In this week's video I am drawing things that I am bad at drawing. I want to push myself to draw things that I find hard to draw. I usually don't want to draw these things because I find them challenging. This week's subjects are roses, characters kissing, and industrial or unnatural backgrounds. actually for me at least i love drawing roses! i have a more stylized way of drawing them and a more realistic way of drawing them. theyre actually pretty easy to draw once you learn how and can be fun to draw as well! (i doodle my stylized rose a lot when i’m bored in things like school paper and stuff)ofcourse it’s all up to style and preference and other stuff but oh boi i certainly agree kissing uhh i guess i’m more not comfortable and perspective i’m still a noob at lol

OH. MY. GOD. I honestly felt this moment, when you said your problem with industrial backgrounds was not perspective, but the lack of visual ideas for buildings and such, I HAVE THE SAME EXACT LITERAL PROBLEM. I think what makes the faces in the kiss feel off is that their foreheads are too close together so even with the tilt it looks like his nose is piercing through her cheek I think practicing head angles and looking at pictures of people kissing and tracing over those will help a lot That’s how I learned it at least Edit: also kissing mouths look way smaller than you may think. I’ve fallen into that trap many times and wondered why it didn’t look right

First I wanna say, Welcome back. Next I wanna say, it’s good to see you’re starting the new year by doing new things, and I totally understand the struggles. If you ever need a word to help you when you’re feeling down, let me say this. We all try our best to train where we lack. We improve what we already have, and we start out what we are once afraid to do. It’s only a matter of being willing to take that first step. It’s gonna hit back, and it’s gonna hit hard. But it’s not about how hard we hit, it’s about how hard we get hit and decide if we should stay down or keep getting back up. It also doesn’t hurt to find some help if we feel like we absolutely need it. Especially if we need an expert to show us the best methods.

I can draw things like outdoor scenes involving nature however, my biggest wall is I cannot draw flowers to save my life also the same with cities towns, or houses for that matter so I guess you say you’re not alone

I have tried to draw kisses but it's so hard that I always give up and turn them into chibis 😭😭😭 (Yes I did use lavendertownes video because she is one of my favorite artists but it was still confusing)

What I struggle with drawing is wings. I have two OCs with wings, and it’s hard to draw them open or folding up a little. It’s a lot easier to just draw them folded and call it a day. Had to trace a base so I could better understand the wing concept lol.

Seeing you practice drawing things you don't like to draw/am unsure about drawing is so inspiring, since it helps remind people that you also struggle but are constantly trying to improve. It helps me look at my own art better since I can be like "Well its not that good but it'll be better with time and practice." So thank you for that, I'm going to try drawing something I don't like drawing today. (Backgrounds ...) Also it was cool hearing you watched a LavenderTowne video since I started watching the both of you at about the same time and you two are my favorite RU-vid artists and the reason I got serious about drawing in the first place. Seeing how good your art is (even for things you don't draw much) always motivates me to improve my own art. I've always enjoyed drawing, but I only recently started taking it more seriously so I'm a bit behind on my skills 😅 I'm also working on getting in the habit of drawing more often and not procrastinating so much. That's the biggest reason I'm not improving as much as I'd like

here's a tip for environments and buildings and such download the Sims 4. It's free, and you can build your character's home however you want, obv with limited objects but it has such a massive impact on your visual memory, makes drawing backgrounds much nicer bc you have a picture of the space, and can even help with character backstories/ worldbuilding. It was a gamechanger for me, and I've been building homes for my OCs and making them as Sims as well and it's been a great time

Another tip for the kissing (I found it on Pinterest really helpful resources) make a heart shape and that can help you with the shape of the heads. The heart can be a little wonky but it works!! You can go to your kissing drawing and outline the head shapes! It’ll make a heart! Or just a kissing reference. I hope this helped!! Your a wonderful artist

I feel so guilty for not watching this on Saturday but welcome back! Oh also, the things you struggle with is the same I struggle with to XD. I remember the last time I drew a kiss was like last year- in march- and I just did it the easy why by just doing it the gacha-way and removed their mouths :). But your drawings look great!
