I had the issue with ESP warning and a DPF that didn`t regenerate. The cause was a splittet turbo charge pipe.

Fantastic video brother 😊 you are a Legend 💪🫡 ,, want to ask you this bolt dose it stop the W204 c220 cdi from white smoke. ? as my car start have white smoke smell time in first start the when u drive it make white smoke with a very little black smoke smell time starts no white smoke until you drive car !? I bought car from woman she served it in Mercedes since she buy it until I have it she told me need take to service as it’s 160,000 last service was 150,000, anyway I don’t know from where to start from the DPF exhaust manifold pressure sensor behind the Air filter, or crankcase Vent breather valve , or PCV valve oil Separator breather,, just let us know know I have no oil leaking at all I searched all around engine are very clean no coolant leaks at all it stay in level, only have little oil around the diesel filter oil around the rubber hoses around it same spot but nothing around the intake manifold at all ?? I’m confused? What do you suggest? Many thanks Matt 🫡

Thanks for the video it helped me change the pipe on my C220. Does the car have to do the electronic reset to clear the engine light?

Hi, thank you for this video, its got me thinking my problem may not be the dpf. I have the engine management light on, 2014 B200 cd. Had diagnostics done dpf was 270%, they did a regen and got it to 28% but light came back on. They looked at the diagnostics again, cleared them but within a few 100m of driving it came on again. I'm at a loss, been quoted £2.5k for a new dpf. Where are you based? Regards, Paul

Yh sounds like you need a bit deeper diagnosis! I’m based in Essex, but if you have a local diesel specialist it might be worth giving them a call ? Do you know the fault codes you have ?

@MrAutoFixer thanks for your reply. I took a photo of the code, the garage uses XENTRY diagnosis, the code is P245900, it says - the regeneration of the diesel or gasoline particulate filter is not ok.

@luapfish1 hi that code relates to the dpf regen not happening within the specific time Parameters so it’s not completing a full regen each time, most likely cause is the dpf pressure sensor failing. This can be tested by most garages computers. 👍

@MrAutoFixer thanks for the fast response mate. I did actually contact topdon and they basically said they don't know lol. I had the exact same split hose as your video and followed it to fix my own. When you mentioned resetting the dpf status, is that different from just clearing the codes? Thanks

@urbexshauny7939 oh that’s good of them lol and when you go into the DPF there are things you can reset to tell the car that you have fixed it basically like resetting the sensors so they have fresh parameters etc all depends on what codes you have as to what you need to do.

Borrowed my neighbours scanner and now I replaced both intercooler hoses the Air leak codes are gone and the only one left is the soot levels are not ok, and obviously engine lights on. His scanner can't do forced regens though and I don't want to pay out for one if that don't work either. I'm based in Essex btw

@urbexshauny7939 oh cool, the Mercedes normally have to do a driving regen that you can activate with a scanner, but you might be able to take it for a drive normally a 30 min drive about 50mph and that will do a regen but if it don’t bring down the soot levels then you will need to have it plugged in to a scanner that can activate it then try angain

@MrAutoFixer I’ve got a c class 220 cdi estate 2013 semi auto which I’m having trouble with the engine management light coming on and going into limp mode, I had a dpf sensor fitted and the car was back to normal for about 3 weeks - a month and the problem persists with the dpf. Took it to a local garage who turned off the light added a dpf cleaner to the tank took it for a run but it still won’t clear the dpf, any ideas would be much appreciated? Many thanks

Hi 👋 sounds like the dpf is still blocking up, the cleaners that go in the tank are not going to clean it , you need to get some spray dpf cleaner then take out the top o2 sensor and spray it in as per the instructions on the can. Then you need to have the ecu set to allow a driving regen and then drive until complete. Hope that helps let me know how you get on 👍

Sorry for late reply, since I messaged you previously I’ve been to the garage today as brakes needed doing and realised last week that a while ago I topped up the engine oil, I didn’t realise at the time that I’d put 5w 30 in but it was part synthetic so whilst the brakes were being done I’ve had an oil and filter change plus a forced regen, not long after the engine management light was back on again and back into limp mode, took it for a run for about 25 miles, pulled over, restarted car after a few mins, set off and power was back, only lasted for the journey back home and power gone again. With this in mind, would the advice you gave me previously possibly still work, sorry for the headache I might be causing you, many thanks

@@piddy5117 hi sounds like your having fun with this 😂 yes my previous advice is still applicable to you, but it sounds like you need to go see someone that has good knowledge of diesels and dpf, and have them look at the data to diagnose the car properly. 👍

Hi, so my c220 cdi was black smoking underload or when it kicked down to overtake for a month or 2 (maybe 3) and i relaced maf and map sensor which solved the problem, took it for a drive and after about 10 mins code P2279 intake airleak,, it was the exact same pipe you replaced on this, reset the codes and when i drove it it felt the fastest its ever been, 10 minutes in to the drive and back in to limp mode and then 5 minutes later the EML was back on the dash, so my question is do you think the dpf i blocked due to all the black smoke it had been putting out prior to all this happening. HELLLLLLLPP MEEEEE 😂😂

Hey 👋 yes it’s most likely your dpf needs you blocking, go on Amazon and get a decent foaming dpf cleaner, take out the top O2 sensor and fill it up with the cleaner as per the instructions on the tin, then activate the regen process with a suitable computer and drive it as the regen states it needs and you should be all good 👍

Quick question, EM light came on, scan tool showed dpf soot level too high, no code for air intake leak or anything. Did a manual regen with the scan tool. Lasted a few weeks. The light is on again. No limp mode, but odd/late gear changes and power seems to have dipped a bit. Could the hose still be split without and error/fault code appearing?

I wouldn’t rule it out, air leaks can be small and not throw codes, what scan tool are you using ? If the dpf is full again so soon you need to look at that and try figure out what is causing it not to self regenerate, live data is a great tool for finding what’s not working correctly!

@@MrAutoFixer is there any specific indicator of an air leak or other similar fault from the data? (Aside from soot content). Sorry to be a pain, local garages are booked until Aug and I don't want to stuck in Limp mode?

Have a look at the boost pressure sensors. Most obvious sign is a hissing noise while boosting or failing that just look at the pipes for soot that would be blowing out, also feel the pipes for splits.
