20's century was a great era, it must keep on living before we really reach a significant new step. Hammond, Rhodes, Moog, Stratocaster, LesPaul, Triumph Bonnie, carburetor, Lotus7, Citroën 2CV or DS, Concorde, Boeing 747, 36mm cinema, 8mm, Singer sewing machine, telephone lines, postcards, tubes and valves, Love, hangglider, sailing boats, skiing, climbing, photography Hasselblad, Leica,.. ;-), skateboard, rollers, scuba diving, hitch hiking, ...., ..... And so many nice music... We are sooo rich !!! Thanks Dr Mix for keeping it alive, thanks to your solder brothers in arm friends, and thanks a lot to your music teachers, so good to hear you play doctor!

Just a little history from my time with a C3. It was used widely as a church organ so it's a little less bright. More mellow. I used a 145 Leslie when I had mine. The two pieces we able to fill large venue by itself. After you've played it for a while, you'll start to feel the organ talk to you through your fingers. I found it to make you play better. I hope you have fun with your C3. I know you'll love it the more you play!! Also if they didn't tell you, when you push down a key SLOWLY the draw bar tones come in one at a time. Just some little useless knowledge that you can put in the back of you head.
@julianreverse
@julianreverse 5 месяцев назад
The C3 is a B3 in a different housing. Inside they are absolutely identical.
@gregglynn3763
@gregglynn3763 5 месяцев назад
@@julianreverse Yes they are, but through the years the C was more mellow that the B. Don't know how or why. The C that I had, and I don't know the year, was one of the mellow ones. I found a diagram in Keyboard magazine way back when that was supposed to bring in a little more of the brightness and it did. But through the years even the B had different sounds. Maybe it was because somebody modified the B or even the C. It's not a criticism of the Hammond B or C. It's just part of what we all love.
@ImnotgoingSideways
@ImnotgoingSideways 5 месяцев назад
From what I understand, it's either a Bench (B) or Console (C) with 3 effects (Vibrato, Chorus, Percussion). But, I can imagine with the design and age, every Hammond is going to have its own voice in one way or another. Same goes for the speaker box. I have a pair of Leslie 122 boxes and one definitely had a harder life than the other. Adding to the useless trivia: Hammond was a clock maker. The tonewheels can't be tuned and practically can't fall out of tune. The mechanism is driven by a synchronous motor which is tied to the electrical mains frequency. As long as the power grid is doing its job, the tonewheels will always be right.
@klojke

As a Hammond technician I can assure you that there is not a single thing that is different between a C and B! And also a100s, they have internal speakers and an extra power amp! That’s it

The church where I served many years ago first as an organist and then as a minister had a Hammond which my mom played for decades. During my years it was already broken and someone sold the Leslie. I had to content myself with a more classic, Italian organ, and synths/keys with Hammond emulations. I never could get the Hammond repaired, but those guts are so familiar to me, although I had no clue about much of that stuff. I had the joy of playing in some working Hammond later and can make some sound of them, but actually learning this technician explaining those parts was so precious, thank you so much. Please make more videos with deeper content on that B3, that is so rare nowadays with everybody concerned only with SEO. Thanks again.

It is fair. Claudio must own an Hammond. It is justice on earth. To be honest I would have bought it before a Rhodes or a Minimoog. Why? Ask Claudio... When you are hit by air produced by a Leslie, you cannot think at anything else. It is THE sound. I have a clone (Viscount Legend), which is a nice copy, and I use regularly on stage IK Multimedia B3X. It would be stupid trying to compare, but copies are better than nothing. I looked up a few videos to understand better how Hammond Organ works (what a time to be alive!) and Cor Blimy they make an electric piano look a kids toy. Presets and mimicry of harmonics. Because all the wheels have set ratios of teeth and rotaions to each other i think that means its always in tune (with its self anyway). The big Leslie chorus pedal might sound awsome micd up in a small cupboard or down a reflective hall

I wish you happy playing with your new Hammond, and if you play "Tico Tico" on this giant legendary instrument that would be great to hear ❤There is a "Wersi "brand device that similar in appearance to this organ. I think it would be great to make a promotional video about this device .
