human.
I had the same feeling we are very Isolated! the close to uncertain death was terrible, in my building for seniors they died almost simultaneously, I was scared that I wrote a letter to my social worker in case that something happens to me,around me people in 3 different country die, Colombia, Belize, here in New York, and California, we need him to make the difference.
Art has always felt so spiritual to me. It seems artists bring a little cosmic magic to earth with them when they incarnate. I love the way creativity brings people together. This is beautiful!
Your talent isn’t just drawing… It’s also being able to get people out of their heads and giving them something that brings them joy. And that joy is themselves, bro. 👊🏿❤️👍🏿
These reactions are so sweet, and I can tell they really appreciate the random acts of kindness. I actually know a few people myself who are aspiring artists, and they do such a fantastic job. What an adorable video this was! :) 🎨
This is my favourite video on the internet. So so wholesome! Thank you for using your gift so beautifully to spread love in the world!❤ you are an example and an inspiration
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!! These are beautiful drawings❤️❤️❤️ All your subjects seem stunned and the reactions ? Priceless!! You’re very, very talented. Good luck to you! Be well.❤️
You see gentleness in people. Every one of your drawings has peace in the face, sometimes more than the actual face seems to have - but you draw it out.
Wow! This young artist is incredible! He is so attentive to details and precise when he draw the features of the person he sketches! His drawings are extraordinary! Thanks for making people smile! 😊❤️
He brought out the sweet side of everyone forgetting the craziness of the world in that instant. God bless you for reminding us about humanity and kindness again. I pray that you are rewarded
This is the best comment I wish I could draw like him also he is a great artist we can all agree on that absolutely hands down the best comment I've read on this thread
@@jv-sc1fs That's true; it's often faster to take the subway or walk. I love New York! I moreso meant because Ryan has a personal driver, but even so. 💚
Is this staged? Is it really possible to create drawings with such detail so quickly? And on a MOVING train too? I feel like this is a struggle for most artist because people don’t realize the time it takes to produce art. And therefore, people aren’t willing to pay the valued price for it.
I absolutely love watching Devon draw and give it to the person. Their reactions are priceless. It's too bad we all can't find a way to make others smile. Could you imagine if everyone did...
Thank you for making me smile on my short break. Long day up here in Canada 🇨🇦. Your videos always make me smile, your so talented, kind and generous! Love it dude!
I would love for someone to do this for me... My uncle had someone do this for him randomly while he was sitting at a cafe... Such a respect for the artists out there doing this... Love seeing the appreciation on these peoples faces. Great video and amazing art and kindness.
I love the last lady’s reaction and how she tried to “catch” herself and not appear conceited. It’s okay to tell the truth ma’am. You absolutely looked so pretty.
Man is inspiring love back into society. Can't begin to imagine how many lives you've brightened up. In a world currently engulfed in hatred, please keep up the good work man!!!
Yvette Arby I thought the same. He is a multi millionaire real estate giant in NYC with his own driver, what is he doing on the subway. Lol loved the reaction though!
@@troyconnolly3027 Keanu Reeves is often seen on the subway in NYC and he is also known for giving up his seat to ladies and people who need the seat. ✌🏼💖
@Yvette Arby that is true, he is also a one of a kind human, maybe Ryan is totally different then they portray him on the show. After all it is just a show. Still cool to see him being drawn.
Dude I just love these videos you're always making people happy, always making people smile, always taking them away from their phones back into reality if only just for a moment. Thanks bro! 😊
Your drawings are absolutely beautiful!! You capture each person and beautiful dog so well it is like looking at a photograph. Your detail is exact and totally unbelievable and you do it so quickly. You present each person with such a wonderful portrait, truly a thoughtful gift, and when you give them the drawing you say something positive and complimentary to make the person feel even better. You have such a beautiful God given gift Thank you for sharing that gift with everyone. You are an amazing person. God Bless you and keep you safe always!
I love the fact that you drew them so realistically but at the same time not too realistic just to make them feel good about themselves. Keep it up mate. The world needs every bit of cheer and kindness
I love the last girl where she says you made me look beautiful except people don't realize how beautiful they really are. Every person has something that makes them amazing. Just because you're not on a movie screen doesn't mean you aren't gorgeous. I'm happy to see all of the great reactions to the pictures. Are there pictures that don't get completed? Poor reactions? I'd like to see those too!
03:37 My fav. part 🤩 she seemed really happy and her laugh made me laugh too🥰 i really enjoy watching your drawing. Thank you for bringing happiness to people.
