She needs to chill and appreciate his efforts even if she doesn’t necessarily agree. If she is just a B then time to re assess your relationship IMO life is too short.
I didn’t get that impression. She did seem a little unimpressed and I got the impression she didn’t want to be in the video when she was saying “I don’t want to be in your video” but she seemed fine as things progressed.
I know this feeling of finishing a project. I just finished my 800 horsepower Cummins build and we did it in the middle of the war here in Ukraine, about 100km from the frontlines :)
Awesome s10, great job on the build. I love s10s and want to build a 98 up 4 door s10 blazer 5.3 or a rare crewcab s10 changed from 4x4 to 2wd 5.3. It was cool to finally see your wife smile at the end
Clean project S10 Kale. The lowering block and CalTrac system looks good but puts it below the rim height. May cause damage if you ever have a flat or blow on the road or track. We used the ladder bar setup and it worked out great for our S10/V8 project.
Thoroughly enjoyed the couple banter. 😂.. bad ass little truck and it sounds great.. I need to start videos of the 03 Tahoe I’m building up. Great job man
I was looking at the tread of those tires then i saw the letters on the interior there, I've got the same ones on my 99 s10! I love them they just grip the road perfectly, good control for such a light vehicle, I've used them to stop myself from spinning out a couple times!
What size are those tires I'm waiting on my new rims to get here now because I broke one last week but what size are those tires I love them that's what I'm trying to do is keep it under the fender well but go wide as I can
Great build! It seems that you really thought everything out and we’re very meticulous with all the steps of the build. I myself have always wanted to build a V8 S-10. Plus it was very cool that you did a stick instead of an automatic. Very curious if you got the gauges calibrated so they are accurate. Definitely would like to see a follow up video to see how the S-10 is doing. Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
Love the completed build and the look on your face when it started up! Sorry to see your wife has nothing but negative things to say. Don't let it get you down.
I would love that in my 02' Blazer ZR2.. My 4.3 vortec is fine, it's still running like new with 300k on her but it's a matter of time. Both fuel banks are reading 0.0 getting 16mpg in town & 18 on highway which surprised me! I did put new Distributor, cap, wires, plugs, ecm, coil, etc. Plus a new HD 40l60E Tranny. My sunshield snapped right after I bought it 6yrs ago here in Houston for $3k. Know one has ever sat in passenger & Rear seats. Love it but want a sleeper 🤟
This is my first time watching any of your videos. What a great supporter in your passenger seat. where can I find one? Ditch the negativity and do yourself a favorer. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know your situation.
Kale excellent build love what you have done with it. For your Cal trak bars if they need to be adjusted loosen up the bars while it is in the air then tighten it up where they sit. Should put you in the ball park for best traction. This is the build I would love to do myself but would do turbo in the bed! 😉 ✌ 🇺🇸
@@kalemullikin completely incorrect info on the CalTracs…set them with full weight (plus drivers weight & fuel in the truck) on level ground at neutral (no gap/no preload…just touching) THEN if it tends to push right or left at the track add 1/4 turn preload to the side it pushes towards. Lower hole = softer hit & Upper hole = harder hit to the tires👌🏼
My wife went on the test drive of my swapped G Body and did nothing but complain about it . At that point I knew I had accomplished what I had intended to do .
@12:12 you can use the spare tire mechanism to pull some weights tight to the bed! Had to cut a bigger hole in the center of the weight to get the metal piece through it but it holds two 45lb plates no problem! Love the build man! I had an extended cab 95 S10 the same color but had the older front grill/interior.
Yessir, I do the same thing with my bbc C1500 since the 3” full exhaust won’t allow the stock spare to fit🤘🏼I eventually plan to relocate a dually tank back there to get rid of the mid/side mount stock tank and still use the factory filler hole. Makes it a pain to keep the CalTracs adjusted correctly with the side mount tank, I currently keep it on a 1/2 for the track or to street race the truck👌🏼
That look you have when you hand built your LS truck and take it out for the first time and she rips! Good stuff man, it's a good feeling I know! Well built and tasteful
A CPI blazer air box will fit in the stock location and make it easy to connect to an intake tube. Not sure if the panel filter size is adequate but I’ve seen it work
Looks like your doing a quality job. I'd definitely install the AC compressor I like my AC. I've thought about doing this to my 2000 extreme I just don't want to invest the money and time it's my daily driver. An LS would be nice in my Chevelle and easier to install but then the 406 that's been in it for the last 25 years still rips. Then I thought about an LS in my 55 but I don't think a 55 gasser would look right with an LS it needs a big block. I wish these LS engines were a thing when I was younger great engines.
Thanks I appreciate the feedback! I may put AC on it in the future but didn't want to do it on this first iteration of the truck. This used to be a daily drive for me too and I've been dreaming about it for a while. I agree an LS may not have the right look for a gasser, but definitely would have tons of power if you did go with it!
You're going to want to change those rear shocks out real quick. Lowering the truck 2" just eliminated 2" of travel and you'll be fighting that trying to get it hook up. My Blazer Xtreme is factory lowered then lowered 2" more. That's a total of 4" over a stock 2wd Blazer. But I also gain a half inch due to tire height (275 radial) so all said and done and I'm lowered in the rear, 3.5". I called Viking Performance, gave them targeted ride height, and they recommended the shocks for my application. Best investment ever. 😉
With the caltracs in the back they hang lower then your feel so Incase of a flat going down the rd one day they’ll be dragging. Just something to think about with the small rear wheels with that set up …. Don’t ask me how I know 😂
For everyone talking bad about the wife, I could see on her face that she enjoyed the ride. I really think her "attitude" is just part of her sense of humor.
Haha, I couldn't help but laugh at your wife... such a S#!t talker! She couldn't help but to smile though when you ran her through all the gears at the end though! Nice truck, love the build.
I built a 95 s10 l put a 95 350 with eledbrock intake and carb bored and camd with a nv3500 transmission l had a lot of people tell me what l should have done and l say you can build one and do what you want this is what I wanted great job on yours looks like it belongs and that is also what l was going for
Look fella' IDK your situation or who she is or what the situation is BUT, YOU GOTTA' DUMP THE ITCH' N' MAKE THE SWITCH!! Other than that your video was awesome and informative!! Thank YOU for YOUR positivity and love YOUR life!! 🏁🇺🇸💪🏁🇺🇸💪..
Wow dude, not trying to be rude or anything but is she always like that? You deserve way better. You seem like a super nice dude who is in no way a failure. Don't let ANYONE talk to you that way. Seeing shit like this makes me so happy that I've never gotten married.
I buy single cab S10 but I had to get rid of because I couldn't stretch my legs out. I didn't have good shift and control with my legs out bunched up to the steering wheel almost.
4l60E 2700 High stall Torque converter, Performance clutches and gears... Everyday driving no tow with heavy acceleration every now and then. hwy and city more hwy. SUV mid size is a cooler needed???
Here is a thought. why not set it up like chevy trucks where the antifreeze cap is on the resivor tank? I think the exhuast turned out good. so did the rear end and tires and welds look good! The truck looks good from the rear I think it would look really good with a rear roll pan and no bumper. Ive own a few s10s one ext cab with bucket seats and a center console and one with the bench seat like yours and not a fan of the bench at all.
Your core support. Common task to cut out the top completely. I left the front lip and welded a piece of angle iron (1/2") across and used generic door ding rubber u channel for the sheet metal edge. So yes, the core support will be weak till you weld in the angle iron. But pretty simple. Hardest/time consuming part was boxing in the ends to look good. I have done about 2 dozen of them for local people. BE CAREFUL WITH ALUMINUM SPACERS they will break and crack under hard use. See it, done it. For the same price or maybe few dollars more you can get some metal ones on ebay that also fix your pinion angle back to factory spec if needed. Course a set of drop springs are about $220 buck ($110 a piece)
I thought about cutting the whole top out, but my whole goal was to keep it as stock as I could (foolish maybe). Good info on the spacers. I'll definitely keep an eye on them and maybe fab some new ones myself in the future
@@kalemullikin for sure! I do have a question for ya haha. You said you ran corvette accessories right? What water pump did you go with? I’m looking at running the ls2 pump but there’s a lot of options haha
@@captainaj787 I just bought an old beater 82 long bed. I'm going to be doing a back yard swap of some kind, not yet sure what though. Do you have videos on here about yours?
@@truss6282 no I don’t have anything posted on mine. I’ve been doing mine out on my rv pad instead of in the garage haha. I started a thread on s10forums with it, although haven’t posted a ton there
Hey buddy that was an awesome job and the video was good to all except the test ride, You probably would have enjoyed it ten times more if you took your buddy or went by your self, just sayin 😉
Does your insurance company know about the engine swap and mods? If you don’t inform them you may not be covered in the event you are in an accident. Better to make them aware then wish you had.
I like KINDA wanna do this to my truck, it's a 98 Sonoma but like I haven't even driven it to like an actual legit spot because I can't. It's not street legal yet but it's the 4 cylinder one with the 5 speed too. I want to do that kinda like you, have it in its stock form for many years then possibly get a second car to go around in too then do that and mod the snot out of it. Tho still keep the stick too, then do everything else too. Everyone i see just does the ls in it with the 4l80e or the 60e and then done. I prefer to keep the manual in it I do because I feel the manual is FAR more reliable despite people say "eeuuhh the clutches man eeuuhh you'll burn through clutches man you'll be doing that all the time nerrrrr durrrr". My response is well if that's your concern then you don't know how to drive stick at all if youve got that experience. You just bad at a manual then. Anyway but yeah I feel like doing that when I've had the truck for like 15 years or till the motor blows or something lol.
@@kalemullikin it's actually kinda poetic how I got it because what I wanted was to learn manual, but also it be a useful vehicle to use to like carry things too. As well be fuel efficient that rare thing that this truck ticked EVERY box there. It's a 2.2 so it's good on gas in a way my dad's pt cruiser actually has a bigger engine in it. It's a manual transmission which I wanted to learn and for it to be reliable so it will always move. Also its a truck so it has an actual bed to carry things it's the SLS too so it has ac in it.
