The majority of Dream Build's shown on the channel feature Carbon frames, I wanted to do something a bit different with this build, I've always had a soft spot for RAW aluminium frames and Scott currently offer their Ransom enduro bike in this form. For the groupset I chose the brand new Shimano XT 12-speed which is both high performance, aesthetically pleasing and incredibly good value. I also liked how the XT was a subtle black colour, I felt that bright components would have clashed against the shiny frame colour.
For suspension I decided to use a pair of 180mm Fox 36 FIT GRIP2 upfront and a Fox DPX2 shock at the rear, both with custom chrome decals! Oh and a Fox Kashima dropper post with a huge 170mm of travel!
Wheels and pedals are taken care of by Crankbrothers in the form of their Synthesis E 11 Carbon Wheelset and Stamp 11 pedals and replacing the traditional bar+stem we have the Syncros Hixon IC one piece bar and stem. Finally, the finishing kit comes in the form of a lovely Fabric Ti rail saddle and lock on grips, the Ti rails match the RAW frame and finish off the build nicely.

Best about it it doesn't have twin lock system, which you force to buy with your ransom builds...

@@peterliptai5422 Yep. I absolutely hate the twin lock system. I'm one that wants to lock out the fork & rear shock separate. I test rode the Spark twice & that system really holds back it's full potential. Other than that, it's a phenomenal bike. Literally it's a rocket, agile, can throw it around, damn near perfect. If it didn't have the twin lock it would be.

Consider upgrading to a Oneup 180mm dropper on a medium frame. And an Onyx Vespar Hub. Results = lower saddle height and adjustable extension. Add quiet instant engagement with the Onyx Hub and you have a Jem🙏🔑✌️

What's with all the lubricant on parts that shouldn't be? Like applying lube on the handlebar mount. Isn't that joint a place where you'd want the most friction? Genuinely curious.

That's not lube. It's a anti-slip compound used with carbon parts to prevent them slipping. it's actually sticky.

Im confused.. two of my LBS said that you need direct mount derailleur hanger for shimano. In this video he uses standard hanger (non direct). Whats up with that? I switched from sram to shimano and it works (didnt switch hangers). But now I snaped the hanger in a crash And dont know if I should buy direct mount hanger instead (supposedlly for shimano)??? Will it shift better?

With the right tools (I used a simple bike tool kit ru-vid.comUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L that you can strap to the bike) it's simple to assemble. As a 270lb guy looking for a way to get more exercise that's easy on my feet I have been impressed by this bike. The tires ship with air in the tires, but before you ride you need to pump them up som more, but once you do you can ride with confidence. You'll definitely want to replace the seat if you're going to ride for any real distance, but that's the case with most bikes. I'm loving it and it has given me a hobby from my youth back.

Do you have a full part list for your builds anywhere? Bottom Bracket, headset etc? Were Scott easy enough to buy a bare frame from?

Why no torque wrench for everything. Brake caliper bolts, shock mounts, brake hoses, stem, cranks direct mount etc. The only time I saw it was on the grips and maybe at the end on the stem, not sure. Other than that sweet rig!

Glad to see there is one spacer under the stem , that's brave , but the handle bar its not for me ... also the frame its missing just one piece of pipe , between the post tube and top tube , its a weak point , that's why the stumpjumper its my top favorite frame

You forgot something at brake hose, inside the frame, sometimes make noise inside, you must put special tubular foam, and noise is gone

@@johncast9565 depends on frame, big holes on frames make echo or noises, when have bumps. I see a loot of bikes with that noise, carbon or allu, no foam inside from factory, economy is mother of making money
