Absolutely one of the most beautiful videos I have ever seen. This should win some kind of award. For a while I totally forgot where I was. I think I just melted into the video and was flying along with you. Thanks for the ride.
Awesome flight video. I used to own a Pliable Moose hang glider when I was a teenager around1979. I never really got to fly it here around Mississippi so I traded it for a Gibson Les Paul Custom guitar.... Since then I I learned to fly in a Cessna 152 II..... In a sense flying is like dreaming.... The sky is such a peaceful place to be.
Bonjour de France , Merci beaucoup pour ce beau partage vidéo ! Beau film , belles images , et belle musique . Profitez bien de votre passion et volez le plus longtemps possible pour nous faire partager vos émotions ! Cordialement W
Fantastic video, thanks for posting. Can't wait until my skill level is high enough for a flight like that. Learning how to fly right now in Hollister, CA.
That beeping sound you keep hearing detects updrafts in the air, which he rides kind of like how a hawk soars in circles and it's like a minor tornado that pulls him up higher and higher. Eventually he will lose the updraft and have to glide to another one. This is also how competition gliders soar for so long too. That's why you usually see gliders only in mountain ranges not plains, because plains don't have the updrafts that mountains do.
I really hope that I will be able to come to Slovenia soon. By everything I saw and heard it looks like fantastic country for free flying. I am really looking forward to visit and enjoying catching thermals above incredible scenery.
@Yosemite25 there is a guy in his 80s who hang glides at the place I go. I am 37 and just began. Took 20 lessons tandum and have now done 8 solos. It is AMAZING!
Great landing ! I like the drogue shoot with what appears to be a central attachment to the back of the harness. I have never thrown mine and I don't like the attachment I have close to my side pocket.
whow...breathtaking... your video makes me reconvert to hang-gliding,... unf. the lack of suitable landing sites in our area and some other issues maked me give up hangliding in the past. I aming again to the way of eagle view.
Very cool. I doubt I'll ever make it over to fly, but it looks amazing. You have a nice kit of a glider there too. Thanks for posting and answering my questions. I have a video here of flying the Oregon coast. Flew the Swiss Alps once, but that's it for world flying. Cheers.
Totally awesome film. I agree on IMAX this could be just incredible. I'm surprised you weren't to bounced around with all the temperature contrasts. Let me guess maximum climb rate 1500ft/ sec. Congratulations. Very nice video.
in this case, it appears he is thermalling. Rising columns of warmer air, like bubbles offer an altitude gain if you circle up in it's core or center. Feet per minute climb rate varies on weather, temperature, etc...I have experienced weak lift (200fpm) all the way to (1500fpm) very strong. In essence, from barely detectable, to rocketing straight up! Hope that helps!
Indeed, as I read over here: great and skillfull landing! :D B) Good choice of music 2!Maybe a tip for a next vid like this: U can try to let your sportscam-audio go more to the background(make it less loud)and let the music come to the front more sometimes, from time to time.I mean that sometimes the music is more to the forefront, and sometimes the normal audio,so you don't have that wind noise all the time.Try 2do this switch FLUENTLY :)&it will be outstanding! Great flight and nice shots! B)
A mechanical failure in a glider in normal flight is virtually unheard of in recent times due to the certification standards for the design. This is actually fairly extensive. A pilot can make a mistake and cause a crash, but attributing that to the aircraft is like blaming your car for making an illegal U-turn and getting in a wreck. The aircraft has its limitations, and these are noted (in the manual). The aircraft performs predictably when used within these limitations.
I love your flight. How much money do I need to make the same thing? I mean: for example i live in mexico on the mountains so no need to go somewhere else. The hang glider how much? your suit, the device what you bring. I dont know to many things.. that you use on your flight. How long did you fly? I think thats the most beatifull thing ever reached. Congragulations my friend. Many people on the world would love to do what you did.
Also search RU-vid for "Hang gliding Dolomites with Carl Wallbank Part 2" This is a favorite, shot in Italy. If you're in the USA, get your H3 rating and then come join us in the Rocky Mountains. We'll be here, and we are easy to find.
